From the moment I unboxed the Razer BlackShark V2 HyperSpeed Wireless Gaming Headset, I knew I was in for an extraordinary gaming journey. This headset is not just a piece of technology; it’s a game-changer in the truest sense.
**1. Feather-Light Comfort:**
Firstly, the 280g lightweight design is nothing short of revolutionary. Long gaming sessions can often lead to discomfort, but with the BlackShark V2, it almost feels like wearing air. The headset sits comfortably on your head, ensuring that your focus is entirely on the game, not on adjusting your headset.
**2. Immersive Audio Experience:**
The THX Spatial Audio is a marvel. It’s like having a high-end surround sound system right in your ears. The audio quality is crisp, clear, and balanced, allowing you to hear every detail in your game. From the subtle footsteps of an enemy sneaking up behind you to the roaring engines in a high-speed chase, the sound is so lifelike, it completely immerses you in your gaming world.
**3. Crystal Clear Communication:**
The bendable mic is another standout feature. It’s not just flexible; it’s also incredibly clear. Communication with teammates is flawless, with no background noise or interference. The mic picks up your voice with such clarity, it feels like you’re in the same room with your team.
**4. Powerful Drivers for Dynamic Sound:**
The 50mm drivers in this headset are a powerhouse. They deliver sound that’s not just loud but rich and nuanced. Whether it’s the subtle guitar strumming in a game’s soundtrack or the booming explosions in an action-packed scene, the audio quality remains top-notch.
**5. Versatile Connectivity:**
The options of 2.4GHz, Bluetooth, or USB connectivity make this headset incredibly versatile. Whether you’re gaming on a PC, console, or mobile device, the BlackShark V2 has got you covered. The seamless switching between devices is a huge plus, making it a great all-in-one headset for all your gaming needs.
**6. Marathon Battery Life:**
The 70-hour battery life is simply astounding. Knowing that your headset can last for days on a single charge is incredibly reassuring. And when you do need to power up, the USB Type-C charging is quick and convenient.
**7. Sleek Aesthetic:**
Lastly, the design and aesthetic of the headset deserve a mention. The sleek black look is stylish and professional, making it a great accessory for gaming setups and workstations.
In conclusion, the Razer BlackShark V2 HyperSpeed Wireless Gaming Headset is a masterpiece of gaming technology. It’s comfortable, offers exceptional sound quality, has a fantastic mic, versatile connectivity options, and a battery life that keeps you gaming for days. It’s not just a headset; it’s an indispensable tool for any serious gamer looking to elevate their gaming experience. Highly recommended!

These work really well with or without the app, build quality is good, and they’re comfortable to wear for long hours.
Battery life is around three days of on time and I have never had them die on me in six months of daily use. Sound quality is pretty good, but I think it’s a bit tinny. You can adjust levels somewhat with Razer’s app though.
I love how you can connect these to your phone via Bluetooth and the audio will seamlessly failover to the Bluetooth connection when you take a call.

I had to ditch my Alienware headset (AW720H) due to its feature that will bug Discord while I game.
I’ve used previous generation of Black Sharks product line and they are always known as affordable but yet high quality. This one is no exception : Build quality is good enough for a gaming headset plus the rich features. This can be used as a pair of bluetooth headphones but I havent tried it with my phone.
Mic quality is very good and my friends have noticed a significant quality improvement. They are also very lightweight for a pair of gaming headset. You do not connect these via USB dongle like you usually do : instead, the 2.4ghz connector is a wired USB-C “connector-ish” thing : you will get LED indicator on it .
The sound quality for some reason, it does sound slightly muddy for me somehow : I tried to tune it but it still lacks a lot of that punch. That is a minor issue and I still would like to believe that I need to do some tunings. But without any tunings, they do not sound as good as my old Alienware AW 720H, unfortunately. But I will take the supreme comfort, mic quality and way better software.
Apparently they do support wired mode but I have not tried it and I dont plan on using them with wires. Generally speaking, gaming headset market is a somewhat flooded sector and if you really do not know which one to pick, this model is a very safe pick if you are looking for comfort and mic quality. I will use them in my meetings to see how my colleagues think.

