I’ve had this tank for about 48 hours now. My small betta really likes it! It’s a good size, but does take up room. There is a lot of space to fit decorations inside of it. At first, I was wary about the filter because my fish is very small, and the current does toss her around a bit, but she seems to be getting used to it, and the filter makes a huge difference, so I think it’s probably worth it. If you put enough plants/decorations in the tank, the fish can find little spaces to hide where the current isn’t felt. I don’t like that my betta has taken to hiding behind the filter though; I’ve seen reviews for other filters (not for this one) where the betta gets stuck in between the suction cups on the back of the filter. Haven’t had that problem yet, but I wish there wasn’t as much space behind it. The filter is a littttttle loud. I wanted to turn it off at night, but all the fish care websites say that’s a bad idea, so I guess I’ll get used to it. I love the LED light that comes with the tank, it makes it really pretty. Other than that, the lid IS wonky, as all the reviews have stated. My fish is so small that there’s no real chance she’ll try and jump out, but one wrong move and the lid can fall into the tank. I’ve also found that when the lid is on, it creates condensation in between where the water stops and the top of the tank. I don’t love that, but it’s helpful when I’m trying to heat it up.

All in all, I am liking this tank. I think it’s a good little kit for beginners. It’s true that my betta seems much happier with all this room–she went from one gallon to five. I am giving her the life of luxury.

At first we thought it was an ok first tank for our son. When adding water into the tank it cracked along the bottom. When we emptied and tried to move the tank it broke in two pieces. Very disappointed with this purchase.

So I’m a first time fish owner, and after much extensive research into the different tanks on amazon and research online, I decided to go with this one. I’m super happy with the tank, it’s definitely great for a first time fish owner and perfect for bettas (which is what I have in there, don’t worry just the one haha). The filter is very quiet and effective from what I can tell, and my betta actually likes to swim underneath and and get partially sucked into the flow and then swim away, like some sort of game haha! But he seems super happy in there with all that I’ve got, he’s even starting to make little bubble nests 🙂 The light works pretty well too, and is bright enough to see inside, but not too bright that it’s blinding. I’ll do a quick pros and cons list, because there are just a few disadvantages.
    Pros:
    -nice and roomy
-quiet filter (although keep in mind i have it on the lowest flow setting for my betta)
    -nice LED lights
-not completely enclosed so theres a little notch where you can feed your fish through
    Cons:
-does not come with a heater, so you need to buy separately
-because of the way the tank is angled, sometimes your fish can see his reflection so for the first few days my betta was very intensely interested and liked to fight it. once i switched to a lighter background on my tank, however, he seemed much better
-if you do have a filter, condensation does tend to build up underneath the lid, but thankfully i haven’t had much problems with it so far (just posting so you’re aware)
-the lid isnt attached at all to the tank, so if you do need to take it off, its not on hinges and you have to completely take it off. not really bad just a bit of an inconvience.
    Hope this helps!

I have ordered this particular aquarium before and have enjoyed it, so I ordered the same one, which will be arriving today. I am guessing it is the same. The only thing I think I had a problem with was the hood be extremely light and fell into the water sometimes. However, if this happens, I will search for another type of hood or have a glass one made. I do need a hood for the fish, and I am really hoping the one being delivered today works better. The rest of the aquarium is absolutely great. I love the filter and my tropical fish were always happy. I was recently given two goldfish and they needed a bigger aquarium. The price on this is higher than it was before and that was disheartening, but I need something I know will work if I am going to pay these prices.

This is a great kit for beginners, and is relatively cheap. I have had a betta and a snail in the tank for a few months now (but the snail was added recently).

-The filter works fine, it is a little hunky but DON’T USE THE FILTER REPLACEMENT CARTRIDGES!!
You will waste money and be throwing away good bacteria every time you replace it!
INSTEAD, I used the Fluval Edge sponge plus biomax
    LINK: https://www.amazon.com/Fluval-Biomax-Filter-Media-Renewal/dp/B002LL8LPM/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=fluval+biomax+and+sponge&qid=1621280636&sr=8-1

This way the sponge will filter out the gunk and the biomax will create a space where beneficial bacteria can grow!

    DIRECTIONS:
-Place the sponge at the bottom of the filter, and then the biomax on top
-Rinse/squeeze both in OLD TANK WATER during weekly water changes or monthly
-You don’t need to replace unless the sponge or biomax is falling apart

    REST OF REVIEW:
-The light is not super bright, so if you want to grow plants I would only do low light plants
-The lid fits fine, it is a tiny bit flimsy but you just need to make sure the cords aren’t underneath the lid, preventing it from closing. I like that there is room in the lid for cords to come out, such as for a heater.
Overall, great kit with a modified filter!
