I decided to get a cheaper capture card, I got a 4k HDMI Video Capture Card and was worried I might need a headphone splitter with the chat link since the capture card has jacks for both mic and headphones. But it worked perfectly without one! Sound is still clear, cable is nice and long, and it picks up the mic well and I’m very happy with the product

My original Chat Link cable started to wear out and even had some exposed wires after more than 2 years of use, so I decided it was time to bite the bullet and just get a new one. I wasn’t aware the pro version was even a thing but when i saw it had a ground loop isolator, I knew I had to give it a try.
I’ve had an annoying buzzing sound whenever I streamed or recorded on my PS5 because I have to play wired, and I tried fixing it with different filters on OBS but it always ruined the audio. I then bought a separate ground loop isolator, but it always made my game audio really low so i would have to increase the gain but then that would make some feedback audible.
I bought the pro cable, and all of my problems were instantly fixed. There is still a very, very, small buzzing sound but nowhere near what it was before, plus I don’t have to increase the gain on my gameplay to make it audible! This cable also fixed an issue on my Xbox where the center channel audio wasn’t being picked up so cutscenes were impossible to hear.
I’m so happy right now I had to tell someone!

I have a controlled environment for my stream setup, excellent cable management, and I take a lot of care to ensure my electronics are treated carefully to ensure they last.
This product, lasted me about 2 months before it began to fail. The connection to the Xbox controller, began to fail, and while other headsets connected do not have any issues, this cable in the same slot produces a lot of extra feedback both in the Xbox party to other members, and on stream.
I had to stop using the cable because of this issue, and basically avoid capturing any game chat audio. El Gato captures party audio natively, this cable is only necessary for game chat.
I would only recommend purchasing this cable if you absolutely need to record game chat, and if you do, buy several, because it’s likely you’ll only have a few months with each one.

If you are streaming on OBS or any other stream service with a game system this is good use for audio recording. The quality is good especially for the amount of money. And it doesn’t look messy and easy to connect.

I picked this up so I could use the 3.5mm audio from my switch in my headphones while also outputting it to the 3.5mm input on my HD60 S+. I had previously tried this with a basic splitter cable but got a pretty loud buzzing sound on the capture card. This eliminated the buzz entirely.
