Ordered a string set, only received one E string. Returned for a replacement and the same thing happened again! Very poor

The strings might be ok. But they were smashed ir pressed so hard the ball ends broke through the paper. See picture. Not good.

The image in the link is not what you receive, you receive a package of normal Dominant violin strings, the image is fake, and the strings are so normal….

I purchased this string set to replace the older ones on my violin. After putting them on, it took a few days for them to break in without having to retune them, but they are now fairly stable. Originally my violin sounded like I was playing inside of a tin can, but the sound quickly improved once I played on them for a day or two. I’m not a professional, but would guess that this process I just described is probably normal when it comes to changing strings. My teacher recommended this brand for its quality, which after having used them for a number of years now, I would have to agree is quite excellent.

The Dominant strings sets the standard for synthetic violin strings, and is usually the default string to put on an instrument. It is middle of the road, and gives a pretty decent, although somewhat sterile, tone. When it is new, there is a slight metallic feel, but that goes away after it is stretched out. They last about 2-3 months, fairly bright, but with good overtones, and then gradually get duller. The E string is just ordinary, and many people substitute a different E string (such as Pirastro Gold). I like the Kaplan Solo E string with the Dominant G, D, A.

These are excellent strings and they last for a while, but as instructed to change them by the end of a year or so.

John Smith –
As my daughter is progressing through her violin studies I upgraded from the basic steel strings to gut. The warmer and richer tone with the full size French fiddle is a very good pairing. Much more body when playing.
