KILZ Basement & Masonry Waterproof Paint, White Description
- This premium, interior/exterior paint is formulated to waterproof and seal porous concrete and masonry surfaces both inside and outside your home.
- Using nanotechnology, this paint forms a barrier to help stop water infiltration while an alkali resistant coating provides a long-lasting, durable and decorative finish.
- Apply this paint on properly prepped and cured above and below grade basement walls, masonry walls, retaining walls, cinder and concrete blocks, stucco and brick. Do not use on floors or on walls with active water leaks. Apply using a high quality 1/2″-3/4″ nap roller, 4″ nylon/polyester brush or an airless sprayer capable of delivering 2200-3200 PSI or greater using a .023″-.025″ spray tip.
- Prime all uncoated, patched, chalky, and adjacent wood and/or metal surfaces with KILZ Premium Primer. For below grade application, fill all holes/cracks with hydraulic cement prior to painting. A minimum of two coats of this product are required for optimal results. Paint dries to touch in one hour and can be re-coated in 4 hours depending on humidity.
- This is a 1-gallon can of Interior/Exterior Basement and Masonry Waterproofing Paint, White, 1-gallon in white. Depending on surface porosity, 1 gallon covers 75 to 125 square feet per.

Deborah B. Massey –
This product is truly wonderful. The way it goes on is magnificent, painless, so easy to apply. I have used it on lower walls, and 2 or 3 inches on flooring between wall and floor in basement for little drips of water that had been coming through the wall periodically. I plan to use it on the rock wall, for coverage, even though not leaking there, just to make the wall white and pretty…..I also have used it on 7 huge concrete boulders outside that I am trying to paint so they will not deteriorate so rapidly. They went from ugly gray to brilliant white, like magic! Highly recommend.

I liked the fact that the paint made my old store building look new again, I have a old cinder block building that needed painting and this paint worked out great for the job. I just miscalculated the amount of paint and I’ve got to order more to finish. The Kiltz paint was extremely easy to use a great value and appears to be very durable and there was no leakage.
Amazon Customer –
Great coverage, waterproofing, no fumes!

This is not actually an oil based (urethane) product as the title indicates but a water based acrylic product. This is an advantage IMHO as it has better adhesion and coverage properties over concrete. The product needs mixing as it arrives separated. If the surface is very rough, it may be desirable to mix some fine sand into the produc to fill holes and gaps. Two coats will do a fair job of covering concrete foundation walls. A third coat (after overnight drying) will do an excellent job. Unused product can b e left uncovered overnight without it curing. I’m no paint expert but I was pleasantly suprised by this product (I usually only trust Ben Moore or other premium brands).

As you can see from the photos, our basement was very dark and dirty-looking. What a huge difference the Kilz makes. It looks like a whole new space. My husband is a craftsman so he deserves a nice basement workshop. Our basement is dry, but the waterproofing aspect will probably help keep it from smelling musty. We had to use three coats. The first coat took some elbow grease because the walls are so rough with lots of divots. The second coat went on much easier, but we could still see the shadow of the gray walls peeking thru. The third coat was the charm. We used gray Drylock on the floor. It really looks great!
Lynn Rutman –
Use two or more coats for a water tight seal!

I used Drylok caulk and cement to patch our foundation first after cleaning and scraping it. I let this dry an entire day. Then, the next morning I put this on the house foundation and garage foundation-both masonry. Our home is a 1950 built home but it does not look like it! Maintenance is key to your home and we recommend this product. We will be using it on exterior walls as well in our basement.
