Needed it for a old system, was pricy, but works better then bluetooth, when will google bring some of the old good dead products back .

When it works it’s great, however it now disconnects and will not reconnect. The home app says it can’t verify the authenticity

This unit provides me with a way to stream audiophile-quality (96kHz) music digitally using a mini fiber optic cable (mini TOSLINK) between it and a DAC. I can now stream Hi-Res (up to 96kHz – no higher) audio which is twice the sample rate of a CD, and twice the maximum capability of Airplay 2.
As others have said, the unit comes with a European-type power plug, so you’ll need to supply your own micro USB power cable. Most all have a few of those lying around. Sadly the listing doesn’t mention this, but it’s not a problem at all.
I really couldn’t be happier with this purchase.

This is the second one I’ve purchased to allow myself to play the same streaming music on two systems in different rooms. One is modern and one is vintage. It’s great when I’m moving about the house and want music wherever I go. It’s a great solution for me.

Works as described, was the perfect solution to retrofit the built in ceiling speakers in the home we purchased and have them work with our Google Home echo system. My only regret is not buying these before they were discontinued. Supply and demand have these being pricey compared to their video counter parts.

New-in-box Google Chromecast Audio works exactly as expected. At $80 – more than double the $35 MSRP – the value becomes questionable, but for those invested in the Chromecast ecosystem, this is close to the best price available for this discontinued product. As mentioned in other reviews, the OEM USB charger comes with a European style plug; however, the seller threw in an unpackaged 2-amp Samsung USB charger compatible with US receptacles. The Samsung plug is bulkier than the original but does the job.

Despite the slight warmth, which seems typical, living in Sweden makes things rather pricey. Nevertheless, this product works wonderfully and effectively solved my issue. I highly recommend it.
