My new finch feeder has a perfect design, and holds a lot of seeds. The cone -shaped roof allows the rain drops to roll off, and gives the birds protection. The roof comes off easily for filling, and the bottom tray also comes off easily! The bronze color is so pretty! I am very happy with this purchase!

I bought this to replace a feeder that had simply aged out of usefulness and because thistle socks were not working for me. I had a plastic Nyjer seed feeder that had cracked and the moisture was ruining the seed. The same thing happened to the thistle socks, and besides that, the socks would get ripped. Nyjer seed is relatively costly and I liked this feeder because of its little copper ‘roof’. It hasn’t rained yet, so I can’t say whether it’s effective or not. The feeder looks very sturdy, and it’s very easy to assemble and disassemble. Both the top and the bottom open by unscrewing just a few turns. I much prefer this to ones that pull open or closed, and I like that it’s just a few quick turns and not a big ordeal to get it open. It’s very easy to fill from the top and it looks as easy to clean from the bottom, although I haven’t had to clean it as yet. The wire mesh middle is more heavy-duty than most and keeps its shape even when both the top and bottom are removed. The shallow tray at the bottom catches stray seeds and provides a place for birds to perch. The mesh design also allows birds a place to hang on while feeding. I also like that the size allows for multiple birds to feed at the same time. So far, it’s attracting a variety of finches to the bird pole in my yard. I thought this was a fair price for the quality of the feeder and I wouldn’t hesitate to buy it again.

My goldfinch has stopped coming to my thistle feeder. I got this one and the very day I filled and hung it up I had SEVEN goldfinch on the feeder within an hour. They love it. The tray at the bottom saves waste, and the overhang on the top keep the rain off. It is sturdy and attractive, and hold alot of seed!

I have finches, titmice, nut hatches along with many other species in my backyard. The feeder arrived and I absolutely loved it. Well packed; good quality; easy to fill and it was priced fairly. Now here comes the hate part…none of the birds (or even squirrels) will eat from it. I’ve tried 4 or 5 types of food. It is hanging on the same pole as the other feeders and the finches and other birds (and squirrels) eat from them instead. Disappointed but will probably turn it into a cute LED lantern. 😆 Back to love again!

On the plus, feeder is beautiful and sturdy. Wanted a feeder that squirrels couldn’t chew and so far they haven’t. However, Niger seeds fall through the wire mesh very easily, landing in the tray and overflowing. Saw a big mourning dove sitting sideways on the tray, eating the seeds so that is a benefit. Overall, happy with this feeder.
