Consigliato

I owned a version of this rope years ago. It had the logo engraved on the handles and was indestructible.I used it on and off through two gyms and five years of consistent use.
Bought this one last year to do light warm up before working out. It’s noticeably thinner leather will surely wear out before the year is out.
It’s a decent rope , at 9 and half feet long, for taller people who can’t use the standard 8 foot jump rope .I just wish Everlast made this rope to the same standards they used to.
If you can, look for and ask for OLD stock of this product. Generally the older ones came in a carton box and the Everlast logo is engraved on the handles. Ask merchant before you purchase and note that you requested OLD new stock of this product if you buy.
The old packaging won’t be confused with the newer packaging and date of production should be somewhere on the packaging so no legit merchant can say that they don’t know whether they are selling new or old stock.Try for stock from before the year 2000.
The leather is about twice as tthick and it’s just a more durable product.
So, the one I bought is good product…..bad version.

If you’re going to jump rope, whether it’s for CrossFit, martial arts, or just plain exercise, you need a proper jump rope. This type of rope is also sometimes called a ‘speed rope.’ It’s a great aerobic and endurance workout, especially for people who don’t have the time or desire to jog. In fighting or martial arts forms you don’t do any running, but you do a heck of a lot of bouncing, dancing, and jumping, so jump rope is a great way to get in shape for that.
Most exercise gyms these days will either provide or charge you about what this cost me for a cheap, plastic child’s toy. You don’t want that. Better to own and bring your own.
There are other speed ropes with the same ball bearing design made of plastic, with foam padded handles, or even weights, and I’ve used those, but I much prefer this wood and leather model. The wood handles are plenty comfortable, and frankly I think they’re better than padded or plastic handles because they don’t flex, wear, or give. And as for the rope itself, leather doesn’t whip you as badly as a plastic rope in my experience.
Right out of the box, the rope will have kinks in it from sitting in the packaging, but it will soften up after the first day of using it. I’ve heard suggestions such as soaking it first and such, but mine was fine after the first day.
SIZING: Without debate–because some people will troll about anything–this is the time tested way of knowing what size jump rope is good for you. Standing on the rope or measure with your feet together and hold the rope to your body, the two ends should come up to your armpits. I’m not saying there isn’t another way to size a jump rope, but unless you’re doing some specific jump rope technique, that’s a good general guide. If you’re going to be doing double and triple jumps constantly, ask someone who does it how to know what size you use. I just know that when I was jumping rope every day, without any tricks, for at least ten minutes a day, the sizing above was fine.
I’m exactly 175cm (I guess that’s 5’8.5″ or 5’9″) and the 9.5 foot rope is the right size for me, if that helps.

Simply the best speed rope a boxer could have. Forget the people who think it’s way too light. This rope is meant for high speed work. If you want heavy you’re looking at the wrong rope. This is the best for footwork and timing. Buy it if you want to be the best.👌🏻

Nothing good to say about this purchase. First they sent the wrong length jump rope. But it would have been returned anyway. The whole thing felt cheap and was cheap. The bearings were chinsy the handles were light and cheap wood. The leather was full of holes and scraped up. Not worth close to $40.

Beim springen fühlt man sich wie der junge Mike Tyson 😉

I read some negative reviews so I went with the like new used rope. It arrived packaged and looked new to me. I’m assuming it was a return. The jump rope is great and I don’t see any problem with the quality or thickness off the rope.

Good quality jump rope. I should have gone with the smaller size. It was a little to long for me at my height (5′ 10″)

Broke in two after about 2 years above average usage. I don’t know if this is typical, but it is awesome while it last.
p.s. Plastic ropes break MUCH more frequently. Weeks.
