I bought this watch specifically for the step counter. It is very accurate. I’m comparison with my phone pedometer over a 65 minute walk there was an approximate 300 step difference between the two. This led me to take 100 steps with the phone and watch in hand watching the count. The watch was exactly 100 steps while the phone counted 103. It is nice to be able to detach from the phone on my walks now. I find it cumbersome and heavy. I hardly feel the watch on my wrist. Combining the timer or stop watch features with the step counting feature is simple but next level for anyone who wants to know distance over time.

I love the watch, but be aware that this is actually the gray model with yellow/green accents, not black and red as pictured.
That being said, another reviewer commented on the watch being cheap Chinese hardware, but many of Casio’s “lower end” models are manufactured in China; that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a counterfeit or knockoff (mine appears to be real).
Overall I do recommend this watch if you’re in the market for a pedometer timepiece and the gray/yellow color scheme.

This appears to be in a G-Shock body (my favorite by far) but much lighter.
The band fits my wrist, which is great since i have spent MANY hours and dollars searching for bands that fit and why i gave up on fitwatches. Anyway, this fits my wrist with room to spare.
The watch has a manual online to avoid reading the Bazooka Joe size paper manual included.
Operation and setup is easy.
The steps do not require calibration for my gait, so i expect the distance (converted) to be inaccurate. However, I do not care. What I need is relative activity with goals I can set to ensure I maintain activity levels.
There is no BlueTooth which is a plus. It is a simple, secure, fitness watch that is perfect for my needs if it works as ling as a normal Casio.
I also look forward to longevity since there is no rechargeable battery that will die on another $300 fancy model that will die fast (not angry).

Excelente reloj, ha cumplido con mis expectativas, me ha gustado su diseño que es resistente ideal para mi duro trabajo abordo de buques, sus funciones son muy fáciles de utilizar y útiles como el conteo de pasos y el registro de vueltas corriendo es ideal para mis ejercicios de cardo abordo, en general cumple con lo que promete. Hay que tener en cuenta que el modelo que se envía no es el que está publicado en la fotografía, aunque no me desagrada el color que recibí, en general muy satisfecho 👍🏻

This watch is perfect for me. After several years of wearing smart watch, I hate to charge it one day or several day cycle. I only want to know my count of my steps every day. I like the Casio look and its smartwatch like capacity to track my steps. The time is accurate also.
