This is my go-to string. I will go back and forth between Ernie Ball Super Slinky (a little brighter) and Slinky Cobalts. I like the Cobalts as I find them more responsive, better all round performance, and they seem to last a little a little longer before some ugly harmonics kick in letting me know when I need to change. A little more expensive from Amazon than other vendors, but I usually get them in the next day or two after ordering. Great product!

I went to buy a replacement set as I had been using EB Cobalts for a while now. I noticed a “used” set posted in original packaging and in good condition, so I thought I could save a few bucks and break-in time. Unfortunately, the “E” was already unraveling and the original buyer returned them and Amazon resold them. Once the outer ribbon starts unraveling they’re no good. The original buyer had cut the string, probably before bending it, and it unraveled. Good for the buyer, bad for me. I requested a return and ordered a “new” set. That set came the next day and worked great! Lessons learned, 1) don’t buy used strings, 2) bend before cutting or wind the whole string(looks unsightly I know) and 3) buy Amazon as they back their products and mistakes.

I’ve been a fan of the regular Ernie Ball 5-string set for over a decade. I wanted to give the cobalt a try. They sounded good, but the A string popped at the bridge while I was tuning the bass. Never happened before. I did call Ernie Ball and they responded quickly and mailed me a replacement. Hopefully, this was a one-off occurrence.

To date I have probably tried every bass string out there. These give me everything I look for. A full loud B string and Singing Highs on the D/G. I using them on 2 separate Ibanez 5’s. A 1405 and a SR5FMDX

I’ve been playing for 43+ years and IMHO, these are the best all around flat wound electric bass string. Just the right tension and brightness, and longevity. I prefer these over, Fender, GHS, Labella, Dunlop, Pyramid, Rotosound…I’ve tried them all. They work well with headless bass systems too. Used these on my LeH Offset 5 and Ibanez EHB1505 with great results. Once they’re worked in a little, they stay in tune. I recommend these strings

Muy buenas cuerdas, no había probado estás Ernie Ball de cobalto y suenan excelente, si se nota la diferencia entre las normales Slinky y estás, suenan muy brillante. Siempre he sido muy de esta marca y no decepcionan. Recomendadas.
