I’m used to my power hardware looking and feeling like it could go to war. This unit changed my mind. It sleek, the plastic case is just fine and the ergonomics of mounting it on the wall are great. It works and was easy to install. If they hold up for a few years I’ll buy another, although I’m not sure how replaceable the batteries are.

I’ve been using APC battery back-ups for almost 20 years and I swear by them. Yes, I have had to buy new units from time-to-time, but these APC back-ups are cheaper than replacing my TV, sound bar, Blu-ray player, router, modem, and my desktop PC.
Power outages are infrequent where I live, but they do happen. About half of the outages end up being “brown-outs” and the remainder are full “black-outs”. The brown-outs are much more likely to damage/destroy electronics, so I really appreciate the APC’s very fast switching time, which keeps my electronics running, from the APC’s internal battery, in a matter of just a couple of microseconds. There is an audible clicking sound when the APC is switching over to the back-up battery, and then again when the power is restored to the wall outlet.
Affordable insurance and peace of mind for all your high-priced electronics. Highly recommend.

I recently bought this UPS to use in a commercial setting. It works perfectly. I recommend this unit if you need something more than a basic model.

In an era where digital work and entertainment are central to our lives, the Battery Backup and Surge Protector has emerged as a true lifesaver. This device isn’t just another addition to your tech arsenal; it’s a robust guardian that ensures your digital world remains uninterrupted and protected.
From the get-go, the setup process was a breeze, allowing me to connect all my essential components simultaneously. Whether it’s my computer, monitor, or modem, everything now runs through this single, efficient unit. The convenience of having everything tied into one reliable source cannot be overstated.
The surge protection feature provides immense peace of mind. Living in an area prone to sudden electrical surges, I’ve always worried about the safety of my electronics. This device has put those fears to rest. The first time we experienced a power surge, the Battery Backup and Surge Protector lived up to its promise, safeguarding my equipment without a hitch.
But the real game-changer has been the battery backup functionality. The ability to keep my computer running during a power outage is invaluable, especially when unsaved work is at stake. It gives me ample time to save my documents and shut down properly, preventing potential data loss and hardware damage. This level of protection and reliability is exactly what anyone working from home, gaming, or simply managing a digital household needs.
In conclusion, this Battery Backup and Surge Protector is a must-have for anyone looking to protect their tech investments while ensuring uninterrupted power supply. Its ability to support multiple components, combined with exceptional surge protection and battery backup, makes it a standout product. Highly recommended for the peace of mind and reliability it brings to any tech setup!

If you’ve owned UPS boxes before, you know you need them. But if you haven’t, why not? There is a lot of emphasis put on surge protection and rightly so. A surge can cause a lot of damage, apparently to the point of causing arcs which short out your device, maybe a fire. But think of the opposite, the hits your devices take when the power drops or craps out on you. Your laptop battery will help bridge highs and lows. What other electronics will appreciate having their power cut and then spurt on and off a few times before coming on permantly? I have one for the laptops, external HDD, USB hub, gigabit switch; and then a smaller one for the phone base station and a couple other monitors. The internet modem has its own built-in battery so it’s fine. I’m not saying I have personal proof, but the logic points to the need for these (they’re surge protectors also). Today’s electronics are made with the smallest components connected by the finest wire and circuitboard lines. They’re not meant to be abused, like “in the gool old days”. Run your stuff more safely.

Great when the power goes out but if the power is out for a prolonged period then you have an issue. The unit is great for keeping the wifi and computer running when the power is out for short periods. The problem starts if you have a longer power outage. Refilling the generator with gas or turning off the generator overnight would mean going back on battery power for the internet. The battery will gradually drain and you are now without battery back up.
The next designs should include a “emergency charge” mode where it will not pass through power (so this defeats the uninterrupted power supply) but it will accept any and all power input and charge up the battery.

Works great!

I live in a remote, rural area right beside the Atlantic ocean. Needless to say, we have lots of electricity issues and outages in my region. It’s one thing to plan ahead for storms and make sure that things are unplugged or turned off when you have advanced notice, but unfortunately, it’s the unexpected surges and brown outs that damage computers. Since getting this UPS, I never, ever worry about these issues because my APC UPS catches every single one of them with ease. With an average runtime of 20 to 30 minutes to save any open files and gracefully power the system off, I’ve no cause for undue concern anymore.
Ya gotta luv the fact that you don’t need to junk the whole unit when the battery starts giving out – you just replace the battery. APC has been the go-to, most-relied-upon UPS manufacturer since many decades now; and for good reason! Housing a field replaceable battery and consistently delivering solid reliability makes this unit a very sensible choice. I highly recommend it!

Remember the following details about the UPS:
The UPS arrived securely packaged, and the setup was quick and easy. After running some tests, I discovered that it can keep my PC and monitor running for about 14 minutes, providing ample time to save any work and safely shut down my computer. The only downside I can think of is that there may be spacing issues for certain plugs that require extra space.
Key features to note:
– 1050VA/600W power capacity
– 8 total NEMA 5-15R outlets: 6 for battery backup and surge protection, 2 for surge protection only
– 2 USB charging ports (Type A and C)
– ENERGY STAR Compliant for efficiency
– User-replaceable battery
– Wall-mountable design
– 3-year warranty and $75,000 equipment protection policy
– LED indicators and audible alarms for status updates

Great UPS devices. Would buy again. Currently own 3 of them.
Make sure to open the panel on the bottom to connect the battery. I recommend keeping the test results receipt attached to the UPS, so that you know how old the device is, and can replace the battery when the time comes. estimate for most people is 5 years or so.
from the moment I integrated the APC 850VA UPS into my setup, this uninterruptible power supply has proven to be a reliable safeguard against power fluctuations and unexpected outages, ensuring my operations run smoothly without interruption.
I use this in a home office environment
Pros:
The efficiency of the APC 850VA UPS is unmatched. It provides ample backup power, allowing me to safely shut down my computer equipment or continue running essential devices when the unexpected occurs. The inclusion of two USB charger ports is a thoughtful addition, offering the convenience to charge my devices directly from the UPS.
what sets the APC 850VA UPS apart is not just its performance but also its user-friendly design. The setup was straightforward, and the clear indicators keep me informed of the power status at a glance. It’s evident that this UPS is built to cater to the needs of both home and office environments.
Cons:
packaging is mostly paper, but there’s still some plastic involved.
the spade plug for the battery is a little hard to plug in
there’s a small spark when you first plug in the battery, so be aware.
In summary, the APC 850VA UPS is a top-tier choice for anyone seeking a dependable power backup solution. It’s a product that delivers on its promises and one that I confidently rate 5 out of 5 stars.
