I’m all about finding a nontoxic alternative to chemical coated nonstick pans. I got this set of 2 fry pans for about $50 during Prime Days.

I am happy with the weight of the pans, I was worried they would be thin and light but they feel good in the hand and a good weight. The handle is very comfortable.

I did the pre seasoning, which was simple overall. I used avocado oil. Oil doesn’t appear to smoothly cover the surface, but it’s fine, it does leave enough to season the pan.

It takes higher heat to get up to temperature than my SS fry pan. It will take some experimenting to find the sweet spot for the perfect heat for this pan.

It will basically be nonstick If the pan is preseasoned and preheated properly. If it’s not hot enough, food will stick.

Have your food ready. In this case I was making scrambled eggs.
Learn how to do the “mercury ball” water test to determine when the pan has reached the right temp for nonstick. The picture shows the water to have bubbles in it – it’s not up to temp yet. If the water (1/4 tsp) sizzles, bursts, scatters, boils off, the pan is not hot enough. The video shows the how the water basically is like a mercury ball floating around on the pan. The pan is now at the correct temp.
Wipe out the water drop and add your oil, butter, tallow, lard. Only a little is needed about a 1/4
    – 1/2 tsp. Add food as soon as oil is heated. I used bacon fat. Oils/fat add flavor and healthy oils don’t need to be avoided.

My scrambled eggs came out perfectly cooked and didn’t stick to the pan at all!

All good! I anticipate these pans will sear a steak to perfection.

I love that metal utensils can be used and there is no coating that can peel off.

Realistically though, these are not nonstick as we tend think nonstick pans should be – super slick pans with the historically toxic chemical lab created coating. I personally don’t trust that the “safer” nonstick coating of today are completely safe. Just my opinion.
Learn how to properly use them and they will be nonstick but not the super slick like modern nonstick pans.

I don’t know if the pans will become more slick with more pre seasoning, like a cast iron pan. Time will tell.

Overall, I don’t these will work for people who want to throw food in a cold pan with no oil/fat and expect it to slide around the pan like with the chemical nonstick pans.
They will work for people who are willing to learn or already know about preheating pans.
I’m on the fence if they will be a replacement for stainless steel.

As mentioned before, the cooking diameter in the pan is surprisingly small compared to the outer diameter, but useable for how I use the pans.

One thing that would really help would be for Guy Fieri’s website and the instructions is to have more info on preheating the pan to the correct temperature and long term maintenance- such as do these need to be seasoned again as time goes on?

I love this frying pan! First, it heats evenly across its surface, so you don’t have to manage hot and cold areas while cooking. Second, the best value for the money. It is just the right size for me, and cooks and cleans up beautifully and with little effort. It feels sturdy & high-quality . It became my first choice when cooking!

Food doesn’t stick to the skillets and they are easy to clean. Nice even cooking and heat distribution great quality. Happy that I tried them and will probably order more if they sell separately. I have three pieces already. Great value for the money!

My wife and I have transitioned away from Teflon/teflon products and have been searching for a good pan that will actually cook eggs well. Ceramic is great but just doesn’t last. Stainless steel is finicky. Cast iron is too much effort.

This pan is surprisingly fantastic! It’s one of the least expensive on the market but better than anything else we’ve tried. After following the seasoning instructions it has worked like a champ and nothing seems to stick! I’ve been using it daily for about a month now (as of September 25th 2024) with no issue.

I’ve seen some people complain about the weight, but I think it weighs a normal amount. The pan came with a small blemish (pictured) but doesn’t seem to affect performance. Otherwise it looks good, works amazingly, and even includes a lid.

10/10 would buy again. In fact, I’m probably going to buy more in other sizes!

I’ve used it around 10 times so far. I would recommend it. Cheese does stick a little, but I can easily clean it with water and my hand. I don’t use a sponge and I put a light coating of oil on it before I put it away, treating it like cast iron.

Well it finally arrived and I love it. The skillet heats up evenly and quickly, allowing for perfect searing, sautéing, and frying every time. The non-stick surface is truly non-stick – even the stickiest foods slide right off with minimal effort. Cleaning up after cooking has never been easier! Using it for breakfast, lunch, or my elaborate dinner, this skillet handles it all with ease. The large surface area and deep sides make it perfect for one-pan meals, and it’s oven-safe, so I can finish dishes off with a quick bake. Just made an amazing risotto ! The handle is ergonomic and so so comfortable. Buying one for my mom as well !

I really wanted to like this frying pan because it looked very well built and had some weight to it. Sadly, the nonstick surface started to disappear with each use getting harder to wash off in the sink afterwards. It did cook evenly and meals turned out really well, but that was overshadowed by the extremely short lifespan of the nonstick coating. This actually lasted less than any other frying pan that I have ever purchased. Not sure if this was possibly used when I received it, but there was a dark circle in the middle along with blemishes on the outside. I would stay away from this one if you’re looking for something that will last a while.

I love my new pan. It’s a perfect size for my needs. Food is not stick and quickly cooked. Another bonus is very easy to clean!
