Needed a square taper single speed crankset for my ancient GIANT NRS build. These worked perfectly. They are quite heavy for a single 1X crankset so MINUS 1 star. I have it setup as 11 speed and the chain runs fine on the chain ring supplied on the cranks.

Shipping was fast, packaging was good. This crankset fit perfectly on the bike and the chain line with the 30t chainring with a Shimano 8 speed was perfect. The narrow wide chainring is a little noisy in first gear with a 11-36 cassette but quiet with an 11-32. Time will tell how it wears but it functioned flawlessly on two pretty ruff trail rides so far.

This is a great crankset at an incredible price. I am a heavier rider and it seems to be holding up very well with little to no noticeable flexing. Typically, I only get spline and hollow bottom brackets with matching cranksets because it is stiffer and stronger. I have had many square tapered cranks fail or round out on me. I am limited on selections because I am upgrading a budget fat tire frame, so getting quality upgrade parts is difficult. The finish and overall design look and feels like quality parts at an affordable price. This is a win win for my budget build.

I bought a cheap mountain bike that had a single speed chain wheel on the front. The problem was that the front chain wheel had too many teeth. Their consequence was that the gearing was way too high. I could only use the three lowest gears most of the time. I switched the 40 tooth chain wheel for the Bucklos 30T chainwheel. It solved the problem nicely. The cranks fit the old axle perfectly. The whole setup is about a pound lighter, including the crank arms and the chainwheel. It looks pretty sharp. It’s interesting that the teeth on the Bucklos crankset are different sizes. Not sure what this is for, but the chain has no tendency to fall off the sprocket.

The front derailleur and shifter were not working correctly on my daughter’s 24″ bike so she always left it in one gear. Might as well make the bike a 1x with the 30t. Eliminated the non functioning front gears, made her life simpler, and lost a ton of weight over stock. Like 804 grams ton of weight! The gearing is also in between her stock 24/34 so it is better overall too. I use the same crank but a 36t on my mountain bike I convert to 1×10. So far so good.
