Got this for my kid who plays clarinet, he was going thru wooden reeds quicker than he should because they would splinter but this one so far seems to be lasting for him.it plays just as well if not better. he says it’s comfortable, and fit his clarinet perfect.

I have a plastic reed because of how bad I would squeak on a wooden one. Ever since I’ve been on plastic I don’t want to go back. They are perfect. I am always in tune and there aren’t any squeaks. This brand is absolutely amazing. I accidentally ordered the wrong one and they were able to exchange it for the right one. I am a little airy sounding now but I feel that is only because I went up in strength going from a 3 to 3.5. One thing that surprised me is that it came with a case!! I didn’t not expect that because my last one with the same brand had no case at all. Not even one like the wooden reeds. This case is actually nice too! It’s like a coffin. I am in love with this reed. I do not suggest this for beginners. A beginner should start on a 2 reed not 3.5 but other thank thickness my teacher does not want people playing on plastic reeds but seeing as how it was a fix for a problem I was having it may be for you. I wouldn’t suggest getting one without guidance. The lifespan of these are fantastic but to go and buy one for $25 and not know if it’ll work for you or not is a chance that does not always come out with a good outcome. If you do decide to get a plastic reed this companies quality is great.

legere is one of many trusted makers of synthetic reeds. they are responsive and good quality. it is easy to play as you don’t need to break them in and the tone is nice. sizing and reed strength as well as fit will be the same as a cane reed.

Synthetics have absolutely been given a bad rep.
While this doesn’t replace a good quality reed, it effectively eliminates the headache of preparing multiple batches and worrying about waterlogged reeds just to practice.
As a beginner, I was able to just “plug and play”, and immediately get a solid sound out of it. This will allow me to learn the instrument and fix issues that are me related without questioning if my reed is prepared right, broken in well, chipped, etc.
Since Synthetics don’t require wetting and aren’t susceptible to moisture, this further works in my favor as my place is hard to control humidity in.
Highly recommend as a primary practice tool and an emergency backup, it was well worth the expense. Plan to order their other options.

I usually use Legere synthetics on my larger instruments (bari sax, bass and contrabass clarinet) but I have been trying these for when aI am playing in an orchestra pit. They work great and are ready to play as soon as you grab your instrument after a quick change during a musical.

I cannot talk to much about the sound quality and all that because I’m a beginner, but I tried cane reeds before this one the same day and it was too annoying dealing with them. This one I just need to properly put it on the mouthpiece and just worry about developing my embouchure.
Note: ai found that the first day the reed felt more hard but the next day it was more easy to play and didn’t have too much resistance.

If you are coming from vandoren classics, these reed sizes feel different. I came from a selmer Bb echo with Vandoren 3s and 3.5 legere classics are slightly thinner but relatively the same. But the fact that I don’t need to warm up to sound my best is great, I just pick it up and get a good tone without spending 30 minutes. And the fact that this reed gives you such a consistent sound means that your reed won’t fail during a performance. I highly recommend this reed for constant practice or any outside use

Empecé a tocar el clarinete hace quince días y las cañas de bambú no me duraban nada., entre la saliva y la colocación de las mismas., por no hablar de los soplidos y pitidos que me salen peleándome con la embocadura. Vi un vídeo de alguien que recomendaba esta caña sintética y ha sido todo un acierto. Se coloca fácilmente, no se deteriora con la saliva y nada más quitarla de la boquilla, basta pasarle un pañuelito y ya está seca y lista para guardar. Así que la recomiendo por su durabilidad y resistencia. En cuanto al sonido, a nivel de principante no noto ninguna diferencia con las de bambú, puesto que aún estoy “peleándome” con la embocadura y la .digitación. La recomiendo encarecidamente.
