My brother has a BlueDriver diagnostic tool for the family cars but wanted one for trucks and larger vehicles since he is an auto mechanic. He took it to work to put it through its paces and said it was great. He gave me a bunch of technical jargon that I’ll probably mess up if I tried to repeat it but what I understood was that it’s easy to use and extremely handy to have for anyone who needs to know what the check engine light is really trying to tell them or if there is anything else wrong with the truck, like why it’s running rough or shaking. The reader itself is compact and easy use, and the app is pretty straightforward and simple. He recommends it for anyone who owns a truck, and that having this device can save a truck owner plenty of money in that you’re less likely to get scammed into repairs you don’t need. Good product and worth the money. Quoting my brother “this thing pays for itself in saved diagnostic and repair bills”.

I recently started using the ANCEL HD200 truck scanner, and it has quickly become an essential tool for me. This pocket-sized powerhouse is perfect for speed adjustments, allowing me to tweak my truck’s max speed to fit local traffic rules. It’s great to know that I can stay safe on the road while potentially saving on insurance as well!
What impresses me the most is the robust full-system diagnostics. The HD200 connects effortlessly to all the electronic modules, giving me real-time data and details across the board engine, ABS, transmission, and more. I love being able to read and clear diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and get deep insights into what might be going wrong. It really feels like having a professional mechanic’s toolkit right in my pocket.
The Bluetooth connection is incredibly fast, connecting in just a couple of seconds. This feature eliminates the hassle of cables, which I appreciate. I simply download the ANCEL TRUCKER app, turn on Bluetooth, and I’m ready to go. The app is not only easy to use, but it also works seamlessly with the scanner, making it a breeze to navigate even if you’re not particularly tech-savvy.
I also love that the HD200 supports free lifetime software upgrades—no hidden fees or subscriptions! This means I can keep my toolkit updated without worrying about extra costs. It works with over 56 brands and 10,000 models, making it versatile enough for both my trucks and cars.
Overall, I’m really pleased with my purchase. The HD200 has simplified my vehicle diagnostics and maintenance, and I’m glad to have it on hand whenever I need it. ANCEL is the best in the scanning game—always has been! If you’re looking for an efficient and reliable scanner, I highly recommend giving the ANCEL HD200 a try!

The ANCEL HD200 Heavy Duty Truck Scanner is a very useful diagnostic tool. I used this on my 2014 Freightliner Cascadia and the reader was able to analyze the system. It does have a cheap hard plastic for orientating cable on the outer cable port.
The connections hooked right into the freightliners system. I like that it includes wi-fi and Bluetooth connectivity, so I was able to quickly connect to the scanner when it was hooked into my Cascadia once I had the app running on my Samsung Galaxy Note 9.
It was pretty easy to follow the guided instructions on use within the app.
The scanner is quite large at 5.447 inches long by 2.069 inches wide by 1.532 inches tall with 4.84 inches of the length protruding out beyond the connection port. For the size it was pretty light at 4.9 oz. The scanner had an ok plastic exterior.
I am surprised that they didn’t include a carrying case for this! Instead, you are left with the original box packaging that it came in.

I tested this on a car.. I did not test it on any semi’s, but am having a friend test it on them for me.. I will update as to what comes of it. I could only do some basic testing, as the car has no error codes at this time.. I found multiple good and bad things about it.
The good.. It has a lot more features than what you get with the cheap ones 1/4 of the price.. If you are getting this to only read codes, I would just get one of the $50 ones because they will do fine.. At least for cars..
I didn’t like that you have to connect it straight to the OBDII port.. If you have had modifications done, it might not fit.. I did run into this problem on one car that I tested it on.. I had to use an extension cable to use it for this reason.. If you are only using it on unmodified cars, then there should be no problem..
I do and don’t like that you have to use something like a cell phone to use this.. and an app.. Cell phones, unless they are old, are not really cheap.. So if you accidentally break your phone while using this on a vehicle, that get get expensive.. It does give some kinds of extra convenience since you do not have to be tied to the vehicle while using it, but like I said, if that cell gets broke in the process.. Not a good thing.
At $200, it is nice that it can be updated so you do not need to buy another one just because you get a couple years newer of a car.. But then again, that convenience is does not warrant the price difference for the device, vs a cheap one if all you need is it to read codes..
On the app, it did say that you needed to connect it through bluetooth.. They did not give me the option to use wifi like what the listing said it could do.. I personally forgot to check this before I asked my friend to do some testing with it to see if they came up with any problems that I did not find, so I can not say this is set in stone.
Final thoughts.. I got mixed feelings, price is high compared to cheap one (which is bad if you only need a code reader), but those others can not be updated.. I don’t like that you have to buy extra equipment to use it, like an extension cord for some vehicles, and a cell phone (or whatever piece of hardware that you use) just to use it. Especially if you want to lend it to someone. I don’t like that it forces you to make an account with them. But I like the convenience of not having to be tied to the vehicle by cords. and I like the fact that it is easy to use and has a lot of extra features that the cheap ones don’t have.. Not sure how much I will be using those though..
