Had it for over a year and no complaint for what it cost. Used for streaming music from computer to stereo and the sound quality is good. It’s average use is 10 hrs daily/356. When shutting down laptop and restarting it later for streaming music, sometimes the device can’t p/u or find signal. As a result have had to re-pare it to the computer which at times is difficult. The device can’t find signal even though the computer sits next to it! However that is a rarity. For the price, sound quality and rare loss of signal, it’s worth it’s cost.

    UPDATE July 2023:
I’ve had this unit for a few months now and I like it more than I did immediately after purchase. aptX HD sounds amazing on my Benchmark DAC3. It’s truly CD quality, plus the signal never drops out. However, this unit outputs ALL audio at 24 bit/44 khz no matter what the source is, so I’m not sure exactly what type of processing it’s doing. I personally don’t think LDAC is fit for purpose due to constant droputs at 660 and 990 kbps (LDAC has 3 bit rates, 330/660/990 kbps, and your phone will likely lower the bit rate to 330kbps to prevent dropouts, which is lower than aptX HD’s bit rate of 576 kbps). So I really like that this Bluetooth receiver has aptX HD and not LDAC, which I think is a great compromise between sound quality and dropouts.

    Original review (March 2023):
I can confirm this unit has a coaxial and optical digital output, which is rare. Most Bluetooth receivers only have optical out.

The main reason I’m not 100% happy with this Bluetooth receiver is because it never stops sending an active signal to my DAC. Since my DAC has no power button and turns itself off when there is no audio signal (it’s a Benchmark DAC1 USB), my DAC always stays ON if this receiver is connected. So I have to turn off the Bluetooth receiver, which is kind of a pain as I like it to automatically connect to my phone without any faff.

The other problem is that I’m not sure the digital signal this Bluetooth receiver sends to my DAC is bit perfect, but it still sounds good. The unit has a volume control, which you should never use because digital volume controls reduce volume by lowering the bit rate of your music. For digital music, the bits, such as 16 bits, control the volume of the various sounds in the music. So if the bits are lowered to say, 8 bits, to reduce the volume, you lose the dynamics in the music that’s played because all of the instruments will sound like they are the same volume. So I recommend only using the maximum volume setting on this device at all times to maintain the highest bit rate and let your amplifier control the volume.

Also, this unit has a “3D” setting which makes the music sound very weird. It certainly isn’t 3D! I recommend you keep this feature turned OFF.

I had to wait a couple hours before I could hook it up due to the cold. You need to let electrical items get to room temperature before plugging them in. I hooked up the unit to the phono inputs and plugged power into my receiver. The pairing was easy. I played Pandora music from my phone and had to turn the volume down on the bluetooth receiver and let the Pioneer receiver do its thing. Sounds great! I walked to 50 feet away and had no problems with the connection. I have no reason to go any further as the setup is in our basement. I am very pleased with this bluetooth receiver as it works as advertized. I recommend trying several of your inputs on your receiver as I had a few that were not working. The phono inputs worked very well so there you have it! I bought 2 of them and the other goes in the building. I strongly recommend this item.

This is my 3rd 1Mii product. I keep coming back because they have a good build quality and they just work seamlessly without any hassle. They are well-designed.

For this unit in particular, it is a huge benefit that it has an actual (and easy to access) power on/off button. I have an iPhone, which by design, automatically reconnects to bluetooth devices, even after telling the iPhone to disconnect from them, and/or the switching the audio output on the iPhone to a different output (such as the internal speaker). This causes audio (alerts, phone calls, etc.) to sometimes route to the an undesired output device. I have missed important texts and calls because the alert goes to some bluetooth device that I wasn’t aware the phone was connected to. In particular, my car is a problem with this.

On the iPhone end, the only way to stop this is to manually tell the phone to forget the device. This is a pain because you then have to go through all the steps to pair to the device when you want to re-connect. This all is bad design on Apple’s part.

Whit this 1Mii device, all I have to do is press the power button to quickly turn it off when I don’t want to use it. When I want to use it, I press the button again to turn it back on and my phone automatically reconnects to it. The power button is large and is easy to access.

This device also does not automatically go in to pairing mode when it is turned on, it stick with the last (two) devices it has been paired with. This prevents strangers from connecting to it.

I was looking at a similar device from another manufacturer, however that one did not have any buttons on it, so you have to disconnect the power to turn it off. That would be a show-stopper for iPhone users.

Glad I got the 1Mii unit.

I hooked this device to my receiver using the included RCA cable and then ran a frequency response curve on this unit. It has *excellent* pass-through! No apparent lag and the unit seems not to affect the sound at all! The frequency range, 20 to 20KHz, ran virtually identical to my receiver, alone (Harman Kardon AVR 520). I was, frankly, amazed to find superior sound quality in an unassuming, budget-priced device!

And that was with a wired connection, as I mentioned. The unit has an OPTICAL OUT jack and they actually included an optical cable! Amazing! I can’t wait to hook the optical able up and enjoy even *better* sound!

I found Bluetooth connectivity above average and the unit is very easy to pair. Many times, I have trouble getting my computer, television or phone to pair. Not with this unit, though! Pairing took less than 5 seconds, a welcome change.

The claim to “long-range” is a bit misleading, though. Standard Bluetooth signals have a line-of-sight range of about 30 feet; this unit cannot improve on that range, although I was able to squeeze a *little* bit more range, thanks to the antenna design. But this unit provides excellent sound quality within range!

The “3D” function appears to mix part of each channel and add a bit of reverb. Nice and clean, for what it’s intended to do, but I prefer the unmodified sound.

Originally, I was looking for a Wi-Fi smart unit that I could control with a smart home hub. This unit doesn’t do that (I plugged it into a smart switch instead), but its superior features cause me to look no further. If you are seeking a near-audiophile quality Bluetooth receiver then your search, like mine, ends here!

I hooked this up via optical cable to my DAC which drives a couple of passive bookshelf speakers. I then Bluetooth connected it to my Alexa & within a few seconds was streaming music through from Alexa to my speakers.
I was immediately impressed with the quality of the sound & the 3D button gives it another boost.
I have had occasional drop-outs but this was due to an obstruction between Alexa & this unit. It is also perhaps a little on the quiet side so I do have to crank Alexa’s volume up to get the sounds I like.
Overall five out five for the simplicity, sound quality & cost-effectiveness.

The 1Mii B06Pro Long Range Bluetooth Receiver is exactly what I hoped for. It was a bit of a puzzle to connect due to too many RCA plugs from my stereo receiver and other components. By experimenting which line would work, I was able to connect through a Tape In/ Tape Out (my cassette deck from the early 80s had “passed away”, leaving the RCA jacks open). I linked it through an equalizer (vintage Radio Shack from the 70s) and eventually through the receiver (a late 70s or early 80s Fisher). Result: Sounds great!!!! My mp3 mixes and other streaming platforms can be played from a PC, Laptop or tablet.
