If youβre looking to pick up a starting E-Kit to use for PC Rhythm games like Clone Hero, YARG, or GHWT, this is absolutely perfect. Been using them for about 4 months now and theyβve been working great. You could also use these on console with an adapter for games like Rock Band. Not bad for the price.

I’m mostly a guitarist but I have a bunch of other instruments and like to make multi-track recordings in Ableton Live for fun. I’m not a drummer, but I wanted a basic drum kit to “get ideas” that I would either drum into an Ableton track, or use the concept to lay down via midi in Ableton.
The Donner DED-20 is excellent value for the money (as all Donner products have been for me so far). I can either drum through the integrated speaker to various backing tracks and using different drum sample sets, through head phones; or connect via USB to my computer and drag a drum sample set from Ableton Live to the midi track that’s watching the drum kit and set up each button/pad however I want. Dragging and dropping the kit is fine though, and I just hit each pad once to see what it did, if I don’t want to get fancy and configure it further.
The two food pedals are a bit spongy but work well in my opinion. I think that it’s generally accepted that a pro drummer uses the front-pad of their foot and keeps their heels elevated, to keep a beat. So having small pedals that fit the front-pad of the foot seems totally fine and keeps the cost to make the set low.
My only gripe is that the top left drum pad sensor isn’t connected properly and sounds like a plastic grocery bag when touched, and doesn’t sit perfectly flat like the rest of the pads and their internal sensors. The pad sensor totally works though.
In terms of the pads, they’re pretty responsive and letting the drum sticks bounce with tiny bounces actually triggers multiple drum hits. I’ve seen a couple of videos of real drummers using this kit and it wasn’t holding them back at all.
This kit would be great for kids or adults like me who aren’t pro drummers but want to learn and have fun with a kit without breaking the bank account. Pro drummers can get a surprising amount out of this kit; but most of the drummers I know will save up for a real kit or a premium electronic kit for $1500 bucks (more or less) to be closer to the full experience of drumming on a full-size kit.
Very impressed by this besides the slight quality-control issue on the top left drum pad; which doesn’t actually affect playing the kit at all.

They sound good and are easy to use.

Bought this for my grandson and he loves it! The sound quality from the small speakers are adequate for what it is. The drum pads themselves are really sensitive and can register multiple trigger inputs, so I find it to be imperative that it’s played in a conscious manner to not allow the sticks or hands from resting on the pads. Colorful pads for easy visual to sound recognition and comes complete with drum sticks. Aux input is nice and has a headphone output as well for continual play when others may need some quiet time. Pad sensitivity and sound quality (which isn’t horrible for what it is) are the only reasons for me that it didn’t get 5 stars.

I got this for my middle school son, who just started percussion in band this year and has been learning on a drum set as well. I thought this would be an easy way to practice without having to buy a whole drum set or other big and loud equipment.
I asked him to provide his feedback for how he felt about it, and this is what he said.
“It isn’t really great to help practice on. The hit point is small, so you have to hit it in a specific point to get sound. The sticks are too short compared to what we usually use, and they feel cheaply made. The pedals don’t work well and are hard to push down. This doesn’t feel realistic and is hard to practice on since it doesn’t always make sound when I hit it.”

My son got this for his 8th birthday but we have Al enjoyed playing! Great drum set and great to practice and play with. Lots of beats to play with or just play your own beat. Literally takes up a tiny spot. My son keeps it on a little fold out table but can be used anywhere. We
Love it! Great purchase. Bonus is he can wear headphones so we donβt all have to enjoy it if we are doing other things.

Easy to use. Not too loud but engaging and realistic.

It is overpriced in my opinion, and i got the “upgrade” and spent more, i should have just went with the cheaper one. I know it is sort of a toy but it is supposedly good for some professional use too, just maybe making some fun drumlines on pc or something. It is OK, would have been maybe even somewhat good if it was power priced. Think i paid 80 bucks or something around there. yikes.

Our 7 year old is always making up songs and trying to create music! We got her this for Christmas and she loves it! It may not have “professional sound” but is great for a beginner looking to make beats! It is very portable and works great! We love that it has volume control, unlike our younger son’s “real kit”!

My son asked for a HUGE drum set for his birthday but we were tight on space so we ordered this drum pad instead and it’s GREAT! He’s happy and we’re happy!

Only letdown is I assumed it had a rechargeable battery pack, but thatβs on me assuming. Nothing a portable power bank canβt solve. Other than that, it is awesome. My kids love it.

It did not come with the 40 free tutorials the description said it comes with. Wrote customer service and no response. Son was excited as Christmas present. Product is good but inaccurate description and no customer support gives this rating.
