TrackPad (o touchpad) esta rara, es lo único que no me gusta de la computadora.

This is an excellent laptop for a college student or some one who just needs a laptop. It seems fairly sturdy and has a nice bright screen. It probably has enough power for 99% of people out there.

I wanted to get a laptop that I could use when it was too hot in my apartment to use my hulking monstrosity that is my main computer. It’s ridiculously built and creates so much heat that it can raise the temperature in my apartment a few degrees an hour if it’s running full tilt without the A/C on. This, so far, has been the best that I could find without spending needless amounts of money on more needless features like OLED displays, WQXA resolutions, more RAM than I needed, etc etc. I would say the onyl thing I don’t like about it is the keyboard isn’t backlit so I can’t use it at night until I’m truly comfortable with the keyboard layout, and that the HDMI can’t run my desk display at full refresh rate. I don’t care that it’s not touchscreen. Honestly I must’ve overlooked that feature because when I read reviews that it wasn’t as described, I touched it, and laughed cause I thought people bought the wrong laptop. But it is indeed not touchscreen like described, but I don’t want my last paws all over my display anyways.

    Pros:
NVME storage instead of an older SSD.
The RAM is indeed able to be increased through 1 stick up to 40GB which I intend to do soon.
Screen is 16×10 which is nice for when I am using it outside of it being attached to my desk monitor.
It’s fast and responsive and the BIOS is quite nice. (wished motherboard manufacturers made BIOS this nice)
Battery life is pretty decent (I’ve gotten about 8 hours of usage when it’s hooked up to my desktop display and the laptop display isn’t used.)

    Cons
HDMI isn’t 2.1 so it can’t run my Samsung G8 OLED Ultrawide at full tilt, but I don’t game on it so 100hz is good enough for me.
Never been a fan of soldered RAM, even if it is still upgradable as 12th gen can use faster ram effectively unlike previous intel generations
Would’ve at least liked 3.2 Gen 2 on the usb-c for external storage speeds.

    Don’t really care about
Touchscreeen xD. Seeing as the laptop only opens to 180 degrees it’s honestly pointless to have a touchscreen as it’d be highly uncomfortable to use. Get a Yoga or a laptop that can open completely if you want touch screen.

Update August 13th: I’ve ran into some issues with the intel CPU that I didn’t think I would since it was 12th gen. The bios firmware is heavily out of date and Asus hasn’t released anything for it so the laptop lags under some workloads that it shouldn’t. Also the E-cores aren’t boosting as they should and the P-cores aren’t either. This CPU should be able to boost to 4.4Ghz on P-cores, but it’s never made it past 3.46Ghz at all. Not sure why this is happening, but as Asus doesn’t have any new updates I can install and I’ve already installed all of windows updates I can only say it’s most likely an issue with the laptop itself. So I’m going from 4 stars to 2 and I’m sending it back.

ANYTIME you buy an Asus laptop on amazon it shows it with model number that is difficult to track. There is a program called HWInfo that will give you the REAL model number as X1605ZA. You can find more information on the Internet with that than the model number Amazon lists. I have had Asus laptops for years and really liked them all. This one is no exception. There isn’t a lot of extra crap software installed. The only thing I uninstalled is the McAfee that it comes with (Not my preferred Anti Virus software) There is 8GB soldered on the main board somewhere, but there is also a single SO-DIMM slot (The configuration I bought came with a 8GB stick in it so I had a total of 16GB when I bought it.) that will take at least a 32GB stick. That is the biggest I have tried and it works fine. If you run the Crucial scan it will not be able to determine what it is capable of but if you search for the base model for this as Asus X1605ZA you will find answers. So I have a total of 40GB of RAM on mine and I love it!!

The media could not be loaded.

the computer is great. Back lit board, a 10 key, excellent quality. I do love the Vivobook line. Fantastic quality, excellent video quality, great screen resolution. Very fast and easy to use.

Like the laptop! Much different then any of the prior laptops I’ve had. Surprised how much cooler this one is, maybe its the SSD. Still not quite comfortable with the touch pad control without control buttons, but I’ll get used to it in time, I guess
Battery life seems short, but maybe that’s just because everything is taking a little longer because I’m not yet used to the machine

I don’t know much about computers but I’ve been using it for less than 30 days and it’s starting to be very slow. Search engines taking too long for this day and age to load, trying to watch a show on a streaming service isn’t loading and affecting the quality of the show. Now this can’t be the internet because my roommate’s laptop works fine.

Also to the person who was trying to call out someone else for it not being touch screen, if something is ADVERTISED and it’s not available they have every right to complain about it, it’s RIDICULOUS for you to even mention them

I’m giving another update :It says it’s 512 GB storage but under system>storage it shows 475GB. Plus I have not added any photos, videos, or other programs except downloaded 2 browsers and it’s already at 64.7 GB user with only 411GB available. My old laptop which is 13 years old has more storage and was able to handle multiple programs open open tabs without being so slow. This computer slows if you play one video and have one tab open. I only have a few days left before I can’t return it and I’m just frustrated what the issue is and would be so annoyed if I have to return and search for a new laptop.
