Purchased this kayak as we really want to escape the noisy world. Especial the coivd.
1. The price is so good. As the promotion we get nearly 30% discount
2. The kayak has enough space. It can afford 2 adults and 1 child at same time
3. Easy to set up. It will take you around 10 mins then you can enjoy the water life
4. The material is tough.
Worth to have one.

I was so excited for this prime day find. I’d been renting kayaks for years and then heard from friends that inflatable kayaks were actually really nice, very sturdy. It is really easy to set up and take down. I did have to use the deflated to get the air out faster on some parts. I set it up in my living room as a test and the of course, also when we took it out. I used an electric pump for its maiden voyage, the kind you plug into the car, and i don’t think it was strong enough to give it the maximum amount of air, but enough to get it on the water. The manual pump took too long. Next time, I will use the electric pump and then top it off with the manual and hopefully that will do it. It was so comfortable, more comfortable than a fiberglass kayak with a hard seat, I think because it’s inflatable. So much room in it too. It sailed well, but we were only on still water. Super interested to take it on a river. I will update my review after I do so. I already highly recommend this kayak!

Rigid enough to float two adults. I’ve kept it inflated for over a month & not any noticeable air leakage so far. Material looks durable, dragging over beach sand does leave some scratches to the surface painting but the fabric seemed fine.
Seats are attached to bottom of boat with loop n hook that’s not as secure & may come loose easily especially for the back seat, however the reinforcement belt is a big plus as it effectively holds the seat in position. The valves for the seats are cheap ones that can go off too easily.
The “drainage valve” located at rear of the boat is also toy-like and can’t remain its opening position, that makes it awkward trying to expel the water through.
Other than that it’s a very nice kayak to have.

We are experienced Kayakers who have other hard sit on top and sit in kayaks. This was our first inflatable. For the price of admission, ours turned out to be a great purchase. We use it on vacation, so that we don’t have to carry our expensive kayaks on our vehicle for hundreds or thousands of miles, and worry about them getting stolen when we camp. We have used our Intex Explorer on the ocean inlet canals in Murrel’s Inlet, SC and it works great for that. Smooth water with some current. Our limit is about 1 1/2 to 2 hours before we feel cramped and need to take a break by getting out of the yak. I am 6’ and wife is 5’ 8”. This kayak is a little short for two people our sizes, but anything significantly longer is a lot more money so we make due. The Explorer K2 tracks well using the included skeg and when good paddling technique is used. When we paddle hard and fast in unison, it tracks very straight and is speedy enough. When letting off and ceasing all paddling, it will drift and the rear will start to swing out some. Not a big deal. The materials used seem durable enough for the price point. The only thing we really would like changed would be the inflation valves on the floor and on the front and rear bow and stern covers leave a little to be desired. They are the cheap little clear flip out valves like are used on inflatable pool toys. The other valves to inflate the sides the are the nice kind of valves that don’t let air escape when you pull the air pump out after inflating. Again, for the price point we figure they have to cut corners somewhere, and these are the areas they did. But all in all this is an amazing value for the money. We are done with set up and inflation using the included pump within 10-12 minutes, and deflation is even quicker. If we find we start using the Intex more and more, we may upgrade at some point to a longer (like 12-13 ft) inflatable kayak. If Intex made one, we’d buy it today. So if you want the convenience of a kayak you can take with you anywhere (comes with it’s own bag), and you want in for low cost, the Explorer K2 is a good way to go! I bought this 2 person blow up kayak Jan 2020. I had a plastic 2 person kayak and a single person kayak prior. I take this blow up one EVERYWHERE! People always ask me if I love it and I have got at least 4 people to buy them if not more since strangers on the lakes and rivers always ask me if I like it.
PROS:
*Takes 5 minutes to hand pump.
*No roof rack required. Since it’s a 2 person kayak you can park one car at the beginning and one at the end of a river and neither of you need a roof rack. Deflates and folds up fine.
*Idk if the common misconception is that it’s lie an innertube or floatie material but it thick and durable. I’ve taken this out on choppy Lake Michigan, rivers and small lakes.
*Why did it take me 3 years to write a review? The other day my friend and I took the worst kayaking trip ever on this thing. We dropped in somewhere we never did before on a river and there was like….hardly any water. We were bottoming out and scraping over rocks. The rudder on the bottom kept getting us stuck and this thing did not pop. 5.5 hours of hitting rocks and I said I need to write a review lol
*The CONS which are minor but the rudder underneath prevents you from using kayak launches. It will also get you stuck on rocks if you are in shallow water. I used to launch from a little hill to get in the river with my plastic one and can’t with this because of the rudder.
I have got a lot of friends who never kayaked to go with me since it’s 2 person and really no hassle to transport and blow up. They then go and order one also so we can bring more friends. Legit great purchase.
