Radem44 –
Was trolling the Amazon warehouse deals and saw a Snap-On scraper used for six bucks. Sounded like a great deal, so I ordered it. Got a cheap-looking Chrome Vanadian device that says “Williams” instead of “Snap-On”. Not worth the trouble sending back, so I guess I have a disposable tool now.
tool collector –
Very dissapointed upon opening this scraper. The martin 1/2 inch scraper I recently bought on amazon weighs at least twice as much as the 7/8 williams and has a uber beefy handle w/ a striking cap. I returned to amazon and ordered a 3/4 inch martin scraper to replace the williams.Williams has the build quality of a $5 scraper. Also it’s made in taiwan. The martin is made in USA.The mayhew curved scrapers I bought recently are USA too.

Out of the box, the blade on this scraper was beyond dull – it was actually mangled, full of nicks. The line of the edge was also far from perpendicular to the shaft. The steel, surprisingly, seems quite hard, so correcting these conditions required a considerable amount of work with the sharpening stones. Stay away from aluminum surfaces! At the price, which is not low, my assessment of this tool is that is does not represent good value for the money.
Tom Grosse –
great quality, already in use, stays in my tool box.
Face –
Good craftsmanship and sharp. Shaft could’ve gone all the way threw would be my only issue but I shouldn’t be using a scraper as a chisel anyway
Mr G –
Not a bad little gasket scraper, especially for the price, although I did need to sharpen up the tip because it was very blunt.
Atomic Trent –
Very cheaply made item.
John Gindra –
It’s not a SnapOn It is a JH Williams, I had to take it to a stone to nice sharp/flat edge.
