Shipped to northern Canada quite fast. Arrived in perfect condition, tuned up nicely and is ready to go! I cannot remark on how it sounds as I am just a beginner, but from what I hear in Youtube videos and other reviews, I am excited to get to know how to use it!
Pictures don’t do it justice, the case is very nice and durable too after a lot of research it seems this is the best bang for my buck for a beginner violinist that wants to dabble with electric and reverb effects. 🙂

If you’re a beginner looking for an acoustic/electric violin with an antique varnish finish, this particular model might be a good option for you.
The violin is well-made and feels sturdy in your hands. The antique varnish finish gives it a nice vintage look, which is a nice touch. The sound is good and the instrument holds its tune well.
One of the biggest selling points of this violin is the fact that it is an acoustic/electric hybrid. This means that you can plug it in and amplify the sound, which is great for live performances or recording sessions. The electronics work well and produce a clean sound with minimal feedback.
However, there are a few downsides to this violin. One is that the included bow is not of the best quality, so you might want to consider purchasing a separate bow if you plan on playing frequently. Another is that the overall sound of the instrument is not as rich and full as you might expect from a higher-end violin.
In summary, this is an okay beginner’s acoustic/electric violin with an antique varnish finish. It has some nice features and a good sound, but there are some downsides to keep in mind. Overall, it’s a decent option for a beginner who is just starting out and looking for an affordable instrument.

Amazon delivered my first violin very quickly. Within a week which was faster than expected. Well packaged and arrived in mint condition. Thank you to Canada Post for always delivering my stuff fast and intact. I am very impressed with the CVNAE. I researched alot before adjusting anything from tuning to bridge height. And don’t forget rosin 🙂 For the price, I think this is the best bang for your buck for the novice if you want an electric/acoustic violin. It is well made and has surprisingly good parts for the price. The fine tuners work well for me, better than expected. Once I properly tuned it and applied rosin I was surprised by the sound. I expected a thin sound but it was warmer than expected. Fit and finish: Parts are assembled very well, finish is not perfect, slight overspray on fingerboard and of course a bit of orange peel on the paint as you would expect for the price. That’s why I gave it 4 stars and the bridge is too tall. Easy to mod if you know how to do that and you can find alot of DIY info on the net. Overall, I think this is an excellent violin for the price with the ebony fingerboard and fittings. I shopped around before buying the Cecilio and found many with plastic fingerboards and fittings. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for their first violin, especially if you want an acoustic/electric. I have played guitar for longer than I wanna admit and and this is a welcome change, a different animal. I can’t wait to play it through my 5150 🙂 I love it. I hope this helped someone 🙂

I’m a newbie, so I really can’t compare the sound of this violin to any other. That being said, I am thoroughly impressed with the quality of this musical instrument. The painted body of the violin is gorgeous. A gleaming white that seems to sparkle in sunlight. The finger board and chin rest are a contrasting black which gives this violin a showboat appearance. The fit and form seems sturdy and very well put together. It is very light but feels very solid. Everything arrived in tact with no broken or disrupted parts. (Unlike other electric violins I saw reviewed) interestingly, a sheet of paper accompanied the violin that instructed you bring it to a luthier if anything is amiss, I doubt one would bother with that expense and just return it. So be advised. The case is very nice. The inside is felt lined with a hard shell with a separate felt blanket cover to protect the instrument. It also contains a four inch square closed compartment. The inside top contains space to hold two bows. The case is roomy and I can store my Kun shoulder rest with the violin with no problem. The strings and bow seemed to be well made and very useable. The musical tone seems very nice and after an hour or so the strings stayed in perfect tune for days on end. Hooked up to a small amp this violin really shines and sounds like a thousand dollars. I am very pleased with this violin. Acoustic and electric all in one for very short, money. A no brainer !
P.S. Just saw an ad on a popular violin educational website selling the exact same violin package for $399. Now, they do include free tuning….let see, I bought an $7. tuner and did it myself. So Amazon’s price makes this buy so much sweeter !

