I bought this in November 2022 as a replacement for an Acer projector. This projector worked well for the first 10 months. Auto keystone adjustment works great, colors look good and it is bright enough even in lighter rooms (of course it can’t compete with sunshine).
Recently it started to develop a very annoying bug: When you turn it off the fan turns to high speed. That’s normal, after a second it would usually turn it off. But now it stays on high and the projector is dead. It can’t be turned on anymore. It doesn’t take any input (no matter if from the remote or the little buttons on the projector). You can even unplug it… since it has an integrated battery it will just keep running until the battery is dead (haven’t tried that yet). It does have a power switch on the unit that also disconnects the battery. That is the only way to turn it off.
On the flip side: when you turn the power switch back on, sometimes it stays in standby, sometimes it turns on immediately (which is again very annoying).
Amazon isn’t of any help, they just tell you to call LG. I did that, they sent me to a repair center, but the repair center is moving and doesn’t accept any new orders. Calling back to LG they just say I should go back to Amazon. They would not extend my warranty or offer any other means to look into the issue. Pretty poor customer support for a > $500 device.
Well I guess I’ll try my luck next month with the service center and hope I can get it in before my warranty expires. LG didn’t want to do anything really to help out in this situation.

This is the third portable projector I’ve had in the last few years, and of the three, this one has stood up to daily use the best. That being said, the only reason for that was because I kept the power saving mode at maximum unless I wanted to watch something at the highest res possible. The fan can also be a bit loud (on min energy saving) after a while, but nothing it’s nothing too drastic. I’m not sure how newer portable projectors stand up to this one, but I’m still happy enough with this one that I don’t really need to know.

purchased this with high hopes of being what everyone said it would be. sadly when we opened it the owners manual was not in it nor was some of the parts needed to work it. with that being said we were unable to get those parts shipped. we did how ever find a manual on line but are still trying to find some of the cords needed for using this. word of advise open the package the day you get it even if your sick or dealing with things, because if you don’t its all on you. hopefully i can find the missing parts and order them

First of all, I know there would be a lot like me – yes I also had looked at those cheaper brands, that you can’t really exactly remember their gibberish looking names – yes, those sjrieaotjirao and andiotagniprao and fjioewhgiorajirgoaj;hra
So if you were looking at those budget ones, this one probably feels out of your budget :’)
It was like that for me, but I braved through am very happy with this investment. I got this about 4 months ago when it was strangely a little cheaper..
Upsides that I noticed on quick comparison to the cheaper, Chinese(?) brands (tried two, returned right away):
– very light, small, and portable with the cute pouch it comes with and the chargeable battery (I think it’s integrated, unremovable).
– seemingly sturdier design – once my cat had knocked it over a high table onto solid floor – I was terrified but no signs of damage seen for the following weeks that’s been.
– great, EVEN image quality – the biggest I noticed with the cheaper ones is that the image isn’t focused evenly across the screen
– automatic keystone that actually works – I don’t know how good or mediocre this is comparably to better models, but it helps and works for me.
– stable software – the interface and OS feels just like the regular LG TVs (not smart TV options, but the TV settings etc.)
– much quieter than the cheaper brands. the fan is still loud enough to know that it’s running, but not to a point where you would notice it while watching something (and I usually sit literally right next to it).
Downsides, not comparing to the cheaper models – I don’t think there’s any downside to the couple of cheaper projectors I tried before getting this.
– Lower resolution – this isn’t a problem for me because I’m using it in a very close setting. The image can still be set to view very sharp, but I believe it’s only 2K.
– (probably) Not brighter than most better models – but again for me, it’s bright enough to watch things without complaints even during day with curtains half drawn to be dim (like a very overcast day). Plus, I’m not using a projector screen but shooting it to a blank white-paint wall. I assume most people are like me, who work/study during the day and watching times are during the evenings, so not many instances where I watch something on broad daylight. If you are sensitive to good resolution/colour accuracy, budget projectors in general should probably not be your direction to go. I work in visual entertainment field so I have appreciation for good quality screens, but also have a very low standard for personal enjoyment.
– Low quality integrated speaker – this isn’t also a downside, just wanted to note that for my personal taste, the integrated audio just isn’t good enough for anything. It’s like watching something big but hearing it from a phone speaker (or maybe slightly worse than that). I would recommend getting separate speakers (I got the cheapest LG sound bar with Bluetooth, which just has quality as good as a regular TV speaker)
Worries;
– There is no cover for the lens – is this an issue? I don’t know.
– Because this is also my first time trying out a projector, I have a very slight worry about the lamp life. But we’ll see!
TMI:
– I paired this with the Roku device, and it’s perfect for me!

Don’t get me wrong, this is a great little projector but after daily use for only 1 year the LED lense gave out and now I have a super blurry and burnt looking screen. Still otherwise functioning properly but completely unusable in its condition. I expected better from LG.

I am an artist and I bought it to project photos to project on my canvas to make a drawing to paint. A well known artist recommended it. I am very senior and my granddaughter installed it and it works perfectly with her android cell phone, but she couldn’t figure out how to make it work with my I-phone. There are no instructions how to use it with an I-phone. I havea to find someone who can figure it out for me so I can’t use it until I do. I am so disappointed bcause it will save stress on my eyes drawing lace, bird nests and such. She couoldn’t find any info on the internet that told us what we need, but it is a beautiful cleara picture in total daylight if used with her android cell phone.

Picture mode only stays on 5 min’s. then shuts off. Tried contactin the LG co. 3 X’s but they NEVER RESPONDED!

I bought one of these projectors last Summer. It was a great little projector, aside from the weak speaker. It worked great with Bluetooth audio devices, though. The problem was the bulb. The projection became darker and darker. Upon calling LG customer support, I learned that the only fix was to send the projector to LG for them to repair it for $450 USD. There was no way to me to repair it at home. Well, I didn’t want to spend more on a repair than the thing originally cost, so I bought this one. I believe this was advertised as refurbished. When I received the projector, I immediately plugged it in and found the bulb to be even worse than the one I originally had. So, either the seller was unsure of what he or she was selling, or he or she was trying to put one over on me. If LG could figure out the bulb problem, this would be an awesome little projector.
