One of my conures has been plucking her feathers since she turned 2, she’s now 19. She’s been vet checked and had all blood work come back unremarkable. Truly believe it’s a hormonal thing, but I also think she does it if she doesn’t get enough attention.
I’ve tried Hemp Well, Avi-Calm (along with Fearherific) plus another supplement like Avi-Calm (but name escapes me.)
For 2 years, did quite well on Avi-Calm with Fearherific, hardly plucked at all. Then suddenly she plucked her chest and legs bald overnight. I scrambled for other things to try, like the Hemp Well, but really didn’t seem to matter.
I came across this Missing Link Powder and decided to give it a try. I’ve been putting it on her food for a couple of weeks now. She looks really good, though I know she’s still plucking some. I’m hoping maybe alternating between these supplements will help.
Thus far my only complaint is the ziplock style bag is NOT suited for this powder. My bag would absolutely NOT close after opening the bag because of caked-on powder. I ended up cutting the seals off and clipping the bag shut. Not a dealbreaker, but thought it was worth mentioning.
Thanks for reading. Please give a “click” if my review was helpful.

My budgies were going through a moult and were both a little hormonal and irritable. They have been having Missing Link mixed with their food for about 30 days now. Their new feathers are looking great ans they are back to their sweet selves.

Helps keep my bird healthy

I wrote the same review for this product and Zoo Med Lab Avian Plus Vitamins.
These two products changed my birds life. They saved my parrot)

This supplement was a savior for my Monk Parrot! My18 y.o. parrot had a lot of health problems. His beak would cheap easily and his feather was not so shiny like before. Plus he would start having bold spots( His mood and energy was down a lot. Seemed like he wasn’t feeling well at all.
Also my bird lost ability to fly. He just was sitting in his cage depressed and not interested in anything anymore. I felt so bad for him.
Let me say that I went to veterinarian and got whole blood panel done. My bird was down for all micro elements. Unfortunately my vet wasn’t concern that my bird stopped flying. She said he will never fly again because he is too old. I started researching internet and found good combination: this product + Zoo Med Lab Avian Plus Vitamins.
Anyway, after only 2 weeks of this product plus vitamins I mentioned before my bird is flying again!!! He is so active like before! He plays, bites and obviously he is full of energy and HAPPY! And his feather is shiny and grows back.
The only difficult thing about this product that its hard to administer to bird. My parrot wouldn’t eat it and I have to mix it with some water/juce and give it to him (which is not our favorite part)
(If your bird eating only birds food it might be possible to mix this product with his food. My bird is eating with my family a lot so he would ignore his pallets)
Please consider this product if your bird is loosing its strength. Most likely he need some simple vitamins in his/her diet.
Thank you!

This is actually a very good product. I just wish the budgies would eat it. I’ve tried different ways to serve it. But , we know how picky they can be. I have 10 budgies. I will keep offering it. Maybe by the end of the bag , they will accept it. It’s got great stuff in it for them.

I add 1/2 a packet to 5 pound bag of seed mix or sprinkle a tiny pinch into chop. Shaking the bag gently for a minute, and a stir or two by hand distributes the powder lightly. The packet seals tightly with a ziplock, and the ziplock is easy to line up and close. We’ve used this for two years. Our birds don’t mind it at all. The powder is finely milled and lightly coats the seeds.

I recently adopted a 13 year old female Quaker. She’s underweight and only places she hasn’t plucked herself bald is her wings, tail feathers and her head. I took her into a Avian Vet for an exam and recommendations. I brought The Missing Link with me to show the doctor. She said it was a good idea and was going to give me some if I had not already bought it.
Her name is Luna. She only eats Nutriberries, some fruit and very little vegetables. Plan is to improve the diet. I mix this up with a little cran-grape to sweeten it, because she’s so picky. I add a probiotic gel to it. Some days she eats it right up, and some days she won’t touch it. The Vet says she doesn’t need much.
It’s only been two weeks, but her sweet personality is starting to shine. In her past life she has never been in a cage or a perch. Just the other day, she’s starting to climb up onto a fledgling perch and staying there. Her ligaments in her wings are frozen, so she can’t fly, or flutter down if she falls. Goal is to get her as healthy as possible and a loving home. Return to the doctor in a month. I’ll try to update.

I used to give my parrot vitamins from a medicine prescription in her water, but with the Missing Link Avian, I put it into a salt shaker and whenever I refresh her food dish, I just shake some of the Powerful Powder onto it. Ya, that was easy!
