This is my first drone. The day it arrived the weather was pretty windy but I was so excited I took it out anyway. (The video I attached was taken on a breezy day that’s why it’s a little bouncy. But you get the idea). I’m amazed how well it flew in the windy weather. The GPS system keeps it where it belongs. The camera is beautiful, the app is really user friendly, the features work really well. The waypoint flight path is terrific. All in all I’m super happy with this drone and I’m having lots of fun with it. Tonight I put it in sport mode for the first time just to buzz around my place and that was really fun. In calm weather the batteries last for a long time – it just keeps flying and flying. I love that before I put a memory card in it, it would simply save photos and videos right on my phone as I took them. Super cool feature.
The one downside I’ve run into is that the remote control is losing signal to the drone quite frequently, and I’ve not yet been able to fly it more than about 300 feet away before losing remote control contact, and sometimes contact gets lost less than 200’ away, even flying over my hayfield. If I fly it from my phone controls it reaches a bit further. When contact is broken, the drone stops and returns to its takeoff point, which is pretty nice, but it does seem to spend a lot of time returning home! I’ve been working with customer service to figure this out and I have to say, they’ve been really great to work with, and I’ll certainly update this review when we figure out what’s going on.
Update: it’s a bit sensitive to any obstacles, and the remote antenna needs to be aimed in the right direction. Flying with the phone controls gives a much greater range, though it’s a little harder than using the joystick. If all is clear I can fly out about 700’ before losing contact.
This drone is for real. I’m happy with it, and if the remote range gets straightened out I don’t think I could possibly be happier. I have to say it’s a tough little dude too. I wish I could say I’m an excellent and safe pilot but that wouldn’t be quite true. I’ve brushed the side of my house, stuck it in a tree, and in a particularly dumb moment tried to land it on the roof of the barn, only to have it slide off to the ground. But it just keeps flying. No crashes have ever been the drone’s fault, they’re me taking silly chances. Boys will be boys, and play rough with their toys.

The pictures from this drone are stunning. It is intuitive and easy to use once you get used to it.
Had a few minor problems connecting to the GPS, but once connected it works like a breeze. It hovers brilliantly and lands effortlessly.
Highly recommended

The V11 mini drone is a great little drone. It is easy to setup and fly. The battery lasts as advertised and the camera takes great video and still shots. I tried a couple other drones in this price range and they do not compare to the V11 mini. Wind resistance is good, performance is good, you can’t beat the value for the money. I wanted a drone to document my deck being redone, this drone does it well.

The Veeniix V11mini Drone is a great beginner camera drone. For the price you pay, you get a lot of features that you might only expect to find on a drone that costs a bit more.
It came well packaged in a small case that holds the foldable drone, the controller, two batteries, two charge cables, an extra set of propellers, a small screwdriver, and the instruction/flight manuals.
While the controller (which has a built-in rechargeable battery) and the two flight batteries charged, I read through the comprehensive manuals and downloaded the Veeniix V11Mini app.
The APP also has copies of the manuals, as well as video tutorials either built-in or as YouTube links.
Follow the set-up procedures in the manual in order… unfold and power on the drone, power up the controller, pair the drone and controller, launch the app, select the Veeniix WIFI, calibrate the compass and gyro, and you are good to go.
The drone can be controlled by either the remote control or by virtual controls on the phone app.
The one button take off feature is nice. The motors start up and with a button push it launches and hovers about 4 feet high.
Play around in the default beginner mode for a while to learn how the flight controls work. The beginner mode limits the height and distance so you don’t fly out of visual range while you are learning.
After you get the hang of it, take it off of beginner mode and fly: Up to just shy of the FAA limit of 400’ and out as far away as the signal will allow. In my case because of lots of trees and structures, a bit over a quarter mile.
Picture quality is good on the transmission back to the phone and is probably a good bit better if you have an SD card to record to on the drone, which I do not. If the lighting is good and the drone is hovering, the pictures are surprisingly good… which leads me to my only complaint, that I can’t fault the drone for at this price point: The picture is jerky and bouncy while maneuvering quickly. A gimbal would certainly solve the issue, but then again, if you need a super steady picture all the time, spend the extra money to get the larger V11 with the camera gimbal.
The drone has the ability to follow you (the remote) around. It can circle around a set point. You can plan out a route with waypoints on a map for it to automatically fly. With all of the auto-fly modes, make sure you’re higher or away from any potential obstacles! It also has the ability to split the app screen for use with VR goggles, which I’d love to try sometime! It also has the ability to turn off the GPS so you can fly it indoors. Just do it in a large room… this thing has enough thrust that it can get away from you quickly indoors.
A must have on a drone that can easily fly out of visual range is an auto Return-to-Home feature. This one has several: you can tell it to return home with a button press, or it will do it by itself if the battery is running low or it loses signal from the remote. In all cases, it will pop up/or decsend to the preset return height, fly back to hove rover where it was launched from, then descend and land itself. You can still make corrections if it’s going to hit something.
All in all this is a capable little drone. Small enough to fit in a jacket pocket, it takes nice video and pictures, has decent flight time, and it’s fun! Worth a look.
