I am really liking this brand, except for their sizing. It tends to be all over the place at times. Or maybe things are getting mislabeled.

I ordered this up a size after the last jacket I got from them was too small. But then this is way too big.

Aside from the sizing issue, I think theyโ€™re putting out a good product at a reasonable price. Unlike those $700 jackets at that failing 3 letter store in Portland. Lol

We live in a very warm climate and maybe make one or two trips a year to see snow, if that. There’s no reason for us to spend $$$ to buy snow jackets and gear. And with jackets like this one, we don’t have to.

This one’s is very good quality and warm. Not too heavy so the kids can move normally. And the sizing is true and generous for layering. I got the medium (10) for my 8 year old who is 4’3″ and 60lbs. We can most likely squeeze another season out of it. Got the orange and love the bright colors. ๐Ÿ‘

This jacket is rated 5K which is the minimum for a jacket to be called rain proof. We took it to 2 full days of perfect weather Southern California style skiing. With a ski bib on underneath, it kept my little skier warm and dry.

I really like the look of this jacket. The contrast of the black and white makes it look really nice. I think itโ€™s a little on the thin side, but my son says itโ€™s warm. The inside of the sleeves have a second sleeve with thumb holes. The zipper is a bit finicky and I worry about itโ€™s durability.
The problem I had was with the information provided in the listing. I am hoping the info I provide will help others when sizing. I have included a photo of the sizing guide at the time of ordering. It only states the waist size, and it shows for 2T- 7 only on the top. Depending on the company some say a large is a 10-12, which my son needs, or a 12-14, so I would go by the measurements. The measurement for the large waist size here was 27โ€. That doesnโ€™t seem right as my sonโ€™s waist is 22โ€ and based on that info alone their guide says an XS. I ordered the large on the idea that he could grow into a too large jacket, then a jacket that was too small. So I would say the large is sized closer to a 12-14, and a medium would probably be more like an 8-10.
Also the listing photos doesnโ€™t include any photos of the inside of the jacket. I was hoping the lining would be some sort of fleece or flannel, but there is just a thin synthetic lining. However, the pockets are lined.
So I am happy with this jacket, but the seller really does need to update the listing info and the photos to show more accurate information. Hope this clears up some issues and helps someone decide whether or not to purchase this.

This is a good winter jacket. I ordered the next size up so it is a little large on my son, but it has kept him warm (particularly with sleeves having built-in fingerless mittens/thumb holes) during ice skating lessons. As a parent, I like the bright orange color that makes it easy to see and find my son in a crowd or low light conditions; in other words, early morning waiting for the school bus. A kid my son appreciated that it has plenty of zippered pockets for treasures.
Overall a good winter coat and I’m happy with the quality.

Great winter jacket for my skier. My almost 9 year old son is tall and skinny, 4โ€™8โ€ with 25โ€ waist, weight 70 lb. He wears size 10 shirts now but I choose this jacket in Large. Since the skiing season is almost over, the large will fit him just right next year. He has another jacket by same brand in medium that fits him perfect right now. I choose lime green color so we can see him better at the bottom of the mountain (his current black/gray jacket blends in with everyone wearing similar colors). This lime green color is very vibrant, true to sellerโ€™s pictures. I am sure we will be able to spot him now.

This jacket is stylish and for the most part well constructed. It does not come with a liner but there should be a lot of room for layering for colder days. It is well padded/insulated and appears to be very warm. The hood is not removable. There is one internal mesh pocket on the left side of the jacket. There are total 4 outer pockets: 2 bottom pockets, one on the left chest side, and another one on a left sleeve. With the exception of the sleeve, the 3 outer pockets are zippered. I wish the one on the sleeve was zippered also, but it is closed via a velcro type material. We would normally keep a ski season pass in the sleeve pocket, but I donโ€™t feel confident with it being secured by a small velcro. We will most likely keep the pass in the chest pocket, which will render the sleeve pocket kind of useless. I did notice some of the stitching is loose, but nothing is coming undone yet. I am mainly docking a star off for the sleeve pocket and some sloppy stitching – I would really give this jacket 4.5 stars.

I bought this jacket after winter last year for my son to wear this year. He wore it twice for 2 hours each time and came home to tell us that the jacket seam has come undone and there is now a big hole. I brought it to a seamstress and she told me that because the jacket was made with a large gathering stitch, it will continue to unravel all the way up the arm seam. Upon further inspection of this jacket, it had unraveled up the other arm and down the other side as well. I am writing this review because I could not figure out how to contact the company and see if they will stand by their product and fix the jacket for me by sewing the jacket’s both arms/sides on the seams again so that my son can wear the jacket without having a hole in the sides and armpits/arms.

My son has been wearing his ARCTIX Freefall Jacket as the weather gets colder, and he absolutely loves it! He says itโ€™s super warm and comfortable, making it perfect for outdoor play. The fit is great, and it keeps him cozy even on chilly days. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quality winter jacket for their kids!
