Wow, great strings. right after stringing up on my Warwick 5 rock bass, they sounded real bright and punchy. Most strings also waver out of tune right away, but these ones pretty much stayed in tune.

Year after year of using these strings, these just perform better than no other! Great longevity and durability. Tone is incredible, bright, punchy, piano-y, just the way I like it. I tried NYXTs for a little while, but they weren’t as bright and didn’t sustain as well. Went back to NYXLs and I’m happy again!

I use NYXL on my guitar regularly and decided to try them on the bass as well. I like the sound of these strings.

I’m assuming the longevity is ok (if I compare to guitar counterpart), not like coated string (or even flatwound) and there are cheaper options that last just as long as NYXL strings, but again there is something that keeps bringing me back in the sound.

In my opinion, there is no end all be all in strings, regardless of the instrument, a lot to do with personal taste and budget.

I happened to have gotten these strings at a pretty low price, so made them extra worth it.

Van varios meses desde que las puse y aún conservan buen brillo, sin oxidarse nada, a pesar de ser alguien al que le sudan mucho las manos

I’m new to bass, but I’ve been buying NYXL strings for my Stratocaster for a while now. Excellent, excellent strings. I replaced whatever strings came on my 70s classic vibe Squire bass I had, and these sounds brighter with the tone up, and deeper with the tone down. Sounds amazing, even on a cheap fender amp. Pricey, but worth it!

When doing some rando research on the net, I saw some people raving about these strings. I bought some for a guitar that I had being shipped to me that was in super rough shape, and I knew had some broken strings. So a set of these (guitar of course) were the first things to go on it. And to my surprise, the guitar sounded beautiful. So now that it was time to replace the strings on my bass, I figured why not give these a try as well. My CT had Boomers on it when Carl sent it to me back in May. I was planning to replace those identically; because if that was Carl’s go to, it made sense to me. But throwing caution to the wind, I bought the D’Addario’s instead. Boy I couldnt be happier. They sound absolutely amazing. They play very nicely. Feel great on my fingers. And my CT just sounds amazing with them.

BTW – It is mentioned on the Amazon listing; but worth restating. Dont forget that there is a code on the inner plastic bag holding the strings. I forgot about it for the guitar strings I bought. Luckily I placed my Boomers in the bag in case I wanted to put them back on later, and then remembered a few days later. Every 8 sets of strings gets you enough points for a free set. And points are equated to the value of the product bought, and can be applied to any other product. So a few sets of bass strings will net a free set of guitar strings, etc.

I have been using the same set of strings for almost 20 years, but since the start of the pandemic I’ve been switching out and trying all sorts of new brands.

Was super pleased with these. They had a nice bright sound, and a lot of good bounce when you’re playing slap or tap.

It did take about a week, for the strings to wear in and the bright tone to appear. Once it does it was really steady and lasted for quite some time. When these strings get old though they really go fast.

I’m the opposite of most bass players and I changed my strings quite often on average about once a month. These strings gave me an extra couple weeks, but I had to have another set ready to go because they really go flat when they get old.

I was one of the lucky few who got to try out the NYXL bass strings before they were released. I have been a fan of D’Addario for years, and these strings quickly became my favorite. I have used the regular round wound strings before and thought those were good. These are a notch higher in sound and quality.

The sound is similar, but I would have to say that notes are louder and cleaner. I found it easier to hear myself in the mix during live performances. I also found that the strings sounded better longer than the regular strings from D’Addario. So I could play these strings for a longer amount of time before changing them out. I think that is worth the price right there!

If you are looking for strings that last a long time and push your sound to a new level then buy a set now!

So up front, I really like the Daddario XL’s….so much so that I’m reluctant to use another string unless I know first hand they’re great. Took a chance on these because the promises of even better intonation and tuning stability, more flexibility, and better low-mid range punch made me decide to try them. Glad I did….they sound like XL’s with some extra juice…..and they feel great. The B string really sings with these also.

Totally recommended if you are a Daddario fan….and if not? Try em anyway. We all want that elusive tone (whatever that means to you).

Side note….if you are using regular XL you may need a slight truss rod tweak as these are slightly less tension. I really didn’t HAVE to on my Lakland 55-02D, but in order to get that little bit of relief I needed a half turn.
