I watched a few YouTube videos on this crossbow before it got here and it was just as easy to set up as others had said. I ordered a couple different packs of arrow with it so I’d have more to work with while sighting it in. This is where the problems started. Out of the box the elevation on the scope was set to about an inch high at 20 yards so I figured I’d leave that alone for now. However the windage was a few inches to the left. I originally could get the scope to sight in so I only gave it 4 stars. However after taking to Barnett support they agreed to warranty the scope. Even though the new scope hasn’t arrived, I’m sure I will be able to sight it in with this the new one. The scope is about what you’d expect for a cheap scope. I plan to upgrade it to a Vortex scope one of these days but not right away.

This is my first and likely only crossbow. I bought it to check off a long time bucket list item and I’m pleased with its performance. It is clearly more accurate than I have the ability to shoot it and while I haven’t been able to chronograph the arrow speed, I have no doubt it’s shooting close to the claimed 350 FPS. I’ve been having fun with it shooting release bolts into water jugs and the results are quite impressive.

Other than the scope, the only problem I’ve had is with the quiver and I don’t consider that worth knocking a star off for. I had to do some work on the mount to get the quiver to clip on like it was supposed to and it’s a real bear getting the arrow in and out of.

HAD TO ADJUST SCOPE UP 64 CLICKS TO GET ON TARGET. DAMAGED 1st ARROW BECAUSE I SHOT TO LOW. REALLY LIKE THIS BOW, ONLY 5 SHOTS SO FAR. LIGHT AND POWERFUL. THE TRIGGER UPGRADE IS GREAT.

This is my first cross box or any form of archery for that matter. I did not want to spend much money on a bow, so I found this inexpensive set. I was skeptical at first but after sighting in the crossbow and how easy it was to zero in at 40 yards. I was impressed with how it functioned, the power it carried, and the lightweight of the bow.

My first crossbow. Fairly quiet after the string dampening system upgrade. Took awhile to sight it in at 20 yards, but after that I was hitting close to bullseye the rest of the day. I need to find some longer ranges now. 🙂

Relatively easy to assemble. I read many reviews about this bow and it’s scope. The scope isn’t the greatest but it will do. Sighted it in at 20 yards first. It was on the target, tight group, but low and left. Didn’t take long to get it centered! I’d recommend don’t send too many down range as the groups are tight and you could damage arrows. Very tight out to 40 yards but opened up a bit out to 55. 40 is all I need. Nice bow, light, easy to draw the string back. I do wish it was quieter when firing. Pleased with the purchase so far and looking forward to getting my first deer with a crossbow!

Got two bucks this year with it. Very accurate and very fast. Would buy again.**Updated review** So now I’ve had this bow since September of 2019 I figured I’d update the review if there are any tire kickers concerned about longevity of a lower end crossbow. To date I believe I’ve taken 3 bucks, 13 does, and two 150# wild pigs. This bow is just as good of a buy now as it was then. As the other reviewers mention the scope is laughable but I took it off long ago and threw it on a 22 rifle because it has good crisp lines and my iron sights busted off so it needed one and why not use one that’s just laying around? Anyhow back to the bow, I’m ROUGH on my equipment, it gets strapped to the back of the quad on top of my climber and isn’t handled gently. That being said I’ve never had any problems whatsoever out of this bow. It’s been covered in mud and I just hosed it off and dried it and re-lubed everything and it shoots as good now as it did the first week I had it. I know you shouldn’t leave them cocked for any extended period of time but I frequently do and just leave it ready to roll on a hook in the garage so I can grab it quick and go out behind the house and shoot a deer if I see on in the yard. Although there was one time my wife cocked it and somehow was able to get the string to lock in but it wasn’t far enough back for the bolt to trigger the Anti-Dry-Fire mechanism on the safety. Telltale sign if that happens to you is the ability move the safety just a little bit but there is no detent like it’s disengaged. But that was not a problem with the bow, more so that the rope pull was too long and she couldn’t get it back far enough. Another quick thing to make it easier is just to go ahead and make the rope pull shorter so you don’t have to worry about that. I shot one deer at 62 yards and it did the job but I don’t normally shoot past 40-45. I shoot 125 grain rage mechanicals and never had an issue with them deploying (until the new hypodermics…junk). This is a great bow whether you’re just starting out or just retiring your old bow. I’m sure the 2000 dollar bows may have more features and shoot a little better but I doubt they can take a beating like this thing has. At $399 the price is right, it’s a good looking bow and it has held up to some rough treatment. If you’re considering this bow, go ahead and buy it. You will not be disappointed.
