My husband likes his Chacos. They are comfortable but you have to wear them in a little.

Sandals fit well – as-expected based on size. If you’re a half-size, I’d err on the closest size down (I’m a 10.5, went with 10s and this fit great). But what I’d really recommend is buying both sizes through Amazon’s try-before-you-buy program. Super easy to try both and send one pair back.
Support is nice – more than you’d expect from a sandal. I’ve had these for a whole summer season and been on multiple beach trips in and out of the water, and they still look brand new (though I am making sure to rinse them in fresh water after being in the salt). I’d feel confident & comfortable wearing these all day in most (open-toe-safe!) scenarios.
Only gripe is that the straps you pull on to secure the sandals are ~2″ too long, the way they fit my feet anyway. I feel like that’s not a real criticism though, it’d take like 20 minutes to shorten them myself.

very pleased, would buy again from this supplier

I’ve been buying these for years and they are truly incredible. They fit real well and once broken in are so comfortable. With the huge amount of traction you get I’ve climbed over rocks trails even swam with them on and they’re almost like having fins. They dry out pretty quickly and are very tough. I’ll keep buying these forever.

My trusty several years old Chacos are starting to fail. I have a few pairs of sandals, but the Chacos are my favorite. This is a replacement pair and it is almost as good as the old ones. They feel a little lighter, a little less… substantial. The straps are a bit thinner. They feel great. Hoping they will last as long as the last ones,

Comfort, Security, Style and Quality…they are BOMB(.)

I love Chaco sandals. They super comfortable with arch support, and the straps adjust everywhere so that they don’t dig in or rub. Essentially hiking boots on sandal format.
My last pair outlived every other piece of footwear I own. This is definitely one of those “you get what you pay for” type products!

This is my first pair of the Chacos brand. The first thing that I noticed was the comfortable, formed fit to my feet. The arch support is higher, which took some adjustment but now I’m grateful for. The straps wrap around your feet for a comfortable support while hiking. I’ve taken these on rocky trails, and through water and they have held up well! I really appreciate the thick boot like sole as well. This keeps your foot in good position and reduces impact to foot. Overall would recommend, and know I will have them for a long time!

I love sandals and wear then all summer. However I hate Velcro. Hate the sound, hate that is sucks up lint, and especially hate that after a while it does not hold as well. Buckles are the answer.
These Chacos, have a great footbed with solid arch support. Simple strap system makes on and off simple and fast, yet they are secure and don’t move around then you climb over rocks or splash through creeks. Very solid construction, these sandals will not wear out after a season. And they have BUCKLES!
Only downside is that they are heavier than some other sandals.

I’m sold on Chaco’s

Best water/hiking sandles ever. Comfortable, supportive, durable, and long lasting!

This is my first pair of Chaco’s. Somehow I always overlooked these in the store. I bought this sandal to wear hiking in the Rockies. It was a good choice. They do hold on to your feet at a steep edge. I was descending on terrain I would not normally attempt in sandals. The straps held my feet without slipping and felt secure. I had at first thought I made a mistake wearing these hiking but after reaching the bottom I was confident that they would work for a hike in the mountains. A big advantage wearing these sandals is that your feet stay cool. In hiking boots my feet get hot.
The adjustment strap is a bit long but in my case it does not touch the ground. I found it helpful to have the longer strap. I could tighten the strap quickly when climbing and loosen it afterwards for walking on flat ground. I like the snug fit when climbing but prefer a little looser when walking on a flat trail.
Walking on a wet surface had the same grip feeling as wearing a hiking boot. The bottom of the sandal does look like a hiking boot sole.
I measured the weight of each sandal and oddly one weighs more than the other. The left sandal was 11.2 oz and the right sandal was 14.2oz. This is for size 9.
I also purchased the Chaco mega Z cloud and it too had different weighting per sandal. And the right sandal was the heavier one. Must be a manufacturing issue. I don’t notice the weight difference when on my feet
The straps didn’t cause and irritation at all. I wore them on several short walks before hiking a longer trail. But I have been wearing sandals all day for 6 months or so and that might have prepared my feet for these straps.
After about 1 day I started to feel like the heal was too narrow. I ordered the medium width which is my normal width. I stopped at a local shop and tried on a wide version of the same sandal and the heal was wider but it felt too wide, too much sliding around in the heel.. My foot had a bit of movement that I thought was too much. After experiencing steep terrain I am glad I kept the medium width, you need a snug fit to walk a steep incline. Any movement can throw your balance off.
The width feeling was due to the cup at the heal of the sandal. Most sandals are shaped at the heal. However these sandals have a heel cup which has a different feel but it is what makes it possible to walk a rocky steep trail while holding your foot stable.
The foot arch of the sandal is high. Much more arch than any other sandal I have seen. And my foot does well after walking in them for several hours. I feel the arch is really helpful.
Summary, feels like wearing a hiking boot. Highly recommend for trail use or walking in general. I feel confident the straps will not break easily and I should get some indication when they wear out. I have had other high quality sandals look ok but suddenly snap while wearing them. Not great when a few miles out. I typically walk around 5 miles on a walk using these sandals. No issues wearing them. I have walked around 10+ miles in theses sandals and no issues to report yet.
After wearing these sandals for a month or so I have found them incredible. I prefer these over any other sandal or shoe for walking. There are nicer looking sandals but not as comfortable or as good of traction as these.
