Noctua NF-P14s Redux-1500 PWM Cooling Fan

Let me state this first. I absolutely hate noisy fans and then I hate underperforming ones. If your case FANs are underperforming or doing excessive noise, then this is your chance to make it right.

Noctua has been a long time friend in my life now. They keep saving me from having to suffer the horrendous high-pitch noise that can be heard on other FANs. Trust me when I say this, I’m completely bend on silent PCs. The problem is that I also like performing PCs and having to cool down an Ryzen 9 3950X with 128GB of RAM and an RTX2080 Ti is no easy fit.

I’ve purchased a couple of P14 (3 in fact) to replace the current ones in my shiny new NZXT H710i case. The default FANs were silent enough but they were definitely underperforming, also, when turned to max power they are noisy too.

I’ve replaced the 3 intake front fans with 2 of these P14 beauties and also the rear FAN. Put in tandem onto the same controller the front and the read are incredible powerful. When on idle I’ve set them to 600 RPM. Trust me when I say this, it is impossible to hear them work, it’s like you do not have a PC connected at all.

I’m using a Silent Corsair power supply so the only noise I hear from my PC now is the actual pump from the watercooler. As soon as I throw a heavy game into the mix those fans will speed up to a max of 1570 RPM. Yes, they can be heard at this point but the whole idea is that they throw power when needed and be silent when they are not.

At max power though they are less noisy than the ones installed on the case and since I’m now have 3 FANs in total compared to 4, it’s much more quiet too. The peformance has also increased. My GPU is now at 78 full load compared to 81 with default FANs and the CPU is also cooler by 3 degrees.

For me the whole point about using this FANs is to reduce noise and still have competent FANs in the system. It was no surprise that I’ve ended up with a better performing system that is now dead silent when on idle.

Noctua never dissapointed me. I could get the premium version of this FAN but this one was better looking for my case so I went with the REDDUX which is a cheaper version in grey. The technology is about the same and the results are similar, it’s just these FANs do not have the premium parts such as the low power adaptor and noise dumpeners, fortunately I had a couple of dampeners from my other Noctua FANs so paying more for the premium versions was not required in this case.

If you have any doubts that these fans could do good to your system, doubt no more, they are also beautiful !

If I ever change the case again, swapping default FANs for these is a must. Nobody can do FANs the way Noctua does, they are so passionate about it and it shows. Their products are TOP quality, you will not be dissapointed.

I bought these because I wanted some very quiet fans that could provide good air movement to the plants I have indoors. I tried a few non-computer fans first, but found them to be a bit too noisy. After doing some brainstorming, I found a way that I could mount some PC fans to my wire shelving unit, so that left trying to find some PC fans that could move lots of air.

There are some other 140mm fans that can move more air, specifically ones that are 38mm thick. However, most, if not all of those use ball bearings and tend to be noticeably more noisy. I feel like these Noctua NF-P14 Redux fans are a very good middle ground.

Definitely recommend these for plants if you can mount them within a couple feet of the plants. They are quiet and effective. They’re not the most inexpensive option, but I feel that the low noise level and high air movement are worth the bit of extra cost.

J’ai acheté 3 ventilateurs de ce modèle pour optimiser le refroidissement de mon PC personnel.

Il faut bien concevoir son modèle de ventilation au préalable.

J’ai installé un ventilateur en admission sur le devant du boîtier et les deux autres en extraction sur le dessus sachant que j’avais déjà 2 autres ventilateurs dont j’ai modifié la configuration afin que le premier soit en extraction sur le côté gauche du boîtier et le second en extraction sur le fond du boîtier. Cette configuration permet de prendre de l’air frais sur le devant et le côté et d’expulser l’air chaud par le haut et le fond du boitier.
J’ai utilisé le logiciel fan control pour paramétrer les courbes de RPM. J’ai ainsi diminué de plus de 10 degrés la température de mon CPU (Intel core i7).
Les ventilateurs brassent beaucoup plus d’air que ceux que j’avais déjà. Ils sont très silencieux à bas régime. À fort régime le bruit est évidemment plus important mais reste acceptable (sachant qu’ils ne fonctionneront jamais tous à 100%).

J’envisage d’en acheter 2 autres pour remplacer les 2 ventilateurs d’origine beaucoup moins performants. Par ailleurs ces ventilateurs sont des 4 broches alors que mes anciens ventilateurs sont des 3 broches ce qui pose problème avec fan control.

Bref, je suis très content de ces ventilateurs.

Before I begin let me just say that I LIKE NOCTUA as a company, the problem is that the redux line is just not what I expected. Now don’t get me wrong, the Redux line is still filled with good fans for the price. You still get an amazing build quality with a decent unboxing experience and a 6-year warranty. However, you don’t get all of the accessories and internal parts that the normal Brown and Beige fans come with. I have 1 or more of every Noctua fan in every product line that they have introduced. That being said I went into this review with an open mind because their normal fans and industrial fans are absolutely amazing, there quiet and move a lot of air. Now when it comes to the redux line I can ignore the fact that they don’t come with any accessories or anti vibration mounts, and that they come in a different color (even though I prefer the gray color over the ugly brown color). That being said I cannot ignore the fact that these fans are particularly loud for what they cost. Obviously, you can change the speed of the fans in windows or use a hardware fan controller effectively making them extremely quiet, but if you’re a person that doesn’t like or just all around can’t tinker with settings like that, these are not the fans for you. I know I just said that the fans are loud, however, I will admit that the fans are a lot quieter than most fans, for example, Corsair fans or most case fans. But at the end of the day, it’s up to the buyer to decide if the fans are good enough for them. For the price, I personally think that they are worth it and would recommend buying these if you need some high-quality fans on a budget.

Noctua makes some of the best computer case fans out there. Highly recommend these fans to anyone who needs more fans or wants to replace the ones that came with their case. Made with high quality materials, these fans look and feel great. They are virtually silent and always work as expected. Replaced the built in case fans with 2 of these and couldn’t be happier with the results. Better temps for my components and can’t hear them running.

Estos ventiladores cumplieron con lo que buscaba, algo bonito, bueno y a un precio no tan alto, por 700$ conseguí estos 2 ventiladores de 140mm para el gabinete de mi pc, y después de 6 meses de uso (cambié uno de lugar por ciertas cosas) ha sido de lo mejor que he usado tanto a sonido como flujo de aire, los ventiladores usan un conector de 4 pines, solo chequen que su mother también soporte este tipo de ventiladores
El nivel de sonido es considerablemente bajo, y a RPM altos, hace ruido, pero no es molesto comparado a unos ventiladores de lap a 4000 RPM, incluso en el video, suena más los ruidos de fondo que la propia pc en estado idle 20% de uso al ventilador aproximadamente.
La calidad del ventilador es curiosa, las aspas tienen buena forma, y son debun plastico duro, y el cable está mallado, dan una sensación de calidad, pero a la hora de atornillarlos en el gabinete, las tuercas empiezan a sacar plastico del ventilador y aveces no agarra bien los tornillos
Las temperaturas son otra cosa que tenía en mente, y me dejó satisfecho, siendo que la CPU bajó de 70° a 65° o 62°, y en estado idle llega a los 31°, para la GPU en estado idle bajó de 55° a 30°, y en carga con juegos en 1080 bajó de 70° a 60°/63° y en 4k de 80°/85° a 65°/70°
No recomiendo usarlo al 100%, deja de tener buen flujo de aire y hace más ruido, yo lo ocupo entre 20% a 65%, y para la ultima curva un 85%
