Consumer –
I’ve been using DR strings for at least 20 years. I moved to coated strings because my hands are a little clammy and acidic. I go through non coated strings within a month or so. When these came out a few years ago, I loved the look of them. I figured since they’re coated, they will help with my acidic sweaty hands. The tone is consistent from day one until you’re done with them. Sure, uncoated strings have a slightly different tone. But that tone changes greatly over a period of time. I usually get about three months or more per set of these practicing nearly everyday, two rehearsals a week, and a few three hour gigs per month. They do start flaking the color after a couple months, especially where they rub on the frets. But by the time it’s noticeable, I have a new set to replace them. I’ve had three instances within probably 7 years where a string broke. I don’t usually break strings, and DR was happy to send me a replacement set at no cost after a quick email. These are a perfect fit for me. They sound great, they look cool, the price is good and they last longer than most strings I’ve tried.

I was using Ernie Ball Regular Slinkys for the last 7 years, they are great and have bright sound.
I had a show recently and decided to use DR colored strings though I had some issues with DR long time ago.
So. The look is good. The sound… not really unless you don’t employ treble in your sound. The problem is my sound has a lot of lows and highs and DR Neon’s coating seems to affect brightness of it. If you scoop your highs, these strings may be ok to you, but I find them a little muddy.
Also, if you’re using a pick, the coating will be damaged almost immediately. See a picture of how it looks after one gig. Regular wounds sometimes look mostly the same even after their death, but I expect these to get visually uglier much faster.
I don’t know how they withstand dirt, they may last longer because of coating but I’d recommend using hand sanitizer than relying on coating.
And finally, the price. It’s 50% more expensive than Slinkies. I’d pay that for the visual effect, but problems with sound tell me I’m probably not going to buy them again unless my style drastically changes to not using treble.

Lenny –
These look great on my sons white bass guitar. He didn’t seem to have any problems putting them on and they have been on there for several months
RamiroJFx –
Excelente calidad! Pero se desgastan muy rápido pero el sonido intacto
TH –
Awesome tone as is the norm with DR strings, coating didn’t last as long as the coating on the Black Beauties that I always use, but that was fine because I really only wanted the Neons for one weekend, but ended up leaving them on for3 weekends.
Fedor Shamshurin –
Super très jolie
T2 Baseball –
These strings are the best. They feel great, have great crisp clear tone and the crowd loves em’. I get so many compliments on my strings at my shows. I have the neon multi-colors on one bass and the neon whites on another. I will use nothing but DR strings. Get you some.
Brad –
They hold up pretty long. I find that I don’t need to change them as often as I would regular strings (I used to change strings once a month). They sound okay. The gauge is great (I like my strings heavy)
T2 Baseball –
The strings sound great and the colors are fun.
Adam Lewis –
Crisp sound un-amplified. How you dial your tone controls will give these strings any sound you wish. Bright colors. The bright color lasts along time. The coating will scratch off eventually but once that happens the strings are dull and dead anyway and that’s when it’s time to put on a new set of strings.
S. T. –
awesomw nickel polimer coated strings.
excellent for a basses with brass frets, like old Warwicks.
it’s my forth set. always a good quality.
