    Prezzo tutto sommato onesto.

No need for a computer with 8 tracks and tons of plugins available for the standalone mode. However, one of the key features is the USB audio interface. Not requiring a separate audio interface to go through is quite amazing. This thing has it all.

This is my first MPC. The work flow is different from what I’m used to (Logic). I’ve only had it a couple of days and it is a joy to learn. The work flow is very intuitive once you grasp the design. The keybed is high quality and very quiet (for anyone wondering if key noise would be bothersome to a sleeping spouse as you create through headphones in the bedroom late at night 😉 The stock sounds that come bundled with the unit are delightfully plentiful and useful. I love the feel of all the knobs, buttons, wheels and touch screen. The sequencer and sounds appear to have all the bases covered very well with plenty of edit options for creating and saving your own preferences. I feel very confident that this is one of my best investments…maybe THE best! I’m not a hip hop or rap fan, so I was a little concerned that I may not be able to create traditional orchestral or new age style music since all of the YouTube videos seem to show it being used for hip hop, rap, etc. But, having reviewed the sounds and making a few test sequences, it appears this will do just about anything you could want. the compact size is a HUGE PLUS for me. I love having a full DAW-like interface in such a small unit WITH KEYS! It’s lightweight and easy to move around with. I highly recommend this and I’m expecting I will spend all my time on this while my Roland MC-707, Verselab, Deluge, and Blackbox fall by the wayside. Not having to hook up a keyboard is a big plus!

Like many, after years of music production “in the box”, I tired of using a computer to create my music. Being semi-retired, I decided to start creating my music with hardware alone. It’s been a blast, and I’ve been fortunate to be able to buy lots of synths and such. But even with a decent collection of gear, I’ve always felt I’ve needed to compromise the overall production value of my music when using a DAWless setup. Complex arrangements are out. And I don’t mind limitations, but there’s something to be said for one-button “save” and “load”…something DAWless rigs aren’t really known for.
Well, that’s all changed with my new MPC Key 37. It’s everything I’d hoped it would be and much more. The only thing bugging me is that it’s made most of my earlier gear purchases redundant. This is what I’ve wanted all along…I just took the long, expensive road to get here. This is the only piece of gear this old man has ever needed. And if YOU are sick of pointing and clicking to create music, this is the answer. It’s a full DAW…in keyboard form!
Thank you, Akai! Sorry it took me so long!

The Akai MPC Key 37 is a great all round unit. A brilliant music making machine. Only limited by my knowledge of the MPC ecosystem and my Keyboard skills.
I’m learning new things every day. There are some great sounds and instruments you can add to it and then you can still hook it up to your PC and it will control you MPC PC software to add even more to your music creations. If you know you are doing you could be creating hits in no time.

After 16 days of purchase display started becoming pixelated and glitching. Following day screen would not even turn on.
Besides the machine now not being usable. I did enjoy its features and functionality.

i have bought 2 of these now and both have been defective.

will try out key 61 and hopefully i wont have issue with that one.
