Apple iPhone 14 Pro 128GB Description

Apple iPhone 14 Pro 128GB: The Flagship That Introduced Dynamic Island

The Apple iPhone 14 Pro 128GB was the phone that changed how the notch works. In its place, Apple carved out the Dynamic Island β€” a shapeshifting cutout that turns notifications, timers, and Live Activities into an interactive part of the screen instead of a dead zone at the top.

Alongside that headline feature, the iPhone 14 Pro packs a 48MP main camera, an Always-On display, and the A16 Bionic chip. With 128GB of storage, it’s the entry-level configuration β€” enough room for most people’s photos, apps, and 4K video without paying for space they won’t use.

Apple has since moved on to newer Pro models, which means the iPhone 14 Pro now sits in the value flagship segment: full Pro-tier hardware at a meaningfully lower price than the current generation. Below, we break down what it actually offers, who it suits, and what to check before you buy.

Dynamic Island: A Genuinely New Way to Use the Front Camera Cutout

Where earlier iPhones hid the front camera and Face ID sensors behind a static notch, the iPhone 14 Pro wraps them in a pill-shaped cutout that expands and contracts depending on what’s happening. A song starts playing, and the Dynamic Island slides out album art. A timer runs, and it counts down right there at the top of the screen.

This isn’t just a cosmetic trick. Because the Dynamic Island is interactive, you can tap and long-press it to control Live Activities β€” sports scores, ride-share tracking, flight status β€” without opening the app. As a result, the top of the screen becomes genuinely useful space instead of a cutout to work around.

The 6.1-inch OLED display underneath runs at 2556-by-1179 resolution and 460 ppi, with ProMotion adaptive refresh up to 120Hz. It also introduced the Always-On display to iPhone for the first time, dimming the lock screen instead of blacking it out so you can check the time and widgets at a glance. Peak outdoor brightness reaches 2,000 nits, so the screen stays readable in direct sunlight.

A 48MP Camera System Built for Detail and Low Light

The camera is where the “Pro” in iPhone 14 Pro earns its name. The main sensor jumps to 48MP at Ζ’/1.78 β€” a major increase over the 12MP sensors Apple used for years β€” paired with sensor-shift optical image stabilization that keeps shots steady in low light.

That extra resolution enables a genuine 2x optical-quality zoom by cropping into the center of the sensor, on top of the dedicated 3x telephoto lens. A 12MP ultra-wide camera rounds out the rear array, and a 12MP TrueDepth front camera with autofocus handles selfies and Face ID.

Photonic Engine, Apple’s computational photography pipeline, applies its processing earlier in the capture pipeline for noticeably better detail and color in mid-to-low light β€” indoor dinners, evening streets, dimly lit venues. Video tops out at 4K ProRes recording (storage and accessory-dependent), with cinematic mode for shallow depth-of-field video and Action mode for stabilized handheld footage.

A16 Bionic, Battery Life, and Everyday Reliability

Under the hood, the iPhone 14 Pro 128GB runs Apple’s A16 Bionic chip β€” a 6-core CPU (2 performance, 4 efficiency) paired with a 5-core GPU and a 16-core Neural Engine. It was the fastest mobile chip available at launch, and in 2026 it still comfortably handles social media, navigation, streaming, photo editing, and most current games without hesitation.

Battery life rates up to 23 hours of video playback. Charging supports MagSafe wireless charging up to 15W and wired fast-charging to roughly 50% in about 30 minutes with a 20W adapter (sold separately). The Ceramic Shield front cover and surgical-grade stainless steel frame give it a durable, premium build, and it carries an IP68 water and dust resistance rating, tested to 6 meters for up to 30 minutes.

Two safety features debuted on this generation and remain genuinely useful: Crash Detection, which can automatically call emergency services after a severe car crash, and Emergency SOS via satellite, which lets you text for help when you’re outside cellular and Wi-Fi coverage.

