Normal Bach quality. It is a good fit to my Rath R4.

I’ve played everything from a 7c to a 1g, and this is the mouthpiece for me. Let’s me keep my endurance without playing 12 hours a day, and it just “feels right”. But don’t take my word for it. And don’t just buy the mouthpiece because it’s bigger than the one you have. A mouthpiece is something you can’t decide on your own, young ones! Ask your teachers!

Got this for my son at the recommendation of his trombone teacher. It was WAY less expensive here than through our local music shop. My son said it makes his tone much better for jazz performances.

Helped my tone quality in the lower and upper range. It also helped my stamina. Younger players should make sure to talk to their instructor about whether they should get this mouthpiece though.

I was recommended this mouthpiece (simply known to me as a Bach 3G) by my middle school band director as I transitioned to a larger bore trombone. It is the mouthpiece I played all throughout high school and college.
Now, I am out of school and have decided to start playing the trombone again. While I primarily play bass trombone in my community band, I want to stay in practice on tenor. Unfortunately, my old mouthpiece was left behind in the case of a school-owned horn, so I decided to purchase a new copy of the same model.
What I received is exactly what I remember from my years of scholastic playing. I found no defects or imperfections during my initial inspection. I understand that a 5G size is the widely regarded standard for large bore tenors and that many players will find the 3G size too big, but it is what I grew into under the instruction of my band director, and it’s what I am still familiar with today.

The new Bach measures at 26.26mm in cup diameter (what’s advertised is accurate) vs the old version 26.4. It also has the I-depth cup, and .276 bore it has maintained from the past. The result is a focused, core center sound, sufficiently deep that you can play it for hours. Other competitive 3-size moithpieces sport bigger cup diameters, and larger funneled bores that really don’t generate appreciably more depth of sound, AND they will tax your stamina. Its internal cup is designed with more of a bowl vs funnel shape which aids control. Product weight is 5.4 ounces (as directly measured, without box), not 3.2 oz.
Good product. Exceeded my expectations.
