Let’s just start this off by saying that NOTHING is going to compete with real, whole, minimally-processed ACTUAL food.
But in this ultra-busy, grab you by the back of your neck and slamming you up against the
bar room wall, tapping the back of your favorite head against the seedy filth of the bar room elements, all the while looking you crooked in the eye, asking you if you’ve “paid your dues”, kinda world:
This is a great way to stare that big hairy ape right back in the eye and say, “Yes sir, the check’s in the mail!”
Protein bars SUCK. But they are a great way to get Macros. Well… they are A way to get Macros, especially when you are extremely busy. Let’s be real, though: most of them taste either like cardboard or crap. Or crap on cardboard. Oh, sure, Gary also says his protein bars are GREAT, but we all know that’s not true. These ones, however, taste absolutely fabulous!
The only flavor I am not absolutely in love with is the apple crisp flavor. There is something a little “off” about that one. Sort of like that kid in 8th grade who keeps licking the window. The best flavor, by far, has got to be the “Super Cookie Crunch”. It tastes straight up like Oreo Cookies! And who here hasn’t sat down and crushed an entire bag of Oreo Cookies? Especially when you’ve opened that bag, lying to yourself, knowing fully well that you WEREN’T just “only going to eat one or two…”. Show of hands? Anyone? Gary, put your frigging hand down! Every one here knows that you are a liar!
Anyway, these things don’t make be want to gargle my mouth out with broken glass after eating them. I love ’em and they are a great pick-me-up when I am running short on time and I don’t want to run out of steam right before hitting the gym after spending all day driving the ol’ “Pork Chop Express.”
You really can’t go wrong with these. Just be aware that even though the sugar is very low in these things and they taste frigging amazing, you still need to eat ACTUAL, REAL human food. Unless you’re a cat. Then you should probably eat cat food. I’m not sure about a Thunder Cat, though. They might be able to eat people food.

These are excellent for meal replacement. They satisfy the hunger. When I eat one for breakfast, it will satisfy my appetite till far after lunch time. In fact, I’m considering skipping lunch as a way of decreasing caloric intake. Additionally, they have good combination of protein, vitamins, minerals, and carbs. They are more expensive than other bars with similar properties. But, they are by far better tasting. One of the bad things about most of these types of products is the taste. This one I could actually eat as a snack just for pleasure!! It does not have that cardboard taste so many do. Take a look at sugars and sugar alcohol numbers. They do have the sugar alcohols, but it has not caused me any gas or diarrhea issues that sometimes come with sugar or grain alcohols. I do wish I could find a coupon I could use on Amazon.

The Met Rx Super Cookie Crunch bars are a great meal replacement option or pre- or post-workout snack. They don’t have the usual protein bar taste and texture. These taste really good and fill me up for hours. They’re a bit pricy at around $3 each, but cheaper than running through the drive-through somewhere. I’ve been purchasing them at the grocery store, and like them so much I decided to look for them on Amazon. I signed up for subscribe and save, and received my first shipment today. The product box was open, it was smashed, and one of the bars was missing. Did someone in Amazon’s warehouse help themselves? Are you not giving your employees meal breaks, Amazon??? Who thought that this was OK? I’m canceling the subscribe and save option, and will go back to buying them at the grocery store. The little bit of savings is not worth it.

Having tried many different protein bars I think I had realistic expectations. Not expecting them to taste incredible but I have to say the Vanilla Caramel Churro tastes horrible and ruined the whole purchase(might return then if I could be bothered), Super Cookie Crunch is good, Peanut Butter Crunch is great.

I was glad the fruity crunch bars were on sale at 19$ and some change since for a 9 pack they seem to go for more on the main site. The bars are thick obviously and hefty; the fruity crunch in particular gives your jaw a mini workout I swear, that might happen more since I don’t work my jaw like some people might. Flavor is decent initially, and I don’t know why I only taste it with this flavor (because I’ve had the crispy apple pie, and super cookie crunch, both of which i thoroughly enjoyed all around, was like a high calorie candy bar plus softer also by comparison) I get a noticeable, posssibly soy aftertaste that kind of grows as you finish the bar…not my favorite. Some people might really enjoy this flavor, it’s just not for me 6/10.
