Amazon Customer –
My previous version of this watch lasted me 8 years (with a battery change aprox 4 years in). I run a lot and this held up for a long time and always worked as expected. Highly recommend this watch

I bought this watch shortly before taking an international trip; the second day into the trip, the watch was completely dead. Apparently the battery was 99% gone by the time I got my hands on the watch. After returning from the trip, I contacted Timex, who told me to take things up with Amazon (and that, if Amazon didn’t handle things, I could deal with them, but I’d have to pay to ship the watch back for $8, or more than 1/3 the price of the watch). So I contacted Amazon, and they wouldn’t replace the watch either, but give me a “refund” so that I could purchase the watch again. I put “refund” in quotes because it wasn’t for the full value of the watch (maybe 75-80%), with no explanation for why a full refund wasn’t provided, given that I’d been sold a lemon. So between Amazon and Timex, I’ve had to deal with two awful customer service experiences, go to a UPS store to ship a dead watch back to Amazon, all for a watch that cost less than $25 and lasted less than a week, and for which I couldn’t receive a full refund. Not great, Bob.

This was a good watch while it worked. It died 2 months after receiving it. We have had Timex watches for years because they are so reliable and usually last so long. I called Timex and they said they will repair it but I still have to pay an $8 repair fee. I am not happy.

This has been my favorite watch for many years. I always either replace the battery or get a new one of these so I always have this model. I love the thin profile and ease of use of the Indiglo light, chrono stopwatch, which I use constantly, and ease of programming the date, time, and alarm. To me, this beats a smart watch any day. Simple and easy to use with a nice design. Can’t beat that.

This will be my third Timex Ironman. I have a had one for 40 years ever since I started running. This new one seems to have all the same features and is slightly thinner than my old ones which is good. We’ll see how long it lasts.

Perfect fit. Always dependable

This watch is a replacement for an essentially identical one, several years older. When the time came to replace the battery, somehow the alignment of the Start/Split button electrical contacts changes and became intermittent; it became impossible to accurately reset the time and other functions. I’ve replaced a lot of watch batteries and this was unusual, particularly for a Timex watch which are in my opinion the best watches available at a modest price.
I usually use this watch (and its predecessors) just for time of day. Occasionally on travel I have used the “time 2” function for time at the new location, and I definitely use the alarm function when on travel. The Indiglo illumination works well although Casio has a more-readable implementation on its sports watches. And on occasion I use the stopwatch, lap-timing functions and memory.
I prefer these watches to their larger standard Ironman versions because the watch doesn’t catch on my sleeve. Those big Ironman versions for me are annoyingly large and clunky. The electronics portions appear identical in both except for smaller memory in this watch. The major weakness of all of these watches with composite cases and rubbery plastic watchbands was the short lifetime of the watchbands. After several years use they hardened and broke. ALWAYS. But now it appears Timex is using a better quality material and the problem is in the past. At least, I hope so.

I really liked this watch. Great features in a small size. The display layout is uncluttered and easy to read. It has a smaller face so it doesn’t get caught on things like the larger Ironman sized watches. It’s been my goto watch for 2 years. I’ve been swimming with it many times, but this last time I noticed condensation under the glass… then kaput – it died. 90 days passed the warranty date. Waiting to hear back from the support team..
