In brief, this is good if you like a low key, single ear Bluetooth device. It comes with a little cable, which plugs into a small oval cradle, where you charge the device. The device and ONLY be charged in the cradle. The cradle holds the device in, I believe magnetically, so great to thrown in a bag, and the device won’t get lost. The headset is pretty small and yet still has a small boom mic. Sound quality is great. It has no buttons, so all functions are tap based, and very limited. This is low feature, high use, I’d say. The batteries are not strong, so I would not consider it for hours of talking, but to be hands free and low key, these work. The cradle has three lights to show battery life. The piece itself only has a single light that indicates connecting, connected, or failed. So the good and bad is – it is small. Limited battery life. Easy to carry around. Basically unobtrusive. I also used it onsite when I was working to listen to a podcast without anyone else being aware. I did not mark durability, because its way to new, but it has held up in and out of my bag and in and out of my ear. When I pull it from the cradle it pairs, so it is convenient to keep on a desk and grab to answer.

This is something which everyone will notice in your ear, its light weighted and looks like the real bluetooth which I ever expect, Design of this product is just great.
If you are rough and tough then you can select something else, but if you respect your tech things if you really love them and find time to even charge them, then go for it.

Not worth the price, battery is not great. If you are using it for regular calls, it won’t last for more than an hour and you need to charging it again and again. I used Jabra talk 45 before this and that’s much better, I have driven for hours with that device and battery holds very long. You can only use this device in right year, I prefer Plantronics way better than this because of it’s design and ease of use. For this price it’s not at all good.

I have purchased the cheap $25 to $55 units from cheap chinese no name to Planetronics versions. the fact that this uses a soft earbud and doesn’t have that aweful uncomfortable cheap over ear clip makes this a winner. Yes you need to have the charger with you and battery life is a bit short but so much nicer to hear a voice that isn’t tinny and high pitched letting in background noise. Drowns out my wifes voice during road trips which is a plus. Also Reads your text messages which i love… but my wife figured out she can text me from the passenger seat now and it will play clearly to my ear so .When a version with more battery life comes out I’ll be the first to buy the next unit. Worth the $100.

The product battery backup is too low.. even in the pod, its not charging.. i stopped using it with in few weeks and resort back to my sony headphones. Cheap quality product from Jabra.tried to find support or customer care, even that effort went in-vain. I will never buy Jabra products again.

Updated after another week of usage…
This is going back. There’s no way this thing is useful for anything more than an occasional user. After 2 weeks of usage, battery life seems to be about 90 mins fully charged. And for the last 30 of that 90, it’s constantly giving you audio prompts that the battery is low – WHICH INTERRUPT YOUR CALL – so it’s really only useful for about 60 mins. Recharge time is not particularly fast… 45 mins in the cradle only gets you +30% charge, so you can use it for an hour out of every two hours tops.

I thought I had figured it out, but I have no idea who this is designed for. It is very light and the audio quality is good, but who has a need for a headset that doesn’t need it for more than an hour at a time and then always has hour-long breaks between calls?

    Former review:
I’ve been using the Talk 55 daily for my Zoom meeting headset for about a week now, and I think I’m coming to understand the very odd design – and even coming to like it. I had expected a headset with a charging cradle, and instead got something that’s best understood as a single better Airpod with an odd charging case. Like an Airpod, battery life is 3 hours or less, but the recharge through the “case” is very quick. Also like an Airpod, not having a 6+ hour battery and a USB-C charging port makes the earpiece itself small and light – the difference in size and weight between the 45 and the 55 is pretty significant.

All that being said, the “charging case” is a weird design. It’s too thick to comfortably go in your pocket, and it doesn’t close- the earpiece is held in by magnets but easily can be knocked out if it’s banging around in a briefcase. The outer material of the case is grippy, so again you really can’t put it in your pocket. I don’t know why they bothered to make the “charging case” and essentially make the case impossible to carry anywhere unless you put it in another case (your Jabra charging case case?)?

The charging case does work really well as a desktop cradle, and I rarely have more than 3 straight hours of calls where I don’t have a few minutes to pull the earpiece out and drop it in the charger. It’s really convenient to be able to drop it in the cradle and grab it out of the cradle when you need it vs. finding a USB cable and opening the cover to the charging port, pulling the USB cable out, closing the charging point and then turning the headset on. It raises the question why they didn’t just make it a desktop cradle and do away with the whole “charging case” pretext.

Everything else is what you’d expect from a Jabra USB headset. Noise cancelling is good, sound quality is good, the ability to pair to two devices simultaneously is really nice. It pairs up right away with no drama every time you grab it.

Really disappointed in battery life. After 1 month only has an hour of talk time?!? The sound is good, but not worth the money because of the battery. Wish I could return but only days past the return date.

I really wanted to love this Jabra Talk 55 headset. I bought it to replace the Plantronics headsets I have had before Plantronics decided to get out of the mobile business. Plantronics made some very good performing monophonic headsets. Now this Jabra Talk 55 is styled very similar to some of the Plantronics headsets, which I really liked. It performs well, except that it does not allow as much outside sound to bypass the headset so the user can hear the outside sounds as well. The Plantronics headsets did this passively. The Jabra Talk 55 can amplify the outside sounds, but that comes at the cost of battery life. This headset does not feel as secure in my ear as my Plantronics headsets, but that could be due to my specific ear. Others may be OK. The sound quality is quite good, although I would like it to be a bit louder. The available app is pretty much useless in my opinion. I could do with out it. The charging dock/case is styled well also. However, the headset does not stay positively seated in the charger when stored in a pocket and sometimes becomes disconnected and turned on without notice and draining its battery. I have been using this headset since September 2021. We will see how long this unit works and I will try to add more updates.
