Two uses.
That’s all I got out of this chainsaw before the cheaply made tension adjuster broke, making it impossible to use the saw.
“No problem” I thought. I could simply call and ask for a replacement.
Sun Joe’s customer service is now in the Philippines. Nothing says “up yours” to a customer like sending their customer service calls to the Philippines. Needless to say, the person answering the phone knew nothing about the product.
And…. the part is not replaceable! So now I have myself a 20lb paperweight. I’d imagine I can send it in for warranty service, which will take weeks. All I needed was a small part I could easily replace myself.

This is quiet, lightweight and easy to operate. For smaller jobs.

Bought for a project but honest review after tear down, this unit is made from what appears to be a more brittle plastic not the plastic most hand tools are made from but the stuff used in toys if dropped even from mear inches I’m sure it would crack. The saw is nearly unusable anyways try finding 100v sunjoe batteries in Canada or anywhere…. Good thing I just needed the brushless motor. Otherwise this saw looks cheap, feels cheap and has what looks to be one of the worst auto tensioning systems I’ve seen. For reference saws are part of my life even the new cordless saws. Got this on warehouse deal, if not I’d say no deal!

Well I would tell you no to buy this but they’ve already discontinued it. I’ve used it maybe 10 times and the tensioner broke. Called customer support and they don’t carry any parts for this. I hate to drop it in the dump being this new but I’ve got no choice. I will not buy from this company again.

No pull start. Relatively little noise. No gas fumes in my face. It has all of the power of the gas chainsaw. It is just as heavy as the gas powered saw but setting it down between cuts is easy.

Have purchased a few products from this company. Up until now I have been impressed with their customer service. This saw is built solidly and while I haven’t cut anything thick with it, it seems to have plenty of power. Now back to customer service. I bought a 100V snow thrower this winter and one of the lights didn’t work. They immediately sent me a new complete thrower in exchange, shipping paid both ways! However the oiler doesn’t work properly on the saw and I have been waiting 3 weeks for resolution. Overall I would still purchase these products
UPDATE December 2020. I have waited since April for resolution to my oiler problem. I have submitted two problem tickets and written directly to the company. There has been no resolution to the problem. Now I have a saw that will not hold oil and leaks oil on my concrete floors. Have dropped the rating accordingly and would not recommend any of their products.
UPDATE. After a year they exchanged the saw for a new one. Same problem- leaks oil all over the floor. Their solution was for me to drain the oil after each usage. I have used a number of gas fueled chain saws of different sizes and never had to drain the oil when finished using for the day. This Sun Joe product now sits in a scrap heap.

Does a great job, but the battery is absurdly heavy.

I have used a chain saw for 35 years and heated my home with wood in my younger days so I know about bucking up wood with a saw. Now I cut wood mostly for the fireplace and the wood stove at my fishing cabin. For that type of thing this saw has performed beyond my expectations. I love it! Light weight, quiet, powerful enough for 8 or 10 inch logs and always starts!

I bought the Snowjoe 24” 2 stage snowblower. It came with what turns out to be 2 incredibly expensive 100v batteries. My very old Stihl 026 chainsaw seems to be existing on borrowed time so I decided to try electric and further utilize those expensive batteries.
The saw arrived in good condition and ahead of schedule. Even though mainly plastic, it seems to be solidly built. So far I’ve used it to cut some trees up to 10” thick into firewood without a hiccup. With the battery installed the unit is noticeably heavy at the outset but easy to get used to. It cuts very well; I think partially because it uses a thinner kerf chain than an equivalent gas unit. Observations:
The Good:
+powerful enough not to bog down.
+It’s electric. When you’re not cutting it’s not using power.
+the battery lasts quite long, for me good for an afternoon’s cutting
+the tool less chain tensioning is awesome.
The not so good:
-replacement batteries are very EXPENSIVE!
-with the battery the unit is heavy
-the battery vents face down so I would not set it down in the snow
-since operation is quiet and smooth as opposed to a fume belching vibrating noisy gas unit, it is hard to take seriously so a bit more dangerous IMO.
