    What the dr recommend

My eye doctor recommends only Refresh or one other eye drop and insists that I avoid all store brands. Preservative Free (PF) products are best if using the drops more than twice daily since the preservatives can actually cause irritation for some people.

I tried drops from the two manufacturers and I find that these do by far the best job lubricating the eyes for a long period of time. The bottle has a special design to help keep the contents sterile. That design SOMETIMES causes a delay in producing the first drop for the first eye; that delay can be 3-4 seconds typically and sometimes more than 10 seconds. Subsequent drops for either eye will come out quickly.

This is a clear solution. No shaking of the bottle required before dispensing drops. Before first use, of course, it must be primed by dispensing a drop onto a tissue or into the sink.

Once opened, the bottle may be used for up to 90 days, after which the manufacturer says to discard it. I find that when using the drops two to three times daily the bottle lasts 2+ months.

One other somewhat annoying aspect: Inside the cap there is a small white pad. When closed, I think this pad may help keep the bottle tip dry and clean. That pad has come loose in two different bottles after 6-8 weeks of use. I have not spoken with the manufacturer about this, but it seems best to discard the bottle once this pad comes loose unless you can push it back in place using the tip of the bottle.

The bottle is a much “greener” (sustainable) product than the single-use plastic dispensers, although I keep some of those with me when away from home in case I need to re-wet my eyes.

Overall, an excellent lubricating product despite the packaging flaws.

I purchased this product based on a recommendation by a friend who is an Ophthalmologist. I have extremely dry eyes that became exacerbated after surgery. I thought that if he recommended it, I can trust his opinion. While the drops do a very good job, dispensing the drops is a nightmare. It takes forever for them to come down and by then, I have usually lost my target site, and I end up getting it on my face instead. Considering that these drops are PF and therefore more expensive, I feel like I am throwing my money down the drain. Out of sheer frustration, I decided stop using them and am now looking for another brand that is more user friendly.

My eyes are very sensitive to the chemicals in eye care products. I’m unable to use most eye drops, including other preservative-free products. But these work for me. Finally my vision is clearing, and clouds and fog are going away. They don’t make my eyes sting and burn, but they feel cool and refreshed. I use them 3 times a day.

What I don’t like about this product is the packaging and the bottle itself. You have to take off a big piece of a plastic cap first, about the same size as the bottle itself, that gets tossed into a landfill. There is another bottle cap underneath that. It pops on and off rather than screws on, which I actually kind of like. The bottle itself is really hard to squeeze! The bottle is specially designed help you dispense only one drop at a time rather than squeezing too hard and wasting a drop or two too much. I have hand arthritis, and I usually need to use both hands to squeeze this tiny bottle. It’s a silly unnecessary design in my opinion, and I still miss my eye and waste product just as often as with a normal bottle of eye drops. I just have to work harder to create this waste.

I’ll still buy the product, but I really wish they’d put it in a better bottle.

It is expensive for the quantity and has a weird dropper system. It takes some getting used to the dispensing. You have to squeeze the bottle hard to get a drop out. For someone with weaker strength it might be difficult.

After reading a LOT of reviews I decided to take a chance on these drops. I had received samples from the ophthalmologist but they were in the single use packaging. Since I liked how the drops made my eyes feel I decided to buy these.

First off these preservative free drops, across brands, come in this weird little bottle that some find difficult to navigate. I came up with a solution that works very well for me.

After I shake it I turn the bottle over and gently squeeze/pump the bottle til a drop appears. I then aim over my eye, continue pumping until one perfect drop drops into my eye. I then repeat for the other eye.

After LASIK the doctor instructed me use this every 2 hours or more. Works great at hydrating the eye and can be used as frequently as needed since there are no preservatives. If you don’t plan on using it every couple of hours you can probably save some money and go with the one that’s not Preservative Free.