Update: I realized the small update on Synapse wasn’t enough, I went on the Razer site and got the updates for the dongle and headset. Out of the box it was at version 1.3 after updating both, both where at version 1.5. Headset works much better!!!!
A quick google search for the update. 😊
I was due for an upgrade and wanted a wireless option.
( This headset also has a wired option which is pretty nice ) No complaints thus far. Had to update firmware on Synapse but nothing to complicated. Had to custom adjust the sound to my ears liking. Great audio. Mic works really well. Easy to use on Synapse. Over ear & comfortable. Mic isn’t detachable.
Design is really nice! 😍. Lightweight.
Bluetooth works great also!
Fast shipping and box came on great condition!

Well, at least, my 5+ year headset(I just need the wireless for exercise, I can plug it in to the PC if I need to)…
You can hear that they took the Razer Blackshark V2 Pro’s drivers and put them in these.
The sound quality is superb, I can’t really knock it because while it feels a little weak on bass, my Blackshark V2 X’s were heavy on bass, so that is probably it. Plus, Razer Synapse makes it easy to EQ them to have a bit of a bass bump. Funny thing, EQ’s work as long as you follow the ‘zero’ rule. Set the highest band on the EQ to 0DB and go from there. Then just turn up the headsest itself. The Blackshark V2 X and Hyperspeed are both loud enough that this is fine.
Install the firmware!!! It’s pretty straightforward and easy as long as you have a PC(why would you buy these otherwise?)… just do the usual firmware rules, make sure it’s plugged in and staying that way etc…
It’s worth the trouble.
When you connect it to bluetooth, you can double-tap the right button to switch between the PC wireless and the bluetooth. Both preserve the superb sound quality. I guess I’m too deaf to notice bluetooth compression!
And finally, use the included USB cable if at all possible. It acted finnicky when I tried to use my own. Might try it again, as my own cord is 10 feet while the Hyperspeed’s is 6 feet.
But with a 70 hour battery, I suspect I’ll never need to use it wired as long as I charge it every night.
That’s the only downside of this headset: There’s no way to keep the charge between 30% and 80%, so they will die in, what, 5 years or so? Ouch. But I don’t think any headset displays exact enough battery information to regulate the charge like this, so is it really a downside if it applies to everything?
The microphone is a huge improvement over the Blackshark V2 X… but it’s a much more expensive headset so that’s to be expected to some degree. But it’s really good. It’s not gonna be a Snowball or Yeti, but I think that’s obvious.
Razer earned their 5 stars on this one. I made a spreadsheet of a bunch of headsets and their downsides before buying. This headset had the most bearable downsides(on paper before I bought it) so it’s the one I chose. I chose wisely.

I already owned the blackshark v2 wired headset before this, and this is essentially thay same thing but also wireless.
I use mine for working from home and never had any complaints about mic quality or background noise of any kind.
Battery life is great, easily around the 70 hours they claim, I can make it through about 6 full working days at 9 hours a day and then part of another day.
Only con is the mic not being removable like my old one, but I’ve also misplaced that mic before so now I can’t lose it.
As others have mentioned you will need to update the firmware out of the box to get it to work properly with the dongle. It’s a pretty straight forward process, but you will want to use your own computer to do it as most work places don’t let you install software of your own.

This headset felt great on my head and was very excited to get it set up. i got it set up, downloaded all the req. software, connected the dongle to my pc, and come to find out, the headset is pure garbage. it continuously disconnects from bluetooth every 60-90 seconds. the longest i was able to have it connected was around 3 minutes. the sound is good whenever it stops telling me it disconnected and connected. so good sound but cannot stay connected. then i tested out the mic and the mic is dookie too. it made my voice sound like a drug addicted gremlin. the audio was very scratchy and sounded pathetic. i was very excited for this headset after doing a ton of research for a quality product. i clearly made a mistake buying from these guys and hope you guys don’t get ripped off too!