One important note for comparison shopping: the iPhone 14 Pro uses Apple’s Lightning port, not USB-C. Apple didn’t switch to USB-C until the iPhone 15 Pro the following year. If your accessories, chargers, or car system are already built around USB-C, factor that into your decision.

Storage, Colors, and Connectivity

The iPhone 14 Pro 128GB configuration is the base storage tier β€” comfortable for messaging, streaming, social apps, and a large photo library synced to iCloud, though heavy 4K/ProRes video shooters may want to budget for a higher tier or lean on cloud storage. It’s also available in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB.

The iPhone 14 Pro launched in four finishes: Space Black, Silver, Gold, and Deep Purple β€” the last of which became one of the most requested colors of the generation.

Connectivity covers 5G (including mmWave in supported markets), Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.3. US models use dual eSIM with no physical SIM tray; most international models keep a physical nano-SIM slot alongside eSIM. Face ID, powered by the TrueDepth camera, remains the only biometric unlock method β€” there is no under-display Touch ID on this generation.

Where the iPhone 14 Pro Fits Today

Apple discontinued the iPhone 14 Pro from its own lineup in September 2023, after the iPhone 15 Pro launched. It’s no longer sold new through Apple’s primary storefront, though Apple continued to offer Apple Certified Refurbished units, and it remains widely available new and used through carriers, retailers, and marketplaces β€” which is exactly where price comparison matters most.

Buy it if you want Pro-level cameras, ProMotion, and the Dynamic Island at a price well below the current-generation Pro models, and Lightning-vs-USB-C isn’t a dealbreaker for you.

Consider something else if you specifically need USB-C, the latest camera and chip generation, or you’re buying new-in-box from Apple directly, since availability there is now limited to refurbished stock.

For shoppers chasing flagship features without flagship pricing, the iPhone 14 Pro 128GB remains one of the strongest value plays in Apple’s recent lineup. Use Discompare to compare live prices from verified merchants, track the price history, and set a price alert so you buy at the right moment.

3. Frequently Asked Questions

Is the iPhone 14 Pro 128GB still worth buying in 2026?

Yes, for the right buyer. It still runs the A16 Bionic chip comfortably for everyday use, keeps the 48MP camera system, ProMotion display, and Dynamic Island, and typically costs significantly less than current Pro models. The main trade-offs are the older Lightning port and a shorter remaining runway of major iOS feature updates compared with newer models.

Does the iPhone 14 Pro have USB-C?

No. The iPhone 14 Pro uses Apple’s Lightning connector. Apple introduced USB-C starting with the iPhone 15 Pro the following year. If you need USB-C for existing accessories or EU charger requirements, look at the iPhone 15 Pro or later instead.

How much storage do I actually need β€” is 128GB enough?

128GB comfortably covers messaging, social apps, streaming, and a large photo library backed up to iCloud. If you regularly shoot 4K or ProRes video and keep it stored locally, or install many large games, consider the 256GB or 512GB tier instead.

What colors is the iPhone 14 Pro available in?

It launched in four finishes: Space Black, Silver, Gold, and Deep Purple. Deep Purple was the standout new color of the generation and tends to be the most sought-after on the secondhand and refurbished market.

Does the iPhone 14 Pro support 5G and eSIM?

Yes. It supports 5G, including mmWave in supported regions, plus Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3. US models use dual eSIM only, with no physical SIM tray, while most international models retain a physical nano-SIM slot alongside eSIM.

Is the iPhone 14 Pro camera actually better than older iPhones?

Yes, meaningfully. The main sensor jumped from 12MP to 48MP, enabling a genuine 2x optical-quality zoom on top of the dedicated 3x telephoto, alongside Apple’s Photonic Engine for sharper detail and color in low light. It was the biggest camera upgrade in several generations at launch.

What is Dynamic Island and is it just a gimmick?

Dynamic Island is the interactive, shape-shifting cutout that replaced the notch. It surfaces notifications, Live Activities like sports scores or delivery tracking, and background audio controls directly at the top of the screen. It’s functional rather than purely cosmetic β€” you can tap and long-press it to control what’s running.