For a little over $100 I think this violin is a pretty good value and sound can be improved by purchasing some extras.
I bought this to learn to play on. At 6 months in I went to a violin shop, heard how much better expensive instruments sounded and bought a $700 violin. 6 months further on now and a lot of my sound problems that frustrated me into buying the better instrument aren’t really there anymore when I got back and play this one. The $700 violin does still sound nicer, but I would hope so. The pickup does make this violin heavy, 22oz for this violin vs 17oz for the other one. I needed the shoulder rest when I started playing and when I switched to the other violin was able to quit using it.
There’s lots of advice about what to buy to improve this violin and all of the stuff is expensive, especially compared to the price of this kit. Here’s what I tried and how it worked out.
Strings: First I bought Artisan’s Violin Strings for 4 4 & 3 4 Size, G-D-A-E Strings Those were barely/if at all an improvement from what came on the violin, Not really worth the purchase.
Then I tried Thomastik-Infeld VI100 Vision Violin Strings, Complete Set, 4/4 Size They did make a difference and even at $50 a set was the cheapest way to get the most improvement in sound especially on the low end. I’m not sure had I put these strings on right away if I would have bought the more expensive violin so soon.
Bow: I bought an Arnold carbon fiber violin bow at the violin shop for $150 with the second violin, it was the 2nd cheapest thing they sold. I can tell some difference in the sound between that and the bow that came with this set. A new bow would probably be the thing to get after new strings.
Rosin: Didn’t even try the rosin that came with this. I did try Jade L’Opera JADE Rosin for Violin, Viola, and Cello and it was horrible. It left a mess all over everything and caked up on my strings. Buy the most expensive rosin you can get if you think it’ll make a difference. I’ve been practicing an hour a day most everyday and haven’t hardly put a dent in my block of rosin. It’s works out to be pretty much free per hour of play.
Over all no one who isn’t an absolute beginner would be buying this violin. Had my cheapest option been a $500 bare bones setup from a violin shop I would have never even tried to learn to play. Now a year in I love it and play everyday thanks to this purchase. I’ve kept this violin around because it can’t have much resale since it’s so cheap new and it does have the pickups in case I’d want to amplify or record something. I’ve never amplified this except for once right out of the box. It sounded just like I was playing only louder, which for a beginner means it sounded horrible. I haven’t amplified it since because a violin is loud enough on its own unless you’re performing somewhere maybe.
For a beginner I’d definitely recommend this kit. If you know 100% for sure you’d be playing after another 300 hours of practice then maybe you should just start on something nicer. If you’d like to try it and make sure it’s for you, you can’t hardly lose. A bottom of the line bow at a violin shop costs more than this whole kit.

I purchased this Violin back in November 2021. I have been playing on it ever since and it is now 2024. I have used it to perform church specials, play outside, and even in the park. No batteries needed. Plug and play with an amp. However, I will recommend you change out the strings that it comes with. I feel they are beginner strings Also, do not purchase cheap strings or you will get a bad sound. Go for anything $25-$50. You will sound great. You may need to get a new bow too. I picked up this Violin for the price, the design, and I am happy that I got it. The case is sturdy and hard. It will protect it from a variety of things. I am satisfied with my purchase. My brother is also getting one of these too! Take great care of it.

Average sound and box was opened and no user guide in it.
I was disappointed and I have decided to give 2 stars , they failed in proper delivery and parts were missed.

It was $275 cad delivered in 2020. Researched the manufacturer first for quality of manufacture. Had it customized by the local violin doctor for another $165. better Strings, lower bridge, german made tail. Tuning pegs seated tighter for double hole support. Technician liked the quality, and pickup after putting it through its paces. He was smiling.
Electric pickup works great. My father worked as a repair tech for 45 years. It got his approval.
Not a strat. Excellent quality for the money for beginner or mid level after tweaks.
My son loves it! His 3rd Violin! Good enough for me.
