Hikari Vibra Bites, Fish Flavor (9.8oz)

We have 4 fish tanks and we feed this to 3 of them. Pellet size may be too big for small fish like Neon Tetras, etc. but medium to large size fishes go crazy for this. We feed this to Australian Rainbows, Congo Tetras, Pearl Gouramis, Roseline Sharks, Bala Sharks, Silver Dollars, Clown Loach, Severums, Rams, etc. Slow sinking so it’s easy to monitor how much to feed. I feed a pinch at a time until I see the fishes slow down and leave a couple floating. Then I do an extra pinch for the bottom feeders like the Bolivian Rams. In regards to quality, I would prefer to see whole fish as opposed to “meals” like fish meal but I’ve tried other higher quality foods that either name the fish like salmon or state whole fish meal but not all the fishes eat it as well as this one. It’s fun to watch them swimming rapidly back and forth chasing and eating this food.

I have been using Hikari vibra bites exclusively for raising predatory cichlids. Young predatory cichlids can be very picky with their food and easily be addicted to live or frozen brine shrimp, krill, and especially blood worms. Getting the to transition to a well made pellet or flake can be hard. I have lost very nice fish using the starving method to get them to give into eating pellets. Hikari Vibra bites have always been VERY successful. In my opinion the perfect food for young carnivore/ predatory cichlids. And they will grow very FAST and LARGE with Hikari Vibra bites. I have used broken up Hikari Carnivore and Massivore Pellets in the past. Vibra bites is a better choice and when these cichlids get bigger trasitioning them with those bigger pellets is easy. I have grown HUGE cichlids starting them on Vibra bites which they all aggressively love until they outgrow the size of the worm like food. The common African Jewels love them. I also have grown their bigger cousins also. My favorite cichlids is Hemichromis. Many 7 inch Male Hemichromis Elongatus (the Five Star Generals), 10 inch Frempongis, and a few 11 inch Fasciatus using Vibra bites. Many Hemichromis will choose to happily eat Vibra bites their entire lives. The predatory Haps love them too. The Nimbos especially; Fuscos, Livingstoni, Malawi Eye Biters. Tyrannochromis will devour this as well. All young Parachromis; Dovii, Managuense, Red Tiger Motas, Fredstalis easily fall in love with Vibra bites. Umbriferum, Festae, Trimacs, Grammode, Salvini, Herichthys, of course Oscars, and predatory Tilapia will all greedily take this staple. Amazinly & surprisingly I have also had success using Vibra bites with young Serrasalmus. Black and red.
I am so impressed with Vibra bites as the starting staple for Carnivorous fish. I cannot emphasize enough that young carnivorous fish will grow fast and very large using Vibra bites. I leave this review for the Largest bulk size available for Vibra bites as it is the best value and deal for this staple. You can see the above fish are all very aggressive, territorial, and robust cichlids. I have grown very outgoing, beautiful and healthy fish with this staple. Let me end by sharing with you that the majority of the above stated fish will start to breed before they even transition to bigger food.

This food is amazing ! My discus LOVE it. They are picky eaters, even with blood worms, but not with this stuff. They attack it and can’t get enough. Two thumbs up !!

Just as I expected from Hikari! This fish food is great and it mimics blood worms and sinks slow. I feel HIKARI is one of the best fish food on the market and mainly huge savings by buying the 1.1kg bags on Amazon.

Nice feed for my tropical fishes… Doesn’t spoil the water, good in size and packaging was really good.. overall I’ll strongly recommend this product to purchase

I will still always keep frozen foods in rotation as well for variety but it’s awesome to see such a picky species of fish like my trio of half banded spiny eels, that I couldn’t manage to feed anything but frozen for over 4 years, finally eating something other than frozen. Should make vacation feeding much easier.