Is the iPhone 14 Pro waterproof?

It carries an IP68 rating, meaning it’s built to survive immersion in fresh water up to 6 meters for up to 30 minutes under controlled test conditions. That’s water resistance, not a waterproof guarantee β€” avoid pools, salt water, and high-pressure water exposure, and note that water damage typically isn’t covered under warranty.

Can I still buy the iPhone 14 Pro new from Apple?

Apple removed it from new sales in September 2023 after launching the iPhone 15 Pro, though it has offered it through the Apple Certified Refurbished store. New and used units remain widely available through carriers, authorized retailers, and marketplaces β€” compare current listings on Discompare to see today’s best price.

Does the iPhone 14 Pro have satellite emergency features?

Yes. It includes Emergency SOS via satellite, which lets you text emergency services when you’re out of cellular and Wi-Fi range, and Crash Detection, which can automatically alert emergency services after a severe car crash. Both features launched with this generation.

Attribute normalisation reminders:

  • Storage attribute: 128 GB stored as a distinct normalised value, separate from RAM (6GB, not officially published by Apple β€” do not display unless independently verified per merchant listing).
  • Port/connector attribute: Lightning β€” critical comparison attribute against iPhone 15 Pro and newer, which use USB-C. Do not leave this blank; it’s a common decision factor for shoppers comparing generations.
  • Colour attribute values: Space Black, Silver, Gold, Deep Purple β€” four distinct values, do not merge Space Black with plain “Black” used by other Apple generations.
  • Condition attribute: since Apple no longer sells this model new-in-box through its primary storefront, tag merchant listings clearly as New, Apple Certified Refurbished, Refurbished (third-party), or Used β€” this is now a high-value filter for this SKU specifically.
  • Lifecycle status: mark this product as Discontinued by manufacturer (superseded by iPhone 15 Pro, Sept 2023) in the internal catalog so pricing modules can flag it as a secondary-market product rather than treating stockouts as an error.
  • Carrier lock attribute: normalise as Unlocked, Carrier-locked (specify carrier), since this significantly affects price and is often inconsistent across merchant feeds.

With refurbished I thought it would come with an aftermarket screen and perhaps an aftermarket battery and maybe have minor scuffs. My phone arrived in a generic white box with aftermarket charger but the phone itself was in MINT condition. I could not find a single scratch or scuff. It was perfect physically. Battery health was at 88%, that was the only indication that I could tell it had been used. You can check if it had repairs done to it by going into Settings > General > About and if there is an option that shows β€œparts & services” then you know it was worked on and you can further see if the parts serviced are genuine when you click on it. When I checked that option was not showing so that means it didn’t have any replacements or services done to it. That should not be the expectation when buying refurbished so I consider myself quite lucky and I am very happy with this purchase.

Phone was as expected but they packaged up an android charger with it instead of Apple. You have to return everything to get the one single part

Looks amazing. Works amazing. 84 % battery capacitye. Came with a charging cord and a little tool to remove the SIM Card. Set up and data transfer was easy although I am technically challenged. I decided to buy a phone in Deep Purple colour hoping it would be a better kept trade in phone -maybe from a woman ?- than the black ones are. Maybe I was just lucky ? But this phone is in like new condition and the battery is good too. I am also upgrading from 64 Gb to 512 Gb – what a difference this will be. The only point I would like to raise are the prices. They were all over the place. I bought this phone for $ 812, after I could still cancel the order from the night before ( Dec 24) for $ 850. When I showed my son my order on the evening of Dec 25, it came up with $996! So keep on checking for the very best deal.

