Bought these to help reduce pain in the ball of my foot. Interestingly, you don’t place these pads under the ball of your foot which is what I thought, but you place them just behind the ball of your foot close to the start of the arch of your foot. They offer support and help in reducing impact from the ball of your foot. I found the right spot and adhered the pads to my shoe footbed inserts. Feel a little odd at first, but you can see and feel how these will reduce direct foot bed strikes when walking and running. Good product for a common problem.

Difficult to position correctly in the shoe. When positioned where you want it, the adhesion is poor and the pad does not stay where you want it. It provides little to no relief.

These are great but they donโ€™t stick and stay in place. Every time I put my shoes on I need to adjust them in place. Good comfort and thickness though

Updateโ€ฆI do not recommend this item. I tried to use this in my shoe, but, it did not stick at all plus I tried six times and could not get it in the proper position. If I had, I would have to find that same spot every time I put my shoe on because the pad slips when I move my foot (and yes, I did remove the plastic sheet from the sticky side). Iโ€™m unable to return these because I threw away the original package.

Took some effort to figure out where this was supposed to sit on my foot. Never used these before, but once I got it in the right spot I felt immediate relief. Right now it just sits under my foot (not adhered to my shoe) because I have thick socks on with my Birkies and am only wearing it around the house. I wish that the packaging had an image of where to situate these pads because I almost threw them away thinking it was just more snake oil.

I bought these because the balls of my feet hurt horribly after long hour shifts standing on my feet all day. I took the plastic off the back where the adhesive was, and I there was practically nothing. They had enough adhesive to hold on to the plastic, but they were never going to stick to my soles. I knew going in these things had poor adhesive, but I didn’t realize they were this bad. I got some gorilla glue, put some on the back and put them on the soles, put some weight on them and let them sit over night. They say you’re supposed to put them on the sole behind the balls of your feet, so I did. They specifically mentioned not to put it directly under the balls of your feet, so I didn’t. I followed the directions. I wore them for two hours and the balls of my feet hurt so bad, I had to go home, change shoes, and go back to work. They also were cutting off circulation to my toes, so I couldn’t just keep them on. Next day I tried again, but I ripped the inserts off my soles (tearing the soles by the way) and moved them back towards my heel more. Same thing; loss of circulation to my toes, and now they were back far enough to were I couldn’t wear them again because they were hurting my arches. I threw them away. Now I have a torn sole, their gel for the padding is stuck to the sole, I’m out $12, and my feet hurt worse than they did without them. Please do not buy.

Iโ€™ve been putting up with terrible pain in my feet for months now. I have always had flat feet. Some people only have no longitudinal arch. I also donโ€™t have the transverse arch – never have. And now Iโ€™ve developed bunions because of this. I saw these and thought Iโ€™d give it a try before having to invest in orthotics. The problem with orthotics is that I work from home and so very seldom wear shoes (I know lucky me-not as much as youโ€™d think). So I thought Iโ€™d actually tape these on the bottoms of my feet for around the house. Voila! My feet felt better within days. So now Iโ€™ve ordered more to actually stick in my shoes.

After overdoing treadmill and elliptical machine in my old running shoes, I began having metatarsal pain in my left foot. It got to the point where even wearing cushioned slippers was not enough to prevent the pain. At first I used gel cushions under the ball of my foot, which seemed to help but these things were what really did the trick!!
I was skeptical, not really thinking that wearing a cushion behind the area I was experiencing the pain would help… but I was so wrong!!
These things allowed me to continue moderate cardio as i healed, and after a couple weeks all pain was gone even without the inserts!!
Be sure you place them in the correct position behind the ball of your foot but before your arch. They DO NOT go underneath the ball of your foot like a cushion! They work by spreading your toe bones out and need to go just behind the ball of your foot. I also use arch support inserts and stuck these babies onto the end of them so I was able to wear both my heel/arch support insert and these things at the same time.
In the beginning they do take some practice to get into the right position and then getting them to stay while you put your foot into the shoe. I loosened my laces all the way so I could be sure I placed them in the right position. Then I very carefully slid my feet in while holding onto the pad under my foot. I stood and tied my laces. I never had them move around as I wore them, whether I was jogging or doing the elliptical, etc.
The first few times they did want to scoot around as I took my shoes on and off so I would reposition it and hold it in place when putting my feet in. But the more I wore them the more they stuck. After a few times, they stayed in place on their own but I can still take them out if I want.
Whatever the bottom stuff is, it doesn’t feel very sticky, but it works.
Love these things!!! Just read the directions and watch a YouTube video if necessary to ensure you wear them correctly and to see tips!

I purchased a pair of Sketcher’s athletic shoes and a pair of Sketcher’s Massage Fit sandals as I believe they have the best comfortable support for my feet. I inserted my orthotics in the athletic shoes and I stuck Dr. Scholl’s metatarsal pad in my sandals just below the ball of my foot. After several days of walking in both shoes, I realized that my left foot which had a swollen nerve did not hurt anymore and my right foot and heel pain had greatly diminished. The metatarsal pad does as it is supposed to in relieving the pressure from the ball of my foot and that makes me happy so I can get back on my feet and back to my active life. My foot doctor told me that a lot of advertisements show the wrong position in wearing the met pad and advised me of the correct position, which is directly below the ball of the foot; not on the ball of the foot. I will add a photo in the next couple of days showing the met pads in my Sketchers sandals.

Googlen “where to place metatarsal pads”. Si las recomiendo.

If you clean the footbed surface and apply pressure for a few minutes, these pads donโ€™t slip. They were very helpful in making my foot feel better when they were put in the right position.
