These strings have the ability to be bright enough to cut the mix but also deep enough to go LOW. I would say these are value for money. The tension is even over the set and really feel good. I use these for C standard tuning and had no hesitation in buying my first medium gauge set and a further heavier gauge set for another bass I have.

I play in a metal band and tune down to drop C (I know, I could buy a 5-string, yada, yada, but I’m not). I’ve always had some problems with tension on my low string, but learned to live with it. I’ve been playing Ernie Ball 2831 Nickel Wound Power Slinky Bass String Set (55 – 110)(110-55) for awhile now, but I saw these and had to give them a try. I even tried the GHS H3045 Heavy Gauge Bass Boomers Bass Strings (115-50) but lost all tone; sounded pretty muddy, though the tension was better.
When I first put these strings on my first thought was, “Where have you been all my life?!” I mean, wow, what a difference. I have a good amount of tension, allowing me to play quads, the tone is full and thick, but bright at the same time. Gives a nice crunch when used with a pick. These cost a bit more than I’d like, but that’s just fine. These strings are brilliant. Where other strings would go out of tune after awhile, or the intonation would be way off higher up on the neck, these are impressively spot-on. Nice job, DR, you’ve converted a long time Ernie Ball string player. And I’m even playing on an Ernie Ball bass. (Shhh, don’t tell anyone)

Un calibre bien grueso pero no están tan duras, aguas que es para que afines en D en lugar de E, son perfectas para tocar todo lo de Immortal, suenan super increíbles y dura mucho la nota después de tocada, siempre puedes ajustar el alma y afinarlo en E y suenan bien también pero están hechas para que suenen en Drop D. .. After playing on these strings for less than a month, I broke the low e string (125)… And I wasn’t even playing aggressively. I’ve always had issues with the Dr guitar strings breaking.. And now the bass strings… I will never purchase another Dr product again. Better off sticking with earnieball.

If anyone asks what the hell is that, just tell em it’s 2.6 on the Richter Scale. Like good ol’Jack Burton always says at time like this,if some cocky guitar tech tries to ask you have you strung your Bass with those DDT – DR strings and you look that guitar tech in the eyes and say, “only so I can shake the heavens” 🐷🐷🐷

one string snap while i was installing… so never tried the whole set. At the price of those string i am bit disapoint. I tried the string left but didnt like the feel so much so i will stay to my regular brand that gave me good drop tunning. Might be suitable for other

Delivered on time and in good shape. Used these in the studio for recording songs in drop A and drop B tunings on an old (Roadster) Ibanez long scale 4 string bass. Although much better than trying to use standard bass strings for drop tuning, I found the tone somewhat lacking. The strings also seemed a bit more ‘abrasive’ than the regular round wounds I’m used to. The tone was not as bright as what I would expect in a stainless string, which may not be a bad thing for most, but the fullness and bottom end seemed to be lacking on the lowest notes…at least on my set up. The tone was better in the drop B tuning, and noticeably suffered when tuning to a drop A. Tuning was a lot more stable than trying to use standard strings, and there was little time spent trying to get the strings stabilized. All in all, it does what they claim and worked well for what I needed them for.

They sound awesome but I cant tell a difference in the tension when d tuning compared to other strings. I was hoping they would be more tight when tuned below B

This set was perfect for me; might not be for everyone. If you’re considering them, ask yourself if the low B string (the 4th at 125) will seat itself fully in your bridge nut? So, if using a ’round’ file on it scares you, go with a smaller gauge set.
Again, wow, I love this set of strings, I prefer the lower register, and I used to buy 5 string sets for my 4 string Spector. This of course meant I had to pay extra money for a G string I’d never use.

Best strings I’ve ever used for C-standard tuning. Even the 45-105 set for E-standard is amazing. The very expansive midrange helps cut through guitars like a “warm” vorpal sword. That’s right! I said warm and cut through! No other bass string I know can accomplish this. Not even DR’s other string sets! And the growl! It’s like holding on to a lions throat when he roars! I’ve been playing bass in metal, alternative, punk, shoegazer & prog bands since 1989. I’ve played strings from everyone out there. None of them can touch DR DDT strings. I’ve been playing them now for 3 years and I won’t play anything else.

I’ve used DR strings on all my bass guitars . I mostly play metal , stoner , sludge and top heavy blues . If you play in C standard or lower , I highly recommend these . The bottom string is where you will get that earth rattling you obsess over. It’s a no brainer . These ARE the best strings and they will stay tuned through you’re whole set .Currently using these on my Warwick and it sounds like thunder . Go for it !