I changed my iPhone 11 for this 14 Pro because of storage and some cameras; besides the fact I always wanted a Pro phone. I really got amazed by the price, since in my country it was $200 more than here. Regarding the sending, the product arrived on time. I don’t live in the US, and when it arrived to Ecuador, I could finally check it. Color and storage capacity were as requested. Cameras work perfectly, same as the buttons, speakers and microphone. Dynamic Island works fantastic, and I’m even surprised for the AppleCare warranty. What I got disappointed about was the battery level, as I requested for a β€œReconditioned-excellent” phone. Besides, the selling ad did not mention I was buying an ESIM version, so I had to change my chip. Ah, and let’s not forget the little dent you can see on the side. I confess I was very doubtful about buying here due to the comments: some positive and some really bad. My suggestion, buy at your own risk, but not ensuring to have a great phone or not.

Battery life wasn’t good – 86%. However, phone exterior was in excellent condition with no scratches at all. I was skeptical on buying but this left me with no regrets.

I like the fact that this phone has a feature to where you don’t have to go to your phone service provider to swap over all your data from your old phone to the phone I purchased, there was also no need to put a SIM card into this phone because it has a digital SIM card, so not only was transferring my data a breeze so was having my same number transferred as well, the phone looks like and works like new, for the money this was a great buy. It’s durable the screen is clear and has not one make on it, do yourself and don’t buy new again at some ungodly price, this was the Best Buy yet.

TL;DR. I got the iPhone 14 Pro gold 256 gb and it’s working decently! Sorted through the seller list and I think I picked a great one to buy from. Happy with this purchase.

    Seller Selection:
Need to switch to a new phone since my old one has already stopped updating iOS. I was afraid of getting scammed based on some of the reviews, so I sorted through the sellers list and looked through all of their ratings. I went for a slightly more expensive buy from a seller with a better review overall (actually read the reviews and don’t believe the %positive stuff from Amazon, Amazon marks some of the reviews as β€œAmazon’s fault” and thus do not count them into the overall seller rating, however sometimes the reviews they crossed out are really, the seller’s product problem, which makes the review system kinda sketchy and suspicious.)

I got mine from the seller β€œThe Cell Whiz 2” (it has just an average % positive review rate, but I notice that most of the problems associated with it are minor and the seller looks very responsive to the reviews, so I picked it) and, I’m happy with it so far. In fact, I’m writing my review on this phone right now!

    The phone:
It came in a cardboard box with a charger, both wrapped in a little plastic bag. The packaging doesn’t have any foam or other kinds of protection, so I was a bit worried upon receiving it. Fortunately, nothing cracked or seemed broken.

The phone itself is so spotless I was afraid of getting my grimy fingers on it! I inspected all over the phone and only found a tiny chipped paint scratch on the frame of one of the camera lens. Honestly, no one would even find out about it. And you can’t even see it after you put a lens protection glass on.

Setting up the phone was no issue, I transferred from my physical SIM to an eSIM successfully (though I was a bit nervous during the wait and when I had to click on install cellular again). Apple transferred all my data from my previous iPhone to this one very smoothly. It’s exactly like my old phone, except on a newer model.

The battery capacity it came with is 89%. It’s not THE BEST, but it’s really good. I can still use it for a while before I need to change it.

Overall, I’m happy with this purchase and hopefully everyone who’s reading this review can get a phone they like <3

The media could not be loaded.

At first I was hesitant to buy from the seller or from amazon seller themselves but that is until I read the amazon policy about buying this phone.
Yes, I did get this phone for $405.67, which is a steal in my opinion. Total $453 taxes and shipping
This is not my first time buying an iphone from, Amazon

    Let’s talk about the pros
    The phone came barely scratched
    No marks on the camera,
Everything seems to be working fine
The screen was replaced with a genuine replacement
Battery life is at 86% of time of purchase (pro or con)
    Almost perfect phone

Now let’s talk about the cons
It did not come with a cable,
Did not come with the screen protector
    No charger
    No stickers
    Just the phone
Own battery is at 86% (pro or cons)
It came in white cellohone style box

I do apologize for the Japanese. But you can see where the screen was replaced on August 23rd 2024

I would say give it a try
