Casio STR300-7 Sports Watch – White

I am a big fan of sports watches and I pretty much wear mine 24/7 until they beak. I started looking around for a new one but was bored and tired of the same one I had been getting for years. So i kept putting off getting a new watch until I could find something that I really liked. When I came across this watch I was a little skeptical because some reviews were saying the buttons were hard to push or the light was not the best but for the price I went ahead and ordered it anyway.
I am so happy I did order this watch, it looks great, it fits well and I haven’t had any problems with it yet. I am a swim instructor so I wear the watch in the water all day and it has been just fine. I don’t use the timer and lap counter or alarm much but the buttons are fine to push. And I actually like the amount of time the numbers stay illuminated, its plenty of time to see the time in the dark.
So great watch and a great value!

6 mois de port quotidien et je suis très satisfaite. La montre est de très bonne qualité.

La montre fonctionne toujours parfaitement, port quotidien, piscine etc.
Je racheterai le même modèle compte tenu de sa solidité pour cette gamme de prix (surtout si on compare aux “grandes marques ” onéreuses qui ne tiennent pas et incitent au rachat).

This watch is quite small compared to other Casio sport watch, and fits perfectly on my girlfriend’s wrist.
I got the white/pink colour one and she likes the colour. Please note that the colour is pink (not red as can be seen on the Amazon’s product picture).
The placement of front Start/Stop and Reset buttons makes this watch a really good running watch as a stopwatch since you can access the button easily.
The light source of the backlight is LED on the left hand side of the screen, it’s not as bright as G-shock illuminator but does the job. On the white version, the backlight colour is pinkish red and it matches the colour scheme of this watch.
I give it 5 stars due to its reasonable price, functionality, and aesthetic. Additionally, I could say at this price this is the best women running watch.

I love this watch so far, it works as a basic digital watch and the style is rad. I can see the time in bright sun wearing polarized sunglasses. Nightlight works well. The only suggestion would be to make the time a bit darker of a pink?

This is a very pretty, functional watch with one big flaw.

Pro:
+ Cute. Don’t know why inexpensive sports watches have to look so ugly, when this watch proves that they can look great!.

+ Pacer. Why have I never seen this on a watch before? You can set the pace and your watch will beep at that pace (not constantly) so that you can check to make sure you’re running at that pace.

+ Count down timer. This is my favorite feature. I’m easily distracted and will start doing something “just for a few minutes” and find myself still at it an hour later. I set the timer for 5 minutes to keep on track. Great watch if you have ADHD.

+ Autolight feature. This is great. If you hold your arm parallel and tilt it towards you, as if you were trying to read the watch, it will automatically turn the light. No fumbling around to hit a button to read the time in the dark. Maybe not your friend in movie theaters, but this feature can be turned off with one long button press.

Negatives:
– I love the red numbers, but side by side to my old Casio they are a little hard to read at some angles in direct light. Not that bad though.

– Buttons are a little stiff, but it does keep it from accidentally switching screens which happens constantly with my older Casio.

– Band is also a little stiff. I don’t know if it’s just because it’s new, but it feels kind of plasticy and hard. I miss the soft, flexible rubber-like band on my older watch.

– This is the deal breaker for me: you can’t mute the button beeps. Every time you push a button it beeps at you. No way to turn this off like in other models, except for mechanically disabling the beeper. I need this watch to take vitals and time myself during exams, but the loud beeps when I switch modes isn’t acceptable in these settings. I am seriously considering returning this watch, but the otherwise awesome feature set makes me hesitate.
