L. P. HAWLEY –
I’ve gone through quite a few cases the last few years and I’ve found reason to replace all of them. The white ASUS TUF Gaming GT302 ARGB feels like a keeper.
Some of the benefits I can think of compared to the other ATX cases I’ve had lately:
– It comes with useable nice standard ARGB-fans that you can connect straight to the motherboard (unlike e.g. Corsair that have their own non-standard stuff)
– The case panel/ports are easily accessible in the front and not awkwardly positioned on the top or side.
– Great size. Not too small, it still fits EATX motherboards and is easy to work with, but it’s not too big so it feels clumsy and/or extremely heavy.
– The white color is actual white and not dirty white like some other so called ‘white’ cases. It’s not as snow-white as some Fractal Design cases, but still what I’d call true white.
– The front fans cover the full front area all the way to the bottom, so you can put U.2/U.3 SSD drives close to the bottom fan, as such drives desperately needs cooling.
Is it perfect? No, but I say it’s 90% there, and I can’t think of a better case available today, so I definitely rate it five stars.
Just to mention something negative, which like everything here, is just personal opinions, is that I’m not too fond of the fully covering PSU ‘shroud’, and I definitely miss 5.25″ external bays (which I find just sad that almost no cases has today).

This case is straight worth the $140.00. I bought this case to replace the Deepcool matrix 70. The metric 70 when I bought it was $69. For that, you got mostly plastic construction, front and side tempered glass panels, plastic mesh that let nearly no air through, front vents that let nearly no air through, and very little cable management. For some reason, the matrix 70 also comes with a tempered glass PSU shroud which I don’t understand the use for that as the PSU shroud is to cover the cables so you don’t see them. With the G 501, you get more room than the metric 70 to build as you can even have a dark rock pro 4 air cooler installed on your motherboard and have more than enough room to work with the top of the motherboard. You have more than enough room for cable management the best part about that is the holes in the PSU shroud that allow you to make that horrible looking adapter cable for the 30 series NVIDIA founders edition cards look half decent in the case. You can vertically Mount a GPU which I will be doing on Thursday when my riser cable arrives and with the sheer volume of air that is in the case the thermals for the GPU won’t be an issue. With everything air-cooled, I saw a 5 to 10 C decrease in temperature for my GPU and CPU when switching to this case. Don’t let the front panel scare you the side vents are huge and there’s no restrictive mesh on the side vents. They are just holes in the metal front plate that allow a lot of airflow. One of the other things I really like about this case is all of the filters are fabric filters. This allows a lot more airflow through the filters. On the backside of the motherboard plate, there is a lot of potential for cable management in the back of the case. The case comes with Velcro straps already on the back and knobs for zip ties. I’m not very good at cable managing but the back of this looks a hell of a lot better than the back of my matrix did. Lastly, I do love the inclusion of the straps at the top of the case for carrying. I have a tendency of moving my case and tinkering with my computer so this makes it much easier for me. It is very much true but you get what you pay for. I went out looking for something very specific in a case. I wanted a case that could handle three 140 millimeter fans in the front which this cannot but it does have the 140 in the back which I also wanted. believe me in this case 3 one 20s in the front is more than enough airflow to keep this case cool and the 140 exhaust fan right behind The CPU cooler is exactly what I wanted. If you are looking to get this case I highly recommend it and I have no regrets about getting it.

So much SPACE! YES! I truly adore this thing. Built well. Cools well. Looks amazing. Plenty of room for even the largest video card. It looks so organized and slick. No compromise. No worries. This case is incredibly awesome (as long as you have the space of course!). I highly recommend it.

I’ve been waiting for the right time to land this case because I’m all about the TUF line of products made by ASUS.
I’ll make this review shorter than my normal lengthy reviews with a simple PROS/CONS list:
PROS:
Cost – At $129.99 (on sale) I felt this was a reasonable price to pay for a style of case that catches my eye.
Ample space – This case has lots of space for airflow, components, and LEDs. I’m not used to working with LEDs but there are also connectors for the built in case LEDs (front fans). The headspace for a radiator and a full water cooling systems is generous as well. With this case, you won’t have to worry about cramping things into a tightly confined space.
Screens/Filters – The case comes with some very nice screen and filter features to keep dust to a minimum. My house accumulates dust with people and dogs (and a ball python!) so I’m a stickler for having space for filters.
Fans – Plenty of provided fans that are quiet, move air handily, and the front fan LEDs are a nice touch.
Enclosed PSU channel – This is a nice touch. This IS a PRO, but I’m a little disappointed that there’s no rubber passthrough grommets. They’re located to the right of the motherboard mounting space but I think the PSU channel’s opening should have them as well. Keep the PSU isolated as much as possible is my thought.
CONS:
Cable Management – It’s a defacto standard in most all cases now, and while this is addressed, the right-side panel seems short on zip-tie anchor points. I would like to see more of a lattice of anchor points, even if they’re affixed to the base instead of being punched through. Asus included a good number of zip-ties however. So a small CON and not too glaringly annoying. It’s a personal wish so I’m not deducting any stars.
Width – While there’s lots of space in this case, a little narrower of a design would be good. I know cases are handling larger and larger GPUs and water cooling, but I think ASUS designed this one overly generous. It encroaches on too much of my desk space and I didn’t realize this prior to buying it. Should I have measured? Yes. Did I? No. My fault. But it’s still pretty wide.
All in all, I’m happy with the case. It’s a nice change from my black case without any RGB. I don’t need a lot of RGB but his provides just enough to keep things happy and not too distracting. I would recommend this case to any PC builder that wants a very cool looking case, likes the ASUS brand, and wants to customize a PC that fits an individuals varying tastes in components, cooling, and lighting.
