Graham Bromley –
Least bright steel roundwound. Typical GHS low mid focus. Definitely a steel string though, they’ve got that focus, punch, clarity and growl you only get from steel. Just less clack and annoying over brightness. One on the smoothest feeling steel strings I’ve tried, probably relatively easy on your frets as a result. Relatively high tension / stiff for the gauge. Grey silks look pretty cool. Retain their tone well. No stupid coloured ball ends.
Chris –
I heard Leland Sklar talk about how he has used these strings for decades and I thought I’d give them a try on my Music Man Stingray Bass. I’m extremely pleased with the tone and feel. They are tonally on the bright side and have a bit of “zing” to them. A lot of roundwound strings feel like you’re running your fingers over a cheese grater, but the Super Steels are quite smooth to the touch. I’m also pleased with how well they stay in tune. Additionally, they’re not too pricey, at least for my budget. All in all, I’m very pleased with these strings. Highly recommended!
