This review is for the model AU220MA 480 Watt Auto Feed Micro-Cut Paper Shredder. Shipped in a big sturdy box, I was pleased it arrived safely and best of all required no assembly! Handy orange colored nub (see red arrow in photo) that shows the stack height of 200 sheets of 20 lb bond paper. When you’re grabbing a stack of documents soon-to-be confetti as long as the stack fits under the nub all is well. Unfortunately larger paper, say legal size 8.5″ x 14″, must be inserted into the manual feed slot and no more than 10-sheets at a time. If this shredder is going to be used in the average office or at home then this is probably OK. However, for use in a lawyers office you may want to look for a shredder with the ability to auto feed larger sheets. That limit aside, this is one heck of a cruncher. Equipped with wheels so it rolls easily around the floor making its 39-pound weight easy to handle.

Didn’t work right out of the box. Red light shoes lid open or bin not in properly. Both are correct and red light won’t go out to run. Tell your driver to turn around and get this POS.

This heavy duty shredder is very compact and it looks nice. The rollers make it easy to use anywhere. It comes with great instructions, and it’s very easy to use.

Although this shredder isn’t quite compact, it does offer a lot of features in a relatively small footprint. It has a slightly better security by making smaller cuts than my previous P5, micro cut shredder (prior on left, Amazon commercial shredder on right). More importantly, it leaps forward in convenience: the shredder has a 200 sheet capacity auto feeder, so you just need to put 8×11 paper in the tray and turn it on. The shredder will run, stop and cool if necessary, and resume shredding from the auto feeder. You can still feed it manually up to 10 sheets at a time, but the auto feeder makes it so much more convenient for bulk disposal. The manual feed slot must still be used for small, irregular sized paper such as cash register receipts and items such as credit cards, and it powers through these with ease. The shred bin is also quite generous in order for it to accommodate the auto feeder’s capacity. If you do a lot of shredding the auto feeder feature alone is worth the price.

I am returning this for the second time for the same issue. That paper inlet for the 200 paper stack has two plastic pieces on the sides that break off almost immediately at first or second use. On my first machine, the plastic piece on the right hand side broke off. I returned it and ordered a second machine, same model here it was the plastic on the left that broke off this happened at the very first use, I only had 20 pages of paper in it.
The machine regardless continues to function. However, I’m just concerned that over time more will break off, and the machine will become dysfunctional outside the return policy period.
Otherwise, it is quiet and efficient. Very easy to use: put paper in, close to it, go away, it does its job.
Great unit if only it wouldn’t break.

Also bought the lubrication sheets which help.

Auto-feed is hit and miss now, requires constant adjustment. I believe wear on rubber rollers has caused them to have trouble gripping, even with constant cleaning and wiping.
Shred quality has decreased drastically within a few months of use. When new, the shreds were very fine, now they are noticeably larger with lots of long strands.

Bin is empty, have cleaned out rollers, blades etc. and cleaned off sensors. But first sheet gets halfway and it reverses and flashes overload. Haven’t had very long, didn’t shred much before this happened.
