I bought the Kingston XS1000 2TB SSD, and a 1 Tb unit. I wanted to phase out my old wall-wart bound USB 2.0 iron 3.5″Hds for my back-ups, critical files and tunez libraries.
My back-ups made using disk imaging software, now from NVME to USB3.2 get done fast, transfered 2 and a half Tbs of data in such a short time, I was floored. Just to be confidant it wasn’t data transfer drop-out, like we’d get in the olden days, I did Hash check for data integrity, and It’s all good, and they work with phone OTG on Android.
Love and recommend theese without reservation.

I have pretty beefy custom-built Gaming Rig.It has 3 – 2TB internal hard-drives (one an SSD) ,plus I have 2 USB-A, (3.2) external HDDs connected as well.I looked for another External USB-A hard drive but needed an SSD. Got very lucky with this one. It was fairly inexpensive (roughly $109 w/tax). The reason I say I ‘got lucky’ is b/c Kingston is a good brand plus everywhere I looked ,all the other external SSDs used USB-C connection w/o a USB-A adapter. I think most of the USB-C to USB-A adapters cost $15 and up. Which isn’t that big of a deal if you’re just gonna store pictures , music , movies, etc on it , but I mainly use it for installing and running video-games off it. Thing is , once you buy an external USB-C SSD , and use a USB-A adapter ,the data transfer speeds drops dramatically ( for a gamer that’s a deal breaker ) but since this one already connects directly to a USB-A port ,it’s a pretty darn fast external SSD.
I’ve installed a few games on it since purchasing it and they run smooth & fast. Pretty amazing for an SSD that isn’t internally connected to you motherboard. Not sure if they’re still available ,but if they are ,even if you’re just a casual gamer , it’s a great purchase.
However ,as I stated before ,if you’re not a gamer , this won’t matter to you much anyway.

All is well but would have been nice if it included an USB adapter from C to A.

As someone who deals with massive amounts of data for my business and marketing needs, the Kingston XS2000 1TB portable SSD has been an absolute game-changer. I honestly kick myself for not buying one of these sooner!
Let’s start with the obvious – having a terabyte of super-fast solid state storage that fits in my pocket is immensely valuable. I can carry virtually my entire content library with me wherever I go. No more bulky external hard drives or swapping out computers to access files. It’s all lightning-quick on this little drive.
The read/write speeds on the XS2000 are simply phenomenal, especially when using the included USB-C cable. Transferring large video files, RAW photos, or entire project folders happens in just seconds rather than minutes. It makes my workflow so much more efficient.
Another standout feature is how seamlessly the SSD works between different operating systems. I can use it interchangeably on my Mac and Windows desktop with zero compatibility issues. The plug-and-play functionality is such a time-saver.
Build quality is impressive too. The sleek aluminum body gives it a premium feel while still being extremely light and portable. And despite being incredibly compact, it has survived a few accidental drops to the floor with zero data loss or damage.
I could go on singing its praises, but you get the idea – the Kingston XS2000 is worth every penny for anyone who needs blazing transfer speeds and massive capacity in a truly portable SSD. It’s an indispensable tool for my career that has already paid for itself many times over in time savings and reduced hassle. Don’t sit on this drive, just buy it already!

It works fine, the quality is good, pleasant that the case is a gift. And most importantly, the memory corresponds to the one declared by the manufacturer. Transfers everything very quickly with MacBook works well too.

I never buy drives this small anymore other than for deliverables, and budgetary reasons. After purchasing the other most sold brand on Amazon (SSK) for about $10 less, I had to immediately return it for VERY poor performance (throttled at 14mbs). Which leads me to saying “this thing is a rockstar”. So far speeds are what are to be expected, though it does dip fairly quickly. In the 800-900mbps to start which seemed nice, but it teeter tottered back and forth between that and the 200-400 range. See photo.

I bought this to replace my old external hard drive that was connected to my Xbox. This hard drive is so much faster than that old hard drive.
I love the small size too. I plan to buy another one for work.
