I ordered these for my jam space and very loud drummer. He is very stubborn about his cymbal sound, so I was surprised when he said he liked the sound of these for practice.
I had originally ordered the set with the splash (my mistake cause you’ll probably want the 18” more). Now Ive ordered the set with the 18” crash as well. Both sets together cost less than one pro cymbal, and small price to pay for our hearing.
Now i just need to convince him to use these low volume cymbals at our small gigs so we get invited back more often lol.
Only wish they offered individual cymbals

These play really well and sound way better than I expected. With some decent timing these would record really nice- the ride has a really good tone and wash and definition.

For $99 it’s hard to find something that sound as good as these, AND come in a 4-piece set. I bought these to replace a broken L80 cymbal, which would have cost more than twice what this set cost for just one cymbal. They feel pretty good and have plenty of wash/sustain – the 20” and 18” cymbals actually sound excellent, almost like “real” cymbals.

Of course, nothing that costs this little is free of problems. Here they are:
    – WAY louder than L80s, it’s not even close. You can wail on the L80s and they’re never louder than about 80db. Playing these with normal velocity, expect about 95db.
    – Hi-hats are terrible. Super tinny, ugly sounding, definitely not purpose-designed hi-hats (all of these cymbals have the exact same profile BTW, just different diameters). I kept the L80 hats on my practice kit despite the difference in volume.
    – Little to no bell on any of the cymbals (again, all the same profile). Do not expect to get any bell definition out of the ride, unlike with L80s.
    – The ride especially suffers from being too thin, it’s more like a 20” crash than a ride. You will not get any stick definition with this like you will with L80s.

All things considered, a really good set of practice cymbals relative to price, but definitely manage your expectations (ESPECIALLY if you already own L80s or comparable cymbals from Sabian, Meinl, etc).

These are very functional cymbals. They are easy to use and pretty durable so far. I’ve got a really nice set of custom cymbals and I’ve cracked them before. So, my cymbals take a beating and these have withstood hours and hours of playing. They’re quieter than traditional cymbals and a great alternative to an electric set. They are still far louder and I wouldn’t play after 7pm but what a great addition to my instruments.

Muy buena calidad, cumplen su función de bajo sonido, son un poco estruendosos pero definitivamente el sonido es menor que los platos normales. Recomendados

They don’t sound great but they do the trick. They have a higher pitched tone than I’d like but they’re fine for keeping the volume down. The Zildjian Low Volume cymbals have much better tone. I think the 16” crash and 20” ride sound better than the 18” crash and 14” hi hats. With the 18” I expected more depth and fullness compared to the 16” and it really lacked there. The 16” sounds appropriate and the ride rings fine. The hi hats are useless. They sound high pitched and tinny. I just used my normal hi hats. Maybe you can invest in the Zildjian Low Vol hi hats. The feel of them is good with the feel of a nice thin crash. They definitely sound best with wooden sticks. Using low vol sticks like Adoro, poly sticks, or brushes you won’t get as good of tone out of them. But if you’re not going for tone so much and just want a cymbal that’s is low volume and feels good then you can’t beat these for the price. They do the job for that but no so much for tone. With both I think the Zildjians are better.

Hats are decent, not great. Ride is decent, not great. Crashes are better than decent, but not quite great. The bells are ok, I think the worst is the ride, but still sounds ok in the mix. We bought these to match the Remo Silent Strokes, which we taped up to get more volume. These match quite well in sound with the modified Silent stroke heads for low volume recording. You can tape the bottoms and they get louder and change the tone a little. Think a person could really dial these in if they tried. Would by again if I lost these.

Love this set. The low noise design projects a very nice sound whether you strike the cymbals hard or soft. I actually have mixed them in with my normal cymbals for a different sound. Well built and look good.

    Super good stuff imo
    Reduced volume
    Durable
    Looks great
Perfect for rehearsal they sound good
They play like regular cymbals. These are thicker than some of the zildjian stuff but totally cannot beat it for the price

We got this pack of cymbals to be used for a Rock and Metal band-themed summer camp for kids 6th-10th grade with the expectation that few of them would be responsible enough to actually wear earplugs. In order to test them beforehand, I brought them to my own band practice and let our heavy-handed drummer try them out to see if they were going to be durable enough. Not only are they able to take a beating from a real drummer, but we have actually come to prefer using mute cymbals for our own band practice! The tones are surprisingly bright for how thin they are, the anodization has held up well to stick strikes so far (~2 months of playing), and they sound fairly convincing as full cymbals on recording. Additionally, being quieter has helped prevent bleed-over to the other drum mics.

I was so impressed by these inexpensive cymbals that I went and bought two more sets – one branded as Aisen (~$200) and another as Resanito ($~60). The Aisen have a heavier stamping and thicker coating so sound much darker, while the Resanito are bare steel and have a very dry crisp character; making these Arborea cymbals our favorites of this range.

    5/5 would purchase again!
