At my age my hair, or what’s left of it, is dry and I’ve tried several brands of conditioner you use in the shower and rinse out – none of these worked at all. So then I decided to try VO5 which seems to be nothing more than petroleum jelly with a female suitable scent. Fail!
I remember Brylcreem from the 50s and that it was used for that slicked back ‘greaser’ look and figured if I only used a little, I could get a modern sheen and soft hair.
IT WORKS! My hair is soft with NO shine… it just looks natural.
What do you have to lose? One tube should last years, so give it a try. And remember – “A little dab’ll do ya'”

The texture of the cream is very smooth and easy to apply. It has a nice smell and stays on hair. It is not very sticky and comes off easily by applying water. It gives a nice shine and smooth. The hold is not that impressive but pretty good.

I also like it because tames my dry frizzy hair better than the products that I have used in the the past

I found a leave in conditioner that’s far superior to this item in all ways including quantity and cost so I basically wasted my money on this. Tube is still in my hairstyling drawer almost full because I found a cheaper, healthier, more stylish better smelling alternative. I won’t buy it again but maybe for a different hair style it works great. Just left my hair Shiney, flat and showing my scalp like I had bald spots. Doesn’t distribute well. Can’t even recall the smell.

Got an geniue product through amazon. Slightly on the expensive side but it’s OK as only little bit as shown in fig is required for short hair people. smells very good.

This quality of hair cream is simply not found in India. It holds the hair good and the fragrance of it takes you back to the days of Elvis Presley and Al Pachino. Wow! You don’t look like greaseball using this stuff. It’s understated and not loud.

The hold and shine are perfect, if you don’t want something like a gel that makes your hair stiff and brittle this is great. It’s also less greasy looking than something like a pomade. I know the product says “high shine” but I would say it has more of a medium shine which I prefer, especially once your hair is dry. It really does condition your hair like it says, my hair was very soft after a couple hours. The price for this is better than anything else I could find, usually a hair cream like this would be $20 and that’s with less product included. I also like how this is in a tube which I find way more convenient and practical than a jar. Only thing I can think to complain about is the scent and it’s not even bad, it still smells great but it’s more like a minty medicinal scent if that makes sense. The product I used before is Cantu’s “moisturizing Curl Activator Cream” and I liked the smell of that more but it doesn’t hold very long. With that being said this product still smells good so it’s definitely not a deal breaker for me. I’ll keep buying this and I recommend it to anyone that wants the same qualities I mentioned above.

This product has a great price, making it worth trying. I have used several products over the years. I like the shine it provides without a greasy feel. It smells like a barber product, but doesn’t linger too long. You can still use your favorite cologne or aftershave and it won’t pull away from the fragrance you wear. I have been using a little of this product and a styling powder that gives me a little more weight and hold to enhance a nice textured look. Overall, I would say that it’s a good product for your hair and grooming arsenal with a great price point.

Keep in mind throughout this review that I have straight, fine hair that grows very dense (there’s allot of it). If your hair is different, you experience may vary. First things first, it lives up to its name by giving a brilliant shine, and also leave my hair incredibly soft. I typically wear my hair in a pompadour style with a leather jacket in a rockabilly fashion so shiny and “greasy” goes well with my look. That being said, unlike a pomade, this has very little hold so if I style my hair I will need to keep combing it back ever 20 minutes or so. That isn’t a problem as I carry a comb everywhere but for some people that could be tedious. Having no hold, my hair is very loose. I have allot of natural volume in my hair so it gets nice and fluffy. If you don’t have allot of natural volume this might just weigh your hair down more than you’d like.
Overall, light to no hold but softens the hair and gives a brilliant shine.
