This is a very nice set. Sturdy!!! My 5 year old is tall for his age. It fits him okay for now, but I’m sure he’ll outgrow it this year for sure. But until then, he loves it, I love it. But size wise, it would be great for ages 1-4 in my opinion. It’s on the small side. I only said about 999 bad words, and broke 4 nails putting it together. It’s easy to put together for the most part, but if you didn’t have to use the small allen wrench to put it together, it would have been so much better. That was the most aggravating part. Dropping that tiny thing over and over and having to pick it up. lol

I have a tiny home (680 sq ft) and fitting excess baby stuff in it has been a real no no. My son eats at a small table at daycare and when I was on vacation and we cobbled together a little table for him I saw how much he loved his independence. My mother wanted to get him a table so I searched, read reviews, and finally decided on this. First of all, the espresso color is exactly as it appears (important if you are trying to match decor). As a single mother, I can say it is probably one of the easiest pieces of furniture I have ever put together. The reviews below tell you the quality of the table. Mothers who have seen it have not believed how little I paid for it. It is a solid piece of furniture. Now, for my absolutely favorite quality of this little table – it cleans up with a wet washcloth. My toddler loves to eat on his own and loves the independence this set gives him, but he is a messy eater. I no longer worry about it. I would highly recommend this. If you are concerned about age appropriateness, I agree with others that my 15 month old’s feet do not touch the ground, however, he has mastered the art of sitting properly in the chair and it is something he can grow into.

This table set was very easy to assemble, but I only used two of the four chairs for my home daycare kitchen area for my students. It is sturdy and the children were very excited to cook and eat at their new table. You will not be disappointed with this piece and your child/ren will love it, because it is beautiful. It did arrive by USPS which was fine with me.

This set is very sturdy. My 8 year old grandson helped put it together. I bought a thick vinyl remnant similar to Naugahyde at the fabric store, and cut it for a tablecloth. Now the grandchildren can do anything they want on this table, and it should stay beautiful, and be around for their children! I have noticed complaints about chipping. Of course the finish will chip if you don’t protect it…just like a dining table needs to be protected. The table looks brand new, and we have now had it for four months. We have five grandchildren: 8, 5, 3, and two one year olds. The chairs have developed some places we covered with a Pottery Barn furniture pen. I expect this table and chairs could last and last if protected. I would not advise an adult sitting on the chairs as I have read some people allow. Pottery Barn instructed my Benchmark Ladderback dining chairs would hold up for 200 pounds and under adults. Based on these guidelines for my heavy dining chairs, I think an adult sitting in a child’s chair would weaken it. Why even do that? I sit on the sofa next to the table when I don’t sit on the floor. You could even use a stool.

I haven’t a negative thing to say about this product. It went together easily, it is solid furniture and it looks classy enough for both living room and cubby house.
Price was good. Shipping to Australia worth every cent.

Ordered the table for my 6 (7 in 2 months) year old, in the Espresso. The set comes with a table and four chairs, in a pine wood (I think) stained a dark brown. It was packed well, wrapped with that white poly sheets with styrofoam for cushioning. Was delivered without any damage. Easy enough to assemble, one person can do it with the provided allen wrench and spanner, but I recommend a power or ratcheting driver with a 5/32 hex bit and a 3/8 or 10mm socket wrench.
My son who is 48″ tall can sit in the chairs comfortably, with feet flat on the ground and thighs horizontal. There is about an inch of clearance between the top of his thigh and the bottom of the table when the chair is pulled up all the way. He can rest his elbows comfortably on the table without having to lean too far forward or lifting them up. If your child is eight, this might be a little too small, but the given age range is reasonable I would say.
The chairs (each comes as two side pieces, seat, seat back and cross bar below) and table (comes as a complete top and four leg pieces) have to be assembled with the provided bolts, nuts, dowels and screws (typical IKEA type fasteners) and took me about 1/2 hour total without power tools. Once assembled the table and chairs are very sturdy and the joints are tightly fitted together. The chair bottoms and back rests are flat, not curved. The dark finish can scratch pretty easily, but I guess that’s to be expected at this price point and I would assume my kid would scratch pretty much anything anyway (I paid about $101.50 for the set).
I took off one star for the easily scratched finish (which might not be noticeable on the light/natural finishes) and the flat seat/seat back, but once again, at this price, this is an excellent product that I would recommend highly at this time. I just bought it, so I cannot comment on how it will hold up over time at this time.

I previously purchased 2 kidscraft toy boxes and loved them. Bought the table and chairs and they are just as nice and well constructed as the toy chests. Color matches perfectly. My grandson is 2 1/2 yrs old and when he sits on the chair his feet sit on the floor. Perfect size and height. It was extremely easy to put together. One recommendation, if you have a socket set, use that instead of the wrench to attach the legs to the table. Saves time and your knuckles.
UPDATE: Chair back fell apart just like in pictures others have posted. Went to the website (KidKraft) and am able to buy the part for $5 but we shouldn’t have to buy parts so soon after purchase (their website needs serious updating, not easy to navigate). It is NOT made of wood (at least not the chair backs, they are pressed wood and easily break)
