Habanero –
As others have mentioned, the light is very bright on the highest setting, and is adustable downward to help increase battery life. I did not run it on the included alkaline batteries, just the integral Li battery, as I cannot see any way to select between the two, and there’s not a lot of sense in expending alkaline batteries until needed. I’ll save those (batteries can usually be stored safely for years) for the day (or more likely night) when the Li battery charge runs low.
The ‘charging indicator’ is the on/off button. At various times it blinks red, or is a steady red, or is just off. I don’t know for sure what the different modes mean, as there is no documentation of that, or any documentation to speak of. It does come with a USB-A to USB-C cable, with a USB-C port for charging the light from an external power source, and a USB-A port for charging an external device from the flashlight (5V, 1A). That’s very nice to have around while spending days perusing the phone during a power outage. Our area is notorious for outages, the longest of which I’ve experienced was 5 days.
When I went looking on the Energizer site and elsewhere for this flashlight to check for any possible online documentation, I could not find this light. This may be an Amazon only item, so you may wish to grab-em while they last.

This flashlight is super bright. It’s lightweight and not too big. It reminds me of the older lights I used to get. It’s definitely not super expensive feeling, but it’s not priced insanely high either. Where it shines (see what I did there?) is all of the power source options. I love solar options and this one has it! Plus it’s own battery and backup AAs. Make sure to scan the QR code to watch the video about using it, as how the AAs might be a little confusing to install (the orientation is super clear). Overall I really like this light!

I have this sitting in a window sill that gets afternoon sun and it seems to be charging well. I cannot comment on the length of time a charge lasts since I have not used it for extended periods and always put it back in the window to resume charging. I like that it has the option to use solar, charge via cord or use batteries. Though I am confused if I put the batteries in if it would solely depend on those first or only use them if the solar charge ran out. I didn’t find where it said in the instructions. I do not currently have them in the flashlight so my review is based solely on the solar charging capability.
Pleased.

I have personally never used a flashlight that supports both charging via USB/solar, as well as the ability to use AA batteries. And in a pinch, you could use this to charge your phone as well.
I was very happy with the grippiness and brightness of this flashlight and I think this is very handy to have on hand.

I am very impressed with every aspect of this flashlight. On it’s brightest setting it can light up my entire back yard and probably quite a few of my neighbors yards too. Thankfully it has 3 different modes so it’s not always super bright. Being able to charge via USB or solar is awesome. My neighborhood often loses power for multiple days at a time, so the next time that happens I will be glad I have this flashlight around. Being able to charge it by leaving it in the sun during the daytime and have it ready to go at night is very convenient. And this flashlight doubles as a battery bank so you can charge your phone from it! This is by far the best flashlight I’ve owned.

This Energizer S-600 Hybrid Power LED Flashlight brings all the versatility of a multi-tool in a flashlight. You have a rechargeable battery that can be recharged via USB-C (provided) or place it in the sun when you don’t have access to a power source. Or, insert some AA batteries (provided) for those just in case moments. The flashlight has a solid plastic feel with good fit/finish. The USB charging port is protected under a water resistant flap. The brightness is sufficient and appears close the the 600 lumens rating.
My only minor criticism is I wish the flashlight itself had more of a texture or rubberized feel to the outside, just to keep it from slipping out of your hand, but this is a really minor quibble. 4.5 stars.
Mr. Chrismass –
This hybrid flashlight is great for emergencies. It takes batteries, has a solar charger panel built in, and also boasts an internal battery. It also has a handy loop on one end to hang on a hook. Would definitely recommend for household emergency preparedness. 5/5
Customer Review –
This flashlight from Energizer can get really bright and it can be powered from its own internal battery cell, in addition to AA batteries (2 of which are included). The internal, rechargeable battery can be recharged using the USB C port hidden under a waterproof tab on the handle or from the built-in solar panels (although this will take a bit longer and is more for emergencies or camping than normal recharging).
This makes it a good option for outdoor uses and camping, since you can recharge it just by leaving it in the sunlight during the day when you won’t need it. But if you don’t have time for that, just make sure to keep some AA batteries with you as a fallback option.
The flashlight can get very, very bright- up to 600 lumens. This is at least 3-4 times brighter than an iPhone’s flashlight at maximum brightness. It also has 2 dimmer settings that won’t shine as far in the darkness but will allow the flashlight to last longer over time.
The flashlight is IPX4 water resistant, meaning it can withstand splashes and rain but it is not meant to be submerged under water. There is a full sized USB port as well, this can be used for supplying USB power to other devices. I could not find what the capacity is of the internal battery but I doubt it would charge a modern smartphone from 0-100%. More like something to give you enough of a charge to send a few texts or make a phone call.
